< Acts 15 >
1 And certain having come down from Judea, were teaching the brothers, “If you are not circumcised after the custom of Moses, you are not able to be saved”;
Awo ne wajja abantu abamu abaava mu Buyudaaya ne bayigiriza abooluganda nti, “Ssinga temukomolebwa ng’akalombolombo ka Musa bwe kali temuyinza kulokolebwa.”
2 there having been, therefore, not a little dissension and debate to Paul and Barnabas with them, they arranged for Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of them, to go up to the apostles and elders to Jerusalem about this question;
Pawulo ne Balunabba ne bawakana nnyo nabo ku nsonga eyo ne kisalibwawo nti Pawulo ne Balunabba n’abamu ku bakkiriza ab’omu Antiyokiya, batwale ensonga eyo eri abatume n’abakadde b’Ekkanisa mu Yerusaalemi.
3 they indeed, then, having been sent forward by the assembly, were passing through Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the nations, and they were causing great joy to all the brothers.
Ababaka ne bakwata ery’e Yerusaalemi, ne bayimirirako mu kibuga ky’e Fayiniikiya n’e Samaliya okukyalira abakkiriza mu bibuga ebyo n’okubategeeza ng’Abamawanga bangi bwe baakyuka ne bakkiriza. Ebigambo ebyo ne bisanyusa nnyo abooluganda.
4 And having come to Jerusalem, they were received by the assembly, and the apostles, and the elders; they also declared as many things as God did with them;
Bwe baatuuka mu Yerusaalemi ne baanirizibwa ekkanisa, abatume n’abakadde b’Ekkanisa bonna. Ne babategeeza byonna Katonda bye yabakozesa.
5 and there rose up certain of those of the sect of the Pharisees who believed, saying, “It is required to circumcise them, to command them also to keep the Law of Moses.”
Naye abamu ku bakkiriza, ab’omu kibiina ky’Abafalisaayo, ne basituka ne bagamba nti Abaamawanga bonna abakkiriza bateekwa okukomolebwa nga bwe kiri mu mateeka ga Musa, era n’okugoberera obulombolombo bwonna ng’empisa z’Ekiyudaaya bwe ziragira.
6 And there were gathered together the apostles and the elders, to see about this matter,
Awo abatume n’abakadde b’Ekkanisa ne bakuŋŋaana bateese ku nsonga eyo.
7 and there having been much disputing, Peter having risen up said to them, “Men, brothers, you know that from former days God made choice among us, through my mouth, for the nations to hear the word of the good news, and to believe;
Oluvannyuma nga bateeserezza ebbanga ggwanvu, Peetero n’asituka n’abagamba nti, “Abooluganda, mwenna mumanyi nga Katonda yannonda dda mu mmwe mu nnaku ezaasooka, mbuulire Enjiri mu baamawanga nabo bakkirize.
8 and the heart-knowing God bore them testimony, having given to them the Holy Spirit, even as also to us,
Era Katonda amanyi emitima gy’abantu, yayaniriza Abaamawanga ng’abawa Mwoyo Mutukuvu nga naffe bwe yatumuwa.
9 and also put no difference between us and them, having purified their hearts by faith;
Teyabasosola kubanga bwe baamala okukkiriza, obulamu bwabwe n’abunaaza ng’obwaffe bwe yabunaaza.
10 now, therefore, why do you tempt God, to put a yoke on the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
Kale kaakano, lwaki mwagala okukema Katonda nga mukakaatika ekikoligo mu bulago bw’abayigirizwa, kye mumanyi nga bajjajjaffe kyabakaluubirira era naffe kitukaluubirira okwetikka?
11 But through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we believe to be saved, even as also they.”
Tukkiriza nti tulokolebwa lwa kisa kya Mukama waffe Yesu, era n’abamawanga bwe batyo bwe balokolebwa.”
12 And all the multitude kept silence and were listening to Barnabas and Paul expounding as many signs and wonders as God did among the nations through them;
Ekibiina kyonna ne kisiriikirira ne bawuliriza Balunabba ne Pawulo nga babategeeza eby’amagero n’obubonero Katonda bye yabakozesa nga bali ku mulimu gwe mu baamawanga.
13 and after they were silent, James answered, saying, “Men, brothers, listen to me:
Bwe baamala okwogera, Yakobo n’agamba nti, “Abasajja abooluganda, mumpulirize.
14 Simeon expounded how at first God looked on [us] to take a people out of [the] nations for His Name,
Simooni abategeezezza ng’okusookera ddala Katonda bwe yakyalira Abaamawanga ne yeeronderamu abo ab’okuweesa erinnya lye ekitiibwa.
15 and to this the words of the Prophets agree, as it has been written:
Era kino kituukiriza bannabbi bye baayogera ng’Ekyawandiikibwa bwe kigamba nti,
16 After these things I will return, And I will rebuild the dwelling place of David that has fallen down, And I will rebuild its ruins, And will set it upright—
“‘Oluvannyuma lwa bino ndikomawo, ne nziddaabiriza ennyumba ya Dawudi eyagwa. Ndiddaabiriza ebifo ebyamenyebwamenyebwa. Ndigizaawo,
17 That the remnant of men may seek after the LORD, And all the nations on whom My Name has been called, Says the LORD, who is doing all these things.
n’abantu abalala basobole okunoonya Mukama, era n’abamawanga be nayita okuba abantu bange.
