Acts 2
1 And in the day of the Pentecost being fulfilled, they were all with one accord at the same place,
Le jour de la Pentecôte, ils étaient tous ensemble dans le même lieu.
2 and there came suddenly out of the sky a sound as of a violent rushing wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting,
Tout à coup, il vint du ciel un bruit semblable au souffle d'un grand vent, et il remplit toute la maison où ils étaient assis.
3 and there appeared to them divided tongues, as it were of fire; it also sat on each one of them,
Des langues semblables à des langues de feu apparurent et leur furent distribuées, et il y en eut une sur chacun d'eux.
4 and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, according as the Spirit was giving them to declare.
Ils furent tous remplis de l'Esprit Saint et se mirent à parler d'autres langues, selon que l'Esprit leur donnait la faculté de parler.
5 And there were Jews dwelling in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation of those under the heaven,
Or, il y avait à Jérusalem des Juifs, des hommes pieux, de toutes les nations qui sont sous le ciel.
6 and the rumor of this having come, the multitude came together, and was confounded, because they were, each one, hearing them speaking in his proper dialect,
Lorsque ce bruit se fit entendre, la foule s'assembla et fut déconcertée, car chacun les entendait parler dans sa propre langue.
7 and they were all amazed, and wondered, saying to one another, “Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?
Ils étaient tous stupéfaits et s'étonnaient, se disant les uns aux autres: « Voici, tous ceux qui parlent ne sont-ils pas Galiléens?
8 And how do we hear, each in our proper dialect, in which we were born?
Comment entendons-nous, chacun dans sa langue maternelle?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those dwelling in Mesopotamia, in Judea also, and Cappadocia, Pontus, and Asia,
Parthes, Mèdes, Élamites, gens de Mésopotamie, de Judée, de Cappadoce, du Pont, d'Asie,
10 Phrygia also, and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya that [are] along Cyrene, and the strangers of Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
de Phrygie, de Pamphylie, d'Égypte, des environs de Cyrène en Libye, des visiteurs de Rome, Juifs et prosélytes,
11 Cretes and Arabians, we heard them speaking the great things of God in our tongues.”
Crétois et Arabes, nous les entendons parler dans nos langues des merveilles de Dieu. »
12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying to one another, “What would this wish to be?”
Ils étaient tous stupéfaits et perplexes, se disant les uns aux autres: « Que signifie ceci? »
13 And others mocking said, “They are full of sweet wine”;
D'autres, se moquant, disaient: « Ils sont remplis de vin nouveau. »
14 and Peter having stood up with the Eleven, lifted up his voice and declared to them: “Men—Jews, and all those dwelling in Jerusalem! Let this be known to you, and listen to my sayings,
Mais Pierre, debout avec les onze, éleva la voix et leur dit: « Hommes de Judée et vous tous qui habitez à Jérusalem, sachez ceci et écoutez mes paroles.
15 for these are not drunken, as you take it up, for it is the third hour of the day.
Car ceux-ci ne sont pas ivres, comme vous le supposez, puisque ce n'est que la troisième heure du jour.
16 But this is that which has been spoken through the prophet Joel:
Mais voici ce qui a été annoncé par le prophète Joël:
17 And it will be in the last days, says God, I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh, And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, And your young men will see visions, And your old men will dream dreams;
« Il en sera ainsi dans les derniers jours, dit Dieu, que je répandrai mon Esprit sur toute chair. Vos fils et vos filles prophétiseront. Vos jeunes hommes auront des visions. Vos vieux hommes feront des rêves.
18 And also on My menservants, and on My maidservants, In those days, I will pour out of My Spirit, And they will prophesy;
Oui, et sur mes serviteurs et sur mes servantes en ces jours-là, Je répandrai mon Esprit, et ils prophétiseront.
19 And I will give wonders in the sky above, And signs on the earth beneath—Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke,
Je ferai apparaître des merveilles dans le ciel en haut, et des signes sur la terre en dessous: du sang, du feu et des nuages de fumée.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness, And the moon to blood, Before the coming of the Day of the LORD—the great and conspicuous;
Le soleil se changera en ténèbres, et la lune en sang, avant que le grand et glorieux jour du Seigneur n'arrive.
21 And it will be, everyone who, if he may have called on the Name of the LORD, will be saved.
Quiconque invoquera le nom du Seigneur sera sauvé.
22 Men, Israelites! Hear these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man approved of God among you by mighty works, and wonders, and signs, that God did through Him in the midst of you, according as also you yourselves have known,
« Hommes d'Israël, écoutez ces paroles! Jésus de Nazareth, homme approuvé par Dieu à vos yeux, par les miracles, les prodiges et les signes que Dieu a faits par lui au milieu de vous, comme vous le savez vous-mêmes,
23 this One, by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, being given out, having been taken by lawless hands, having been crucified—you slew,
lui qui, livré selon le dessein arrêté et la prescience de Dieu, a été pris par la main d'hommes sans loi, crucifié et tué,
24 whom God raised up, having loosed the travails of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it;
lui que Dieu a ressuscité, le délivrant du supplice de la mort, parce qu'il n'était pas possible qu'il fût retenu par elle.
