< Acts 5 >

1 And a certain man, Ananias by name, with his wife Sapphira, sold a possession,
Ewo, umunu yumo ikhielangiwa Anania, nudala va mwene uSafira vakhagoja esekhemu ya khumali,
2 and kept back of the price—his wife also knowing—and having brought a certain part, he laid [it] at the feet of the apostles.
akhafikha esehemu ya khele eyevagonchinche (udala va mwene akhalemanyile ele), akhagega esekhemu eyesigile nukhuyiveli ka malunde ga sukhwa.
3 And Peter said, “Ananias, why did Satan fill your heart, for you to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back of the price of the place?
Po uPetro akhanchova, “Anania, khehi usetano(utavangwa) ayedenchiche inumbula yakho ukhunchova uvudesi kho Mepo Umbalanche nukhufikha elieneo la khyoma khyalo?
4 While it remained, did it not remain yours? And having been sold, was it not in your authority? Why [is] it that you put this thing in your heart? You did not lie to men, but to God”;
Wosalegojiwe sakhekhave khima khyaho? Nawoyegonchiwe, yekhale ndakhehi elijambo ele usage munumbula? Sio uvasyovile avanu, usivile Unguluve.”
5 and Ananias hearing these words, having fallen down, expired, and great fear came on all who heard these things,
Avile ipokhela amamenyu aga, uAnania akhagwa pasi akhadumukha enumbula uwasiwasi uvovakha vokhavinchala vani vavo vakhapolikhe ele.
6 and having risen, the younger men wound him up, and having carried forth, they buried [him].

7 And it came to pass, about three hours after, that his wife, not knowing what has happened, came in,
Usekhe gwa masaa gadatu, udala vamwene akhingela igati, asite ukhulumanya khekhyo khekhomile.
8 and Peter answered her, “Tell me if for so much you sold the place”; and she said, “Yes, for so much.”
U Petro akhombola, “Imbole mukhogonchinche ekhalo khulela eyo.” Akhachova, “Ee, khu samani eyo.”
9 And Peter said to her, “How was it agreed by you to tempt the Spirit of the LORD? Behold, the feet of those who buried your husband [are] at the door, and they will carry you forth”;
Po uPetro akhombola, “Yevile ndakhekhi ukhuta mpatane popaninye ukhugela Umepo va Ntwa? Ulole, amalunde gavavo vasyelile ugosi vakho gale pandyango vikhogega vikhokhelekha khonji.”
10 and immediately she fell down at his feet, and expired, and the young men having come in, found her dead, and having carried forth, they buried [her] by her husband;

