< Acts 2 >
1 And in the day of the Pentecost being fulfilled, they were all with one accord at the same place,
Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa mũthenya wa Bendegothito wakinyire-rĩ, acio othe magĩkorwo maarĩ handũ hamwe.
2 and there came suddenly out of the sky a sound as of a violent rushing wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting,
3 and there appeared to them divided tongues, as it were of fire; it also sat on each one of them,
Makĩona kĩndũ gĩatariĩ ta nĩnĩmbĩ cia mwaki iria ciagayũkanĩte igĩikara igũrũ rĩa mũndũ o mũndũ.
4 and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, according as the Spirit was giving them to declare.
Othe makĩiyũrio Roho Mũtheru na makĩambĩrĩria kwaria na thiomi ingĩ o ta ũrĩa Roho aamahotithirie.
5 And there were Jews dwelling in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation of those under the heaven,
Na rĩrĩ, kũu Jerusalemu nĩ gwaikaraga Ayahudi etigĩri Ngai kuuma ndũrĩrĩ-inĩ ciothe cia thĩ.
6 and the rumor of this having come, the multitude came together, and was confounded, because they were, each one, hearing them speaking in his proper dialect,
Rĩrĩa maiguire mũgambo ũcio, gĩkundi kĩa andũ gĩgĩcookanĩrĩra kĩgegete, tondũ o mũndũ aamaiguaga makĩaria na rũthiomi rwake kĩũmbe.
7 and they were all amazed, and wondered, saying to one another, “Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?
Nao makĩgega mũno, makĩũrania atĩrĩ, “Githĩ andũ aya othe maraaria ti andũ a Galili?
8 And how do we hear, each in our proper dialect, in which we were born?
Nĩ kĩĩ kĩratũma mũndũ o mũndũ witũ amaigue makĩaria na rũthiomi rwa kũrĩa aaciarĩirwo?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those dwelling in Mesopotamia, in Judea also, and Cappadocia, Pontus, and Asia,
Andũ a Parithi, na a Media, na a Elamu; o na andũ arĩa matũũraga Mesopotamia, na Judea, na Kapadokia, na Ponto, na Asia,
10 Phrygia also, and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya that [are] along Cyrene, and the strangers of Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11 Cretes and Arabians, we heard them speaking the great things of God in our tongues.”
12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying to one another, “What would this wish to be?”
Mamakĩte na makagega makĩũrania atĩrĩ, “Ũũ nĩ kuuga atĩa?”
13 And others mocking said, “They are full of sweet wine”;
14 and Peter having stood up with the Eleven, lifted up his voice and declared to them: “Men—Jews, and all those dwelling in Jerusalem! Let this be known to you, and listen to my sayings,
Hĩndĩ ĩyo Petero akĩrũgama hamwe na arĩa ikũmi na ũmwe, akĩanĩrĩra na akĩarĩria gĩkundi kĩu kĩa andũ akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Inyuĩ andũ aitũ Ayahudi o na inyuĩ inyuothe mũtũũraga Jerusalemu, rekei ndĩmũtaarĩrie ũhoro ũyũ; thikĩrĩriai wega ũrĩa nguuga.
15 for these are not drunken, as you take it up, for it is the third hour of the day.
Andũ aya ti arĩĩu, ta ũrĩa mũreciiria. Rĩu nĩ thaa ithatũ tu cia rũciinĩ!
16 But this is that which has been spoken through the prophet Joel:
Aca gũtitariĩ ta ũguo, ũhoro ũyũ nĩguo warĩtio nĩ mũnabii Joeli, akiuga atĩrĩ:
17 And it will be in the last days, says God, I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh, And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, And your young men will see visions, And your old men will dream dreams;
“‘Ngai ekuuga atĩrĩ, matukũ-inĩ ma kũrigĩrĩria nĩngaitĩrĩria andũ othe Roho wakwa. Ariũ na aarĩ anyu nĩmakarathaga mohoro, Aanake anyu nĩmakonaga cioneki, nao athuuri anyu marootage irooto.
