Acts 1
1 The former account, indeed, I made concerning all things, O Theophilus, that Jesus began both to do and to teach,
थियोफ़िलॉस महोदय, मेरे पहले अभिलेख का विषय था मसीह येशु की शिक्षाएं और उनके द्वारा शुरू किए गए वे काम,
2 until the day in which, having given command through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He chose out, He was taken up,
जो उन्होंने अपने चुने हुए प्रेरितों को पवित्र आत्मा के निर्देश में दिए गए आदेशों के बाद स्वर्ग में स्वीकार कर लिए जाने तक किए.
3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, in many certain proofs, being seen by them through forty days, and speaking the things concerning the Kingdom of God.
मसीह येशु इन प्रेरितों के सामने अपने प्राणों के अंत तक की यातना के बाद अनेक अटल सबूतों के साथ चालीस दिन स्वयं को जीवित प्रकट करते रहे तथा परमेश्वर के राज्य संबंधी विषयों का वर्णन करते रहे.
4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, “Which you heard from Me;
एक दिन मसीह येशु ने उन्हें इकट्ठा कर आज्ञा दी, “येरूशलेम उस समय तक न छोड़ना, जब तक मेरे पिता (परमेश्वर) द्वारा की गई प्रतिज्ञा, जिसका वर्णन मैं कर चुका हूं, पूरी न हो जाए.
5 because John, indeed, immersed in water, but you will be immersed in the Holy Spirit not many days after these.”
योहन तो जल में बपतिस्मा देते थे किंतु शीघ्र ही तुमको पवित्र आत्मा में बपतिस्मा दिया जाएगा.”
6 They, therefore, indeed, having come together, were questioning Him, saying, “Lord, do You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”
इसलिये जब वे सब वहां उपस्थित थे, उन्होंने प्रभु से प्रश्न किया, “प्रभु, क्या आप अब इस समय इस्राएल राज्य की दोबारा स्थापना करेंगे?”
7 And He said to them, “It is not yours to know times or seasons that the Father appointed in His own authority;
“पिता के अधिकार में तय तिथियों या युगों के पूरे ज्ञान की खोज करना तुम्हारा काम नहीं है,” मसीह येशु ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया,
8 but you will receive power at the coming of the Holy Spirit on you, and you will be witnesses for Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
“पवित्र आत्मा के तुम पर उतरने पर तुम्हें सामर्थ्य प्राप्त होगा और तुम येरूशलेम, सारे यहूदिया, शमरिया तथा पृथ्वी के दूर-दूर तक के क्षेत्रों में मेरे गवाह होगे.”
9 And having said these things—they beholding—He was taken up, and a cloud received Him up from their sight;
इस वक्तव्य के पूरा होते ही प्रेरितों के देखते-देखते मसीह येशु स्वर्ग में स्वीकार कर लिए गए तथा एक बादल ने उन्हें उनकी दृष्टि से ओझल कर दिया.
10 and as they were looking steadfastly to the sky in His going on, then, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,
जब वे आकाश में दृष्टि गड़ाए हुए मसीह येशु को स्वर्ग में जाते हुए देख रहे थे, एकाएक सफ़ेद वस्त्रों में दो व्यक्ति उनके पास प्रकट हो
11 who also said, “Men, Galileans, why do you stand gazing into the sky? This Jesus who was received up from you into Heaven, will so come in what manner you saw Him going on to Heaven.”
कहने लगे, “गलीली पुरुषों, आकाश की ओर ऐसे क्यों ताक रहे हो? यह येशु, जो देखते-देखते तुम्हारे मध्य से स्वर्ग में स्वीकार कर लिए गए हैं, ठीक इसी प्रकार दोबारा आएंगे, जिस प्रकार तुमने उन्हें स्वर्ग में स्वीकार होते हुए देखा है.”
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from [that] called the Mount of Olives, that is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath’s journey;
तब वे उस पहाड़ी से, जिसे ज़ैतून पर्वत भी कहा जाता है, येरूशलेम लौट गए. यह स्थान येरूशलेम से लगभग एक किलोमीटर दूरी पर है.
