Acts 20

1 And after the ceasing of the tumult, Paul having called near the disciples, and having embraced [them], went forth to go on to Macedonia;

Iar după ce a încetat tumultul, Pavel a chemat la el pe discipoli și i-a îmbrățișat și a ieșit să plece în Macedonia.

2 and having gone through those parts, and having exhorted them with many words, he came to Greece;

Iar după ce a traversat părțile acelea și i-a îndemnat cu multe cuvinte, a venit în Grecia,

3 and having continued three months—a counsel of the Jews having been against him—being about to set forth to Syria, there came [to him] a resolution of returning through Macedonia.

Și a rămas trei luni. Și după ce iudeii au complotat împotriva lui, pe când intenționa să navigheze spre Siria, s-a hotărât să se întoarcă prin Macedonia.

4 And there were accompanying him to Asia, Sopater of Pyrrhus from Berea, and of Thessalonians Aristarchus and Secundus, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus, and of Asians Tychicus and Trophimus;

Și l-au însoțit până în Asia, Sopater din Bereea; și dintre tesaloniceni, Aristarh și Secundus; și Gaiu din Derbe și Timotei; iar din Asia, Tihic și Trofim.

5 these, having gone before, remained for us in Troas,

Aceștia, mergând înainte, ne-au așteptat în Troas.

6 and we sailed, after the days of the Unleavened [Bread], from Philippi, and came to them to Troas in five days, where we abided seven days.

Iar noi am navigat din Filipi după zilele azimelor și am venit la ei în Troas în cinci zile; unde am rămas șapte zile.

7 And on the first [day] of the weeks, the disciples having been gathered together to break bread, Paul was discoursing to them, about to depart on the next day, he was also continuing the discourse until midnight,

Și în prima zi a săptămânii, când discipolii s-au adunat să frângă pâinea, Pavel le-a predicat, pregătit să plece a doua zi; și a continuat vorbirea până la miezul nopții.

8 and there were many lamps in the upper chamber where they were gathered together,

Și erau multe lumini în camera de sus, unde erau adunați.

9 and there a certain youth was sitting, by name Eutychus, on the window—being borne down by a deep sleep, Paul discoursing long—he having sunk down from the sleep, fell down from the third story, and was lifted up dead.

Și în fereastră a șezut un tânăr, unul numit Eutih, fiind cufundat într-un somn adânc; și pe când Pavel predica îndelung, s-a adâncit în somn și a căzut jos de la al treilea etaj și a fost ridicat mort.

10 And Paul, having gone down, fell on him, and having embraced [him], said, “Make no tumult, for his life is in him”;

Iar Pavel a coborât și s-a aplecat peste el și, îmbrățișându-l, a spus: Nu vă tulburați; fiindcă viața lui este în el.

11 and having come up, and having broken bread, and having tasted, for a long time also having talked—until daylight, so he went forth,

Și după ce a urcat din nou și a frânt pâine și a mâncat și a vorbit timp îndelungat, până în zorii zilei, astfel a plecat.

12 and they brought up the boy alive, and were comforted in no ordinary measure.

Și l-au adus pe tânăr viu și nu puțin au fost mângâiați.

13 And we having gone before to the ship, sailed to Assos, there intending to take in Paul, for so he had arranged, intending himself to go on foot;

Iar noi ne-am dus înainte la corabie și am navigat spre Assos, vrând să îl luăm de acolo pe Pavel; fiindcă astfel rânduise el, el însuși gândindu-se să meargă pe jos.

14 and when he met with us at Assos, having taken him up, we came to Mitylene,

Și când s-a întâlnit cu noi la Assos, l-am luat și am venit la Mitilene.

15 and there having sailed, on the next day we came opposite Chios, and the next day we arrived at Samos, and having remained in Trogyllium, on the following day we came to Miletus,

Și de acolo am navigat și în următoarea zi am ajuns față în față cu Chios; și în următoarea zi am ajuns la Samos și am rămas la Troghilion și în următoarea zi am venit la Milet.

16 for Paul decided to sail past Ephesus, that there may not be to him a loss of time in Asia, for he was hurrying, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem on the day of the Pentecost.

Fiindcă Pavel a decis să navigheze pe lângă Efes, pentru că el a refuzat să întârzie în Asia; fiindcă se grăbea, dacă i-ar fi posibil, ca el să fie la Ierusalim de ziua cincizecimii.

17 And from Miletus, having sent to Ephesus, he called for the elders of the assembly,

Iar din Milet a trimis la Efes și a chemat bătrânii bisericii.