18 And also on My menservants, and on My maidservants, In those days, I will pour out of My Spirit, And they will prophesy;
O na ningĩ nĩngaitĩrĩria ndungata ciakwa cia arũme na cia andũ-a-nja Roho wakwa matukũ-inĩ macio, nacio nĩikarathaga mohoro.
19 And I will give wonders in the sky above, And signs on the earth beneath—Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke,
Nĩngonania morirũ kũu igũrũ matu-inĩ, na nyonanie ciama gũkũ thĩ, cia thakame, na cia mwaki, na cia ndogo ĩkwambata.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness, And the moon to blood, Before the coming of the Day of the LORD—the great and conspicuous;
Riũa nĩrĩkagarũrwo rĩtuĩke nduma, naguo mweri ũtuĩke ta thakame, mbere ya mũthenya ũcio mũnene wa Mwathani ũrĩa ũrĩ riiri gũkinya.
21 And it will be, everyone who, if he may have called on the Name of the LORD, will be saved.
Na nĩgũgakinya atĩrĩ, atĩ mũndũ wothe ũgaakaĩra rĩĩtwa rĩa Mwathani nĩakahonokio.’
22 Men, Israelites! Hear these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man approved of God among you by mighty works, and wonders, and signs, that God did through Him in the midst of you, according as also you yourselves have known,
“Inyuĩ andũ aya a Isiraeli, thikĩrĩriai ũhoro ũyũ: Jesũ wa Nazarethi aarĩ mũndũ waheanĩtwo nĩ Ngai kũrĩ inyuĩ na ũndũ wa ciama, na morirũ, na cionereria, iria Ngai aaringire gatagatĩ-inĩ kanyu agereire harĩ we, o ta ũrĩa inyuĩ ene mũũĩ.
23 this One, by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, being given out, having been taken by lawless hands, having been crucified—you slew,
24 whom God raised up, having loosed the travails of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it;
No Ngai akĩmũriũkia kuuma kũrĩ arĩa akuũ, akĩmuohora ruo-inĩ rwa gĩkuũ, tondũ gũtingĩahotekire atũũre anyiitĩtwo nĩkĩo.
25 for David says in regard to Him: I foresaw the LORD always before me—Because He is on my right hand—That I may not be moved;
Tondũ Daudi oigire atĩrĩ ũhoro wake: “‘Nĩndonaga Mwathani arĩ mbere yakwa hĩndĩ ciothe. Tondũ arĩ guoko-inĩ gwakwa kwa ũrĩo-rĩ, ndingĩenyenyeka.
26 Because of this was my heart cheered, And my tongue was glad, And yet—my flesh will also rest on hope,
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ngoro yakwa nĩnjanjamũku, naruo rũrĩmĩ rwakwa rũgakena; o naguo mwĩrĩ wakwa nĩũgũtũũra ũrĩ na mwĩhoko,
27 Because You will not leave my soul to Hades, Nor will You give Your Holy One to see corruption; (Hadēs )
tondũ ndũkandiganĩria mbĩrĩra-inĩ, o na kana ũreke ũrĩa waku Mũtheru abuthe. (Hadēs )
28 You made known to me ways of life, You will fill me with joy with Your countenance.
Nĩũũmenyithĩtie njĩra cia muoyo; nĩũkanjiyũria gĩkeno ndĩ harĩa ũrĩ.’
29 Men, brothers! It is permitted to speak with freedom to you concerning the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us to this day;
“Ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ, no ndĩmwĩre ndĩ na ũũmĩrĩru atĩ ithe witũ Daudi nĩakuire na agĩthikwo, na mbĩrĩra yake ĩrĩ o gũkũ nginya ũmũthĩ ũyũ.
30 therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God swore to him with an oath, out of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Christ, to sit on his throne,
31 having foreseen, he spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left to Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. (Hadēs )
Nĩ ũndũ nĩamenyete ũhoro ũcio mbere, nĩaririe ũhoro wa kũriũka gwa Kristũ, atĩ ndaatiganĩirio mbĩrĩra-inĩ, o na kana mwĩrĩ wake ũkĩbutha. (Hadēs )
32 God raised up this Jesus, of which we are all witnesses;
Ngai nĩariũkĩtie Jesũ ũcio, na ithuĩ ithuothe tũrĩ aira a ũhoro ũcio.