13 and when they came in, they went up into the upper room, where were abiding both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James, of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas, of James;
नगर में पहुंचकर वे ऊपर के कमरे में इकट्ठा हो गए, जहां वे रह रहे थे. वहां पेतरॉस, योहन, याकोब, आन्द्रेयास, फ़िलिप्पॉस, थोमॉस, बारथोलोमेयॉस, मत्तियाह, हलफ़ेयॉस के पुत्र याकोब, शिमओन ज़ेलोतेस तथा याकोब के पुत्र यहूदाह उपस्थित थे.
14 these were all continuing with one accord in prayer and supplication, with women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
ये सभी वहां नियमित रूप से सच्चाई के साथ एक मन होकर, मसीह येशु की माता मरियम, उनके भाइयों तथा अन्य स्त्रियों के साथ प्रार्थना के लिए इकट्ठा होने लगे.
15 And in these days, Peter having risen up in the midst of the disciples, said (also the multitude of the names at the same place was, as it were, one hundred and twenty),
तब एक दिन, जब लगभग एक सौ बीस विश्वासी इकट्ठा थे, पेतरॉस उनके बीच खड़े होकर कहने लगे,
16 “Men, brothers, it was necessary [for] this Writing to be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand through the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus,
“प्रिय भाई बहिनो, मसीह येशु को पकड़वाने के लिए अगुआ यहूदाह, के विषय में दावीद के माध्यम से पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा कहा गया पवित्र शास्त्र का वचन पूरा होना ज़रूरी था.
17 because he was numbered among us, and received the share in this ministry.
वह हममें से एक तथा सेवा के कार्य में सहभागी था.”
18 (This one, indeed, then, purchased a field out of the reward of unrighteousness, and falling headlong, burst apart in the midst, and all his bowels gushed forth,
अधर्म की कमाई से उसने भूमि मोल ली. वहां वह सिर के बल ऐसा गिरा कि उसका पेट फट गया तथा उसकी सारी आंतें बाहर बिखर गईं.
19 and it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem, insomuch that this place is called, in their proper dialect, Aceldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
सारे येरूशलेम में यह समाचार फैल गया. यही कारण है कि वह भूमि अब उन्हीं की भाषा में हकलदमा अर्थात् लहू-भूमि के नाम से बदनाम हो गई है.
20 For it has been written in [the] Scroll of Psalms: Let his lodging-place become desolate, and let no one be dwelling in it, and let another take his oversight.
“भजन में वर्णन है: “‘उसकी भूमि उजाड़ हो जाए; तथा उसमें कोई बसने न पाए,’ तथा यह भी, “‘कोई अन्य उसका पद ले ले.’
21 It is necessary, therefore, of the men who went with us during all the time in which the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us,
इसलिये यह ज़रूरी है कि एक ऐसे व्यक्ति को चुना जाए, जो प्रभु येशु मसीह के कार्यों के सारे समय का गवाह है.
22 beginning from the immersion of John, to the day in which He was received up from us, one of these to become with us a witness of His resurrection.”
मसीह येशु को योहन द्वारा बपतिस्मा दिए जाने से लेकर उनके स्वर्ग में स्वीकार किए जाने तक—यह व्यक्ति हमारे साथ मसीह येशु के पुनरुत्थान का गवाह बने.”
23 And they set two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias,
इसलिये दो नाम सुझाए गए: योसेफ़ जिसे बारसब्बास के नाम से जाना जाता है, जिसका उपनाम था युस्तस तथा दूसरा व्यक्ति मत्तियास.
24 and having prayed, they said, “You, LORD, who are knowing the heart of all, show which one You chose of these two,
तब उन्होंने यह प्रार्थना की, “हे मनों को जांचनेवाले प्रभु, हम पर यह साफ़ कीजिए कि इन दोनों में से आपने किसे चुना है
25 to receive the share of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas, by transgression, fell, to go on to his proper place”;
कि वह इस सेवा के कार्य और प्रेरितों की वह खाली जगह ले, जिससे मुक्त होकर यहूदाह अपने ठहराए हुए स्थान पर चला गया.”
26 and they gave their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
तब उन्होंने चिट डालें और मत मत्तियास के पक्ष में पड़े, इसलिये वह ग्यारह प्रेरितों में सम्मिलित कर लिया गया.