18 and when they were come to him, he said to them, “You know from the first day in which I came to Asia, how I was with you at all times;

Și după ce au venit la el, le-a spus: Știți din prima zi de când am venit în Asia, cum m-am purtat cu voi în toate timpurile,

19 serving the LORD with all humility, and many tears, and temptations, that befell me in the counsels of the Jews against [me];

Servind pe Domnul cu toată umilința minții și cu multe lacrimi și ispite, care mi s-au întâmplat prin comploturile iudeilor;

20 how I kept back nothing of what things are profitable, not to declare to you, and to teach you publicly, and in every house,

Cum nu am ascuns nimic ce vă era de folos, ci v-am arătat și v-am învățat public și din casă în casă,

21 testifying fully both to Jews and Greeks, conversion toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Adeverind deopotrivă iudeilor și grecilor, pocăință față de Dumnezeu și credință față de Domnul nostru Isus Cristos.

22 And now, behold, I—bound in the Spirit—go on to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will befall me in it,

Și acum, iată, eu mă duc, legat în duhul, la Ierusalim, neștiind lucrurile care au să mi se întâmple acolo,

23 except that the Holy Spirit fully testifies in every city, saying that bonds and tribulations remain for me;

Decât că Duhul Sfânt adeverește în fiecare cetate, spunând că mă așteaptă lanțuri și nenorociri.

24 but I make account of none of these, neither do I count my life precious to myself, so that I finish my course with joy, and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify [to] the good news of the grace of God.

Dar niciunul dintre aceste lucruri nu mă mișcă, nici nu consider a mea viață de preț pentru mine însumi, așa încât să îmi termin alergarea cu bucurie și serviciul pe care l-am primit de la Domnul Isus, să adeveresc evanghelia harului lui Dumnezeu.

25 And now, behold, I have known that you will no longer see my face, among all you [to] whom I went preaching the Kingdom of God;

Și acum, iată, eu știu că voi toți, printre care am umblat predicând împărăția lui Dumnezeu, nu îmi veți mai vedea fața.

26 for this reason I take you to witness this day, that I [am] clear from the blood of all,

De aceea vă iau ca mărturie în această zi, că eu sunt curat de sângele tuturor.

27 for I did not keep back from declaring to you all the counsel of God.

Fiindcă nu m-am ferit niciodată să vă fac cunoscut întregul sfat al lui Dumnezeu.

28 Take heed, therefore, to yourselves, and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit made you overseers, to feed the Assembly of God that He acquired through His own blood,

Așadar luați seama la voi înșivă și la întreaga turmă peste care Duhul Sfânt v-a făcut supraveghetori, să pașteți biserica lui Dumnezeu, pe care a cumpărat-o cu propriul său sânge.

29 for I have known this, that there will enter in, after my departing, grievous wolves to you, not sparing the flock,

Fiindcă știu aceasta, că după plecarea mea, vor intra printre voi lupi apăsători, necruțând turma.

30 and there will arise men of your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

Și dintre voi înșivă se vor scula bărbați vorbind lucruri perverse, să atragă discipoli după ei.

31 Therefore, watch, remembering that three years, night and day, I did not cease with tears warning each one;

Vegheați așadar și amintiți-vă, că timp de trei ani nu am încetat să vă avertizez cu lacrimi, noapte și zi, pe fiecare.

32 and now, I commend you, brothers, to God, and to the word of His grace, that is able to build up, and to give you an inheritance among all those sanctified.

Și acum fraților, vă încredințez lui Dumnezeu și cuvântului harului său, care este în stare să vă edifice și să vă dea o moștenire printre toți cei sfințiți.

33 I coveted the silver or gold or clothing of no one;

Nu am poftit argintul sau aurul sau hainele nimănui.

34 and you yourselves know that to my necessities, and to those who were with me, these hands ministered;

Da, voi înșivă știți că mâinile acestea au servit nevoilor mele și celor ce erau cu mine.

35 I showed you all things, that, thus laboring, it is necessary to partake with the ailing, to also be mindful of the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said: It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

V-am arătat toate lucrurile; că, muncind astfel, ar trebui să susțineți pe cei slabi și să vă amintiți cuvintele Domnului Isus, cum el a spus: Este mai binecuvântat a da decât a primi.

36 And having said these things, having bowed his knees, with them all, he prayed,

Și după ce a vorbit astfel, el a îngenunchiat și s-a rugat cu ei toți.

37 and there came a great weeping to all, and having fallen on the neck of Paul, they were kissing him,

Iar ei toți au plâns mult și au căzut la gâtul lui Pavel și îl sărutau,

38 sorrowing most of all for the word that he had said—that they are about to see his face no longer; and they were accompanying him to the ship.

Întristându-se mai ales pentru cuvintele pe care le-a spus, că nu îi vor mai vedea fața. Și l-au însoțit la corabie.