25 for David says in regard to Him: I foresaw the LORD always before me—Because He is on my right hand—That I may not be moved;
Car David dit de lui, Je voyais le Seigneur toujours devant moi, car il est à ma droite, afin que je ne sois pas ébranlé.
26 Because of this was my heart cheered, And my tongue was glad, And yet—my flesh will also rest on hope,
C'est pourquoi mon cœur s'est réjoui, et ma langue s'est réjouie. De plus, ma chair aussi habitera dans l'espérance,
27 Because You will not leave my soul to Hades, Nor will You give Your Holy One to see corruption; (Hadēs g86)
car tu ne laisseras pas mon âme dans le séjour des morts, vous ne permettrez pas non plus à votre Saint de voir la pourriture. (Hadēs g86)
28 You made known to me ways of life, You will fill me with joy with Your countenance.
Tu m'as fait connaître les chemins de la vie. Tu me rempliras d'allégresse par ta présence ».
29 Men, brothers! It is permitted to speak with freedom to you concerning the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us to this day;
« Frères, je peux vous dire librement du patriarche David, qu'il est mort et qu'il a été enseveli, et que son tombeau est encore parmi nous aujourd'hui.
30 therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God swore to him with an oath, out of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Christ, to sit on his throne,
C'est pourquoi, étant prophète, et sachant que Dieu lui avait juré par serment que, du fruit de son corps, selon la chair, il susciterait le Christ pour qu'il s'asseye sur son trône,
31 having foreseen, he spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left to Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
il a, prévoyant cela, parlé de la résurrection du Christ, afin que son âme ne restât pas dans le séjour des morts et que sa chair ne vît pas la pourriture. (Hadēs g86)
32 God raised up this Jesus, of which we are all witnesses;
Ce Jésus, Dieu l'a ressuscité, ce dont nous sommes tous témoins.
33 then having been exalted at the right hand of God—also having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father—He poured forth this which you now see and hear;
Étant donc élevé par la droite de Dieu, et ayant reçu du Père la promesse du Saint-Esprit, il a répandu ce que vous voyez et entendez maintenant.
34 for David did not go up into the heavens, and he says himself: The LORD says to my Lord, Sit at My right hand,
Car David n'est pas monté aux cieux, mais il dit lui-même, Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur: « Assieds-toi à ma droite ».
35 Until I make Your enemies Your footstool;
jusqu'à ce que je fasse de vos ennemis un marchepied pour vos pieds. »
36 assuredly, therefore, let all the house of Israel know that God made Him both Lord and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified.”
« Que toute la maison d'Israël sache donc avec certitude que Dieu l'a fait à la fois Seigneur et Christ, ce Jésus que vous avez crucifié. »
37 And having heard, they were pricked to the heart; they also say to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, “What will we do, men, brothers?”
Ayant entendu cela, ils eurent le cœur brisé et dirent à Pierre et aux autres apôtres: « Frères, que ferons-nous? »
38 And Peter said to them, “Convert, and each of you be immersed on the Name of Jesus Christ, for forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit,
Pierre leur dit: « Repentez-vous et soyez baptisés, chacun de vous, au nom de Jésus-Christ, pour le pardon des péchés, et vous recevrez le don du Saint-Esprit.
39 for the promise is to you and to your children, and to all those far off, as many as the LORD our God will call.”
Car la promesse est pour vous, pour vos enfants, et pour tous ceux qui sont au loin, en aussi grand nombre que le Seigneur notre Dieu voudra appeler à lui. »
40 Also with many more other words he was testifying and exhorting, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation”;
Avec beaucoup d'autres paroles, il leur rendait témoignage et les exhortait en disant: « Sauvez-vous de cette génération perverse! »
41 then those, indeed, who gladly received his word were immersed, and there were added on that day, as it were, three thousand souls,
Alors ceux qui reçurent avec joie sa parole furent baptisés. En ce jour-là, il y eut environ trois mille âmes de plus.
42 and they were continuing steadfastly in the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of the bread, and the prayers.
Ils persévéraient dans l'enseignement des apôtres et dans la communion fraternelle, dans la fraction du pain et dans la prière.
43 And fear came on every soul, also many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles,
La crainte s'empara de tous, et il se fit beaucoup de prodiges et de miracles par les apôtres.
44 and all those believing were at the same place, and had all things common,
Tous ceux qui croyaient étaient ensemble, et avaient tout en commun.
45 and they were selling the possessions and the goods, and were parting them to all, according as anyone had need.
Ils vendaient leurs biens et leurs propriétés, et les distribuaient à tous, selon les besoins de chacun.
46 Also continuing daily with one accord in the temple, also breaking bread at every house, they were partaking of food in gladness and simplicity of heart,
Chaque jour, persévérant d'un commun accord dans le temple, et rompant le pain dans les maisons, ils prenaient leur nourriture avec joie et simplicité de cœur,
47 praising God, and having favor with all the people, and the LORD was adding those being saved every day to the Assembly.
louaient Dieu et avaient la faveur de tout le peuple. Le Seigneur ajoutait chaque jour à l'assemblée ceux qui étaient sauvés.
