Amos 3
1 Hear this word that YHWH has spoken concerning you, O sons of Israel, concerning all the family that I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
Hörer hvad Herren med eder talar, I Israels barn, nämliga med alla de slägter, som jag utur Egypti land fört hafver, och sade:
2 “Only you have I known of all families of the earth, Therefore I charge on you all your iniquities.”
Utaf alla slägter på jordene hafver jag upptagit eder allena; derföre vill jag ock hemsöka eder uti alla edra missgerningar.
3 Do two walk together if they have not met?
Kunna ock två vandra tillhopa, utan de draga öfverens med hvarannan?
4 Does a lion roar in a forest and he has no prey? Does a young lion give out his voice from his habitation, If he has not caught?
Ryter ock ett lejon i skogenom, utan det hafver rof? Ropar ock ett ungt lejon utu sine kulo, utan det något fångit hafver?
5 Does a bird fall into a snare of the earth, And there is no trap for it? Does a snare go up from the ground, And it does not capture prey?
Kommer ock någor fogel i snarona på jordene, der ingen foglafångare är? Tager man ock snarona upp af jordene, den ännu intet fångit hafver?
6 Is a horn blown in a city, And do people not tremble? Is there affliction in a city, And YHWH has not done [it]?
Blås man ock i basun i enom stad, och folket deraf icke förskräckes? Är ock något ondt i stadenom, det Herren icke gör?
7 For Lord YHWH does nothing, Except He has revealed His counsel to His servants the prophets.
Ty Herren Herren gör intet, utan han uppenbarar sinom tjenarom, Prophetomen, sina hemlighet.
8 A lion has roared—who does not fear? Lord YHWH has spoken—who does not prophesy?
Lejonet ryter, ho skulle icke frukta sig? Herren Herren talar, ho skulle icke prophetera?
9 “Sound to palaces in Ashdod, And to palaces in the land of Egypt, and say: Be gathered on mountains of Samaria, And see many troubles within her, And oppressed ones in her midst.
Förkunner uti palatsen i Asdod, och uti palatsen i Egypti land, och säger: Församler eder på Samarie berg, och ser till, hvilket stort mordskri och orätt der är.
10 And they have not known to act straightforwardly,” A declaration of YHWH, “Who are treasuring up violence and spoil in their palaces.”
De passa intet på någon rätt, säger Herren; utan öfvervåld och skada går hvart om annat i deras husom.
11 Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: “An adversary—and surrounding the land, And he has brought down your strength from you, And your palaces have been spoiled.”
Derföre säger Herren Herren alltså: Man skall belägga detta landet allt omkring, och störta dig neder ifrå dine magt, och skinna din hus.
12 Thus said YHWH: “As the shepherd delivers from the lion’s mouth Two legs, or a piece of an ear, So the sons of Israel are delivered, Who are sitting in Samaria on the corner of a bed, And in Damascus [on that of] a couch.
Detta säger Herren: Lika som en herde rycker eno lejone två fötter, eller ett stycke af ett öra utu munnenom; alltså skola Israels barn utryckte varda, de som bo i Samarien, och hafva i hörnet ett lägre, och i Damasco ena säng.
13 Hear and testify to the house of Jacob,” A declaration of Lord YHWH, God of Hosts.
Hörer, och betyger i Jacobs hus, säger Herren, Herren Gud Zebaoth.
14 “For in the day of My charging the transgressions of Israel on him, I have laid a charge on the altars of Beth-El, And the horns of the altar have been cut off, And they have fallen to the earth.
Ty på den tiden, då jag Israels synder hemsökandes varder, vill jag hemsöka de altare i BethEl, och bortbryta hornen af altaret, att de skola falla neder på markena;
15 And I have struck the winter-house with the summer-house, And houses of ivory have perished, And many houses have been consumed,” A declaration of YHWH!
Och skall slå både vinterhus och sommarhus; och de elphenbenshus skola till intet varda, och mång hus förderfvad blifva, säger Herren.