11 and great fear came on all the Assembly, and on all who heard these things.
Ekhofu embakha yekhicha khotembile engoge, navani avapolikhe amambo aga.
12 And through the hands of the apostles came many signs and wonders among the people, and they were all with one accord in the porch of Solomon;
Amambo mingi gatekhomela khovanu ukhugende mavokho ga syukhwa. Vakhale popaninye mbokumbi wa Sulemani.
13 and of the rest no one was daring to join himself to them, but the people were magnifying them,
Ulwakhuva, akhasikholi umunu uyunge tofauti uyakhate nuvonchasili uwakhwibatana navo; ata ewe, vakheshimikhe sana na vanu.
14 (and the more were believers added to the LORD, multitudes of both men and women),
Ata ewe, avedekha vingi valekyongesekha khu Ntwa, esekhemu embakha yavagosi na vadala,
15 so as to bring forth the ailing into the broad places, and to lay [them] on beds and pallets, that at the coming of Peter, even [his] shadow might overshadow someone of them;
valegovagega avatamu mitaa, nukhuvagonya vitanda na makochi, uPeturo wigenda ekhanchinchimela khyamwene khikhe khovene.
16 and there were also coming together the people of the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, carrying ailing persons, and those harassed by unclean spirits—who were all healed.
Apo, avanu vingi valekwincha ukhuhuma esekhemu yeyoyenchongolile eYelusalemu, nukhuvatwala avatamu navava vanchanga nikhiwe ni mepo imbivi, novoni vakhapona.
17 And having risen, the chief priest, and all those with him—being the sect of the Sadducees—were filled with zeal,
Poutekhenchi umbakha akhinokha, navo ni avakhale popaninye (vavo vakhavile valizekhebe lya masadukayo); vakhadegile no wivu
18 and laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in a public prison;
vakhanyosya amavokho gavene vakhavibata avasukhwa nukhuvavekha igati mundibalasa elya moja khya moja.
19 but through the night a messenger of the LORD opened the doors of the prison, having also brought them forth, he said,
Usekhe gwa pakelo avasukhwa ua Ntwa vakhedendala imilyango egya balasa nukhuvalongoncha khonji nukhunchova,
20 “Go on, and standing, speak in the temple to the people all the sayings of this life”;
“Mulutage mukheme khutembile nukhuvavola avanu amamenyu ga Womi uvu.”
21 and having heard, they entered into the temple at the dawn, and were teaching. And the chief priest having come, and those with him, they called together the Sanhedrin and all the Senate of the sons of Israel, and they sent to the prison to have them brought,
Vavapolikhe evo, vakhingela khutembile wekhwikya nukhumanyesya. Po utekheji umbakha akhincha na vani avakhale nave injela, nukhulyalanga elibalasa lyoni popaninye navasekhe voni vavanu va Izilaeli, nukhuvasukha khulibalasa khuvatola avasukhya.
22 and the officers having come, did not find them in the prison, and having turned back, they told,
Poavavombi vavovalutile, savakhavavone ndibalasa, povakhavuya khukhumya etalifa,
23 saying, “We indeed found the prison shut in all safety, and the keepers standing outside before the doors, and having opened—we found no one within.”
“Tuwene ilibalasa ledendiwe vononu navava vilendelela vamile pandango, votovile tudendola, satukhambone umunu igati.”
24 And as the priest, and the magistrate of the temple, and the chief priests, heard these words, they were doubting concerning them to what this would come;
Poliseke umbakha vatembile nutekheji umbakha vovapolikhe amamenyu aga, vakhingeliwa ne khofu embakha khovene visaga yiva ndakhekhi embakha khovene visaga yiva ndakhekhi elijambo ele.
25 and coming near, a certain one told them, saying, “Behold, the men whom you put in the prison are in the temple standing and teaching the people”;
Yumo akhincha khukhovavola, “Avanu vavo mukhavavekhile ndi balasa vemile khutembile vikhovamanyesya avanu.”
26 then the magistrate having gone away with officers, brought them without violence, for they were fearing the people, lest they should be stoned;
Ewo ujemedari lumbakho akhaluta popaninye na vavombi, vakhajivatwala, savakhavombe efujo, vakhavadwada avanu vakhaviwesya ukhuvatova na mawe.
27 and having brought them, they set [them] in the Sanhedrin, and the chief priest questioned them,
Vova jikhovatolile, vakhavavekha khovolongolo khubalasa. Utekheji umbakha akhavavoncha
28 saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this Name? And behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring on us the blood of this Man.”
akhachova, “Tukhavabelile msite ukhufundesya khulitawa ele, bado mudenchinche eYelusalemu khulifusyo elenyo, namunogwa ukhuleta ukisa gwa munu uyu khalyofye.”
29 And Peter and the apostles answering, said, “It is required to obey God, rather than men;
Po uPetro bu vasukhya vakhanda, “Lazima tumwedekhe Unguluve sio avanu.
30 and the God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you slew, having hanged on a tree;
Unguluve va dada veto akhanchosinche uYeesu, uyumukhabudile, nukhumbekha khukyanya khu bekhe.
31 this One, God, a Prince and a Savior, has exalted with His right hand, to give conversion to Israel, and forgiveness of sins;
Unguluve akhaginga khokhevokho kya mwene khyakhege, nukhumbakha ukhuva Imbakha vagombonchi, ikhomya ulyeyisyo khoisilaele nolosikhelo lya mbivi.”
32 and we are His witnesses of these sayings, and the Holy Spirit also, whom God gave to those obeying Him.”
Ufye tulevashahidi va mambo aga, nu Mepo Umbalan'che, yuywa Unguluve akhominche khovavo vikhomwedekha.”
33 And they having heard, were cut [to the heart], and were intending to slay them,
Avajumbe va balasa vovapolekhe evo, vakhibatiwa ne lyoyo vakhanogwa ukhuva buda avasukhya.
34 but a certain one, having risen up in the Sanhedrin—a Pharisee, by name Gamaliel, a teacher of law honored by all the people—commanded to put the apostles forth a little,
Ufalisayo uyelangiwe Gamalieli, umanyesi va lulagelo, uyikhweshimiwa na vanu voni akhema nukhuvavola avasukhya vatoliwe khonji khusekhe idebe.
35 and said to them, “Men, Israelites, take heed to yourselves about these men, what you are about to do,
Akha vavola, “Avagosi va Isilaeli, muvinchage makini nekhenu ukheyakheva mukhovavombela ava.
36 for before these days Theudas rose up, saying that he was someone, to whom a number of men joined themselves, as it were four hundred, who was slain, and all, as many as were obeying him, were scattered, and came to nothing.
Ulyakhova, khate sana, uTheuda akhinu kha nukhyedai ukhuva munu imbakha neidadi ya vanu vakhakonga, vakhale mia nne valekhokanga. Akhabuda, na vanu vavo valekhomwedekha vakhasambalate kha vakhayaga.
37 After this one, Judas the Galilean rose up, in the days of the census, and drew away people after him, and that one perished, and all, as many as were obeying him, were scattered;
Puu munu uyu, uYuda mgalilaya, akhema esikhu yela yakhosimbiwa esensa, akhakwega avanu vingi khusana. Na vope vakhayaga navoni avakhakongaga vakhayaga.
38 and now I say to you, refrain from these men, and leave them alone, because if this counsel or this work may be of men, it will be overthrown,
Nalola nikhuvavola, mweyeposye na vanu ava muvalekhe vene, ulyakhova kama upango ugu au embombo ege yavanu yitagiwa.
39 and if it be of God, you are not able to overthrow it, lest perhaps you are also found fighting against God.”
Kama ya Ngolove, samukhawesye ukhuvabencha, muwesye muvone msindana nu Nguluve.” Ewo, vakhedekha na mamenyu ga mwene.
40 And to him they agreed, and having called near the apostles, having beaten [them], they commanded [them] not to speak in the Name of Jesus, and let them go;
Po vakhavelanga avasukhya igati nukhuvatova nukhuvavola vasite ukhunchova ilitawa lya Yeesu, vakhavalekha valutage.
41 they, indeed, then, departed from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that for His Name they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor,
Vakhakhega khovolongolo kholi balasa vakhowikhe ulyakhova vakhesabilwe nu khunogiwa nukhutesekha nukhuginiwa khuli Litawa elyo.
42 also every day in the temple, and in every house, they were not ceasing teaching and proclaiming good news—Jesus the Christ.