33 then having been exalted at the right hand of God—also having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father—He poured forth this which you now see and hear;
34 for David did not go up into the heavens, and he says himself: The LORD says to my Lord, Sit at My right hand,
Nĩgũkorwo Daudi ndaambatire agĩthiĩ igũrũ, no nĩoigire atĩrĩ, “‘Mwathani nĩeerire Mwathani wakwa atĩrĩ: “Ikara guoko-inĩ gwakwa kwa ũrĩo,
35 Until I make Your enemies Your footstool;
o nginya rĩrĩa ngaatua thũ ciaku gaturwa ka makinya maku.”’
36 assuredly, therefore, let all the house of Israel know that God made Him both Lord and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified.”
“Nĩ ũndũ ũcio andũ othe a Isiraeli nĩmamenye atĩrĩ: Ngai nĩ atuĩte Jesũ, o ũcio mwambire, Mwathani na Kristũ.”
37 And having heard, they were pricked to the heart; they also say to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, “What will we do, men, brothers?”
Rĩrĩa andũ maiguire ũhoro ũcio, ũkĩmatheeca ngoro, makĩũria Petero na atũmwo acio angĩ atĩrĩ, “Ariũ a Baba, twagĩrĩirwo nĩ gwĩka atĩa?”
38 And Peter said to them, “Convert, and each of you be immersed on the Name of Jesus Christ, for forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit,
Nake Petero akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Mwĩrirei na mũbatithio mũndũ o mũndũ thĩinĩ wa rĩĩtwa rĩa Jesũ Kristũ, nĩguo mũrekerwo mehia manyu. Na inyuĩ nĩ mũkwamũkĩra kĩheo kĩa Roho Mũtheru.
39 for the promise is to you and to your children, and to all those far off, as many as the LORD our God will call.”
Kĩĩranĩro gĩkĩ nĩ kĩanyu na ciana cianyu, na andũ arĩa othe marĩ kũraya, na andũ arĩa othe Mwathani Ngai witũ ageeta moke harĩ we.”
40 Also with many more other words he was testifying and exhorting, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation”;
Akĩmataara na ciugo ingĩ nyingĩ, akĩmakaanagia; na akĩmathaitha, akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Mwĩhonokiei kuuma kũrĩ rũciaro rũrũ ruogomu.”
41 then those, indeed, who gladly received his word were immersed, and there were added on that day, as it were, three thousand souls,
Andũ arĩa meetĩkĩrire ndũmĩrĩri yake makĩbatithio, na mũthenya ũcio makĩongerereka andũ ta ngiri ithatũ.
42 and they were continuing steadfastly in the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of the bread, and the prayers.
43 And fear came on every soul, also many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles,
Andũ othe makĩiyũrwo nĩ guoya, nao atũmwo magĩĩka morirũ maingĩ, na makĩringa ciama.
44 and all those believing were at the same place, and had all things common,
Andũ arĩa othe meetĩkĩtie maarĩ hamwe, na nĩmagwatanagĩra indo ciothe.
45 and they were selling the possessions and the goods, and were parting them to all, according as anyone had need.
Makĩendia ithaka ciao na indo ciao, makaheaga mũndũ o wothe kũringana na bata wake.
46 Also continuing daily with one accord in the temple, also breaking bread at every house, they were partaking of food in gladness and simplicity of heart,
O mũthenya nĩmagomanaga hekarũ-inĩ. Nĩmenyũraga mũgate marĩ mĩciĩ-inĩ yao, na makarĩĩanĩra marĩ na gĩkeno, na marĩ na ngoro theru,
47 praising God, and having favor with all the people, and the LORD was adding those being saved every day to the Assembly.
makagoocaga Ngai, na magetĩkĩrĩka kũrĩ andũ othe. Nake Mwathani nĩongagĩrĩra thiritũ-inĩ yao andũ arĩa maahonokaga o mũthenya.
