Amos 2
1 Thus said YHWH: “For three transgressions of Moab, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of his burning the bones of the king of Edom to lime,
Assim diz o Senhor: Por tres transgressões de Moab, e por quatro, não o afastarei, porque queimou os ossos do rei de Edom, até os tornar em cal.
2 And I have sent a fire against Moab, And it has consumed the palaces of Kerioth, And Moab is dying with noise, With shouting, with voice of a horn.
Por isso porei fogo a Moab, e consumirá os palacios de Querioth: e Moab morrerá com grande estrondo, com alarido, com sonido de buzina.
3 And I have cut off judge from her midst, And I slay all its heads with him,” said YHWH.
E exterminarei o juiz do meio d'elle, e a todos os seus principes com elle matarei, diz o Senhor.
4 Thus said YHWH: “For three transgressions of Judah, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their loathing the Law of YHWH, And His statutes they have not kept, And their lies cause them to err, After which their fathers walked,
Assim diz o Senhor: Por tres transgressões de Judah, e por quatro, não o afastarei, porque rejeitaram a lei do Senhor, e não guardaram os seus estatutos, e as suas mentiras os enganaram, após as quaes andaram seus paes.
5 And I have sent a fire against Judah, And it has consumed palaces of Jerusalem.”
Por isso porei fogo a Judah, e consumirá os palacios de Jerusalem.
6 Thus said YHWH: “For three transgressions of Israel, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their selling the righteous for silver, And the needy for a pair of sandals.
Assim diz o Senhor: Por tres transgressões de Israel, e por quatro, não o afastarei, porque vendem o justo por dinheiro, e o necessitado por um par de sapatos,
7 Who are panting for the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, And the way of the humble they turn aside, And a man and his father go to the girl, So as to defile My holy Name.
Suspirando pelo pó da terra sobre a cabeça dos pobres, e pervertem o caminho dos mansos; e o homem e seu pae entram a uma mesma moça, para profanarem o meu sancto nome.
8 And they stretch themselves on pledged garments near every altar, And the wine of fined ones they drink [in] the house of their gods.
E se deitam junto a qualquer altar sobre as roupas empenhadas, e bebem o vinho dos multados na casa de seus deuses.
9 And I have destroyed the Amorite from before them, Whose height [is] as the height of cedars, And he [is] strong as the oaks, And I destroy his fruit from above, And his roots from beneath.
Não obstante eu ter destruido o amorrheo diante d'elles, cuja altura foi como a altura dos cedros, e foi forte como os carvalhos; mas destrui o seu fructo por cima, e as suas raizes por baixo.
10 And I have brought you up from the land of Egypt, And cause you to go in a wilderness forty years, To possess the land of the Amorite.
Tambem vos fiz subir da terra do Egypto, e quarenta annos vos guiei no deserto, para que possuisseis a terra do amorrheo.
11 And I raise of your sons for prophets, And of your choice ones for Nazarites, Is this not true, O sons of Israel?” A declaration of YHWH.
E a alguns d'entre vossos filhos suscitei para prophetas, e alguns d'entre os vossos mancebos para nazireos; e não é isto assim, filhos de Israel? diz o Senhor.
12 “And you cause the Nazarites to drink wine, And on the prophets you have laid a charge, Saying, Do not prophesy!
Mas vós aos nazireos déstes vinho a beber, e aos prophetas mandastes, dizendo: Não prophetizareis.
13 Behold, I am pressing you under, As the full cart presses a sheaf for itself.
Eis que eu vos apertarei no vosso logar como se aperta um carro cheio de manolhos.
14 And refuge has perished from the swift, And the strong does not strengthens his power, And the mighty does not deliver his soul.
Assim que perecerá a fugida ao ligeiro; nem o forte corroborará a sua força, nem o valente livrará a sua vida.
15 And the handler of the bow does not stand, And the swift does not deliver [himself] with his feet, And the rider of the horse does not deliver his soul.
E não ficará em pé o que leva o arco, nem o ligeiro de pés se livrará, nem tão pouco o que vae montado a cavallo livrará a sua alma.
16 And the courageous of heart among the mighty, Flees naked in that day,” A declaration of YHWH!
E o mais animoso entre os valentes fugirá nú n'aquelle dia, disse o Senhor.