18 Known from the ages to God are all His works. (aiōn )
Bw’atyo bw’ayogera Mukama, alaga entegeka ye okuviira ddala ku ntandikwa y’ensi.’ (aiōn )
19 For this reason I judge: not to trouble those who turn back to God from the nations,
“Kyenva nsalawo nti, Tetusaana kutikka baamawanga abakkiriza Katonda mugugu munene nga tubawaliriza okukwata obulombolombo bwaffe obw’Ekiyudaaya.
20 but to write to them to abstain from the defilements of the idols, and the whoredom, and the strangled thing, and the blood;
Wabula tubawandiikire tubategeeze beewale okulya ennyama eya ssaddaaka eweebwayo eri bakatonda abalala, beewale obwenzi n’okulya ennyama ey’ebisolo ebitugiddwa, era beewale okulya n’omusaayi.
21 for Moses has those preaching him from former generations in every city—being read every Sabbath in the synagogues.”
Kubanga ebintu byonna biri mu mateeka ga Musa, era bibuulirwa mu makuŋŋaaniro g’Abayudaaya mu buli kibuga buli lunaku lwa Ssabbiiti ebbanga lyonna.”
22 Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, to send to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas chosen men out of themselves—Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers—
Awo abatume n’abakadde b’Ekkanisa n’abooluganda bonna mu Kkanisa ne bateesa okutuma ababaka bagende ne Pawulo ne Balunabba mu Antiyokiya okubategeeza kye basazeewo. Abasajja abaalondebwa nga bakulembeze mu Kkanisa baali: Yuda (era gwe bayita Balusaba) ne Siira.
23 having written through their hand thus: “The apostles, and the elders, and the brothers, to those in Antioch, and Syria, and Cilicia, brothers, who [are] of the nations, greeting;
Ne baweebwa ebbaluwa gye baatwala ng’esoma bw’eti: Ffe abatume, n’abakadde b’ekkanisa, Eri abooluganda, mu Antiyokiya yonna ne Siriya ne Kirukiya: Abooluganda tubalamusizza.
24 seeing we have heard that some having gone forth from us troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying to be circumcised and to keep the Law, to whom we gave no charge,
Tuwulidde nti abamu ku booluganda baava wano ne bajja eyo nga si ffe tubatumye, ne boogera nammwe ebigambo ebyabatabulatabula mu kukkiriza kwammwe ne bibakeŋŋentereza emitima.
25 it seemed good to us, having come together with one accord, to send to you chosen men, with our beloved Barnabas and Paul—
Kyetuvudde tuteesa ffenna, era ne tukkiriziganya bumu, okubatumira ababaka baffe bajjire wamu n’abaagalwa baffe, Balunabba ne Pawulo,
26 men who have given up their lives for the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ—
abasajja abeewaddeyo okuweereza Mukama waffe Yesu Kristo nga tebabalirira bulamu bwabwe.
27 we have sent, therefore, Judas and Silas, and they are telling the same things by word.
Tubatumidde Yuda ne Siira bongere okubannyonnyola n’akamwa ebyo ebiri mu bbaluwa eno.
28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay no more burden on you, except these necessary things:
Kubanga kwe kuteesa kwa Mwoyo Mutukuvu, era naffe, nga tekisaanira kubatikka migugu gya bwereere egiteetaagibwa, wabula musaana okugoberera bino:
29 to abstain from things offered to idols, and blood, and a strangled thing, and whoredom; keeping yourselves from which, you will do well; be strong!”
Mwewalenga ennyama ettiddwa olw’okuweebwayo eri bakatonda abalala, mwewalenga n’okulya omusaayi, era n’ennyama ey’ebisolo ebitugiddwa, era mwewalenga obwenzi. Bwe muneegendereza ne mwewala ebintu ebyo, munaaba mukoze bulungi. Mweraba.
30 They then, indeed, having been let go, went to Antioch, and having brought the multitude together, delivered the letter,
Awo abaatumibwa ne basitula ne bagenda mu Antiyokiya, ne bakuŋŋaanya ekibiina ky’abakkiriza ne babakwasa ebbaluwa eyo.
31 and having read [it] they rejoiced for the consolation;
Bwe baagisoma, essanyu ne liba jjitirivu mu Kkanisa yonna olw’ebyo ebyagirimu.
32 Judas also and Silas, also being prophets themselves, through much discourse exhorted the brothers, and confirmed,
Awo Yuda ne Siira, olwokubanga baali bannabbi, ne boogerera ebbanga ggwanvu nga bakubiriza abooluganda okunyweza okukkiriza kwabwe.
33 and having passed some time, they were let go with peace from the brothers to the apostles;
Awo Yuda ne Siira ne bamalayo ennaku ntonotono ne basiibula okuddayo eri abaabatuma. Abooluganda ne babatuma okulamusa abali mu Yerusaalemi n’okubeebaza olw’obubaka bwe baabaweereza.
34 [[and it seemed good to Silas to remain there still.]]
Naye Siira n’asalawo okusigalayo.
35 And Paul and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and proclaiming good news—with many others also—the word of the LORD;
Pawulo ne Balunabba ne babeera mu Antiyokiya okumala ebbanga nga bakolera wamu n’abalala nga babuuliira Enjiri era n’okuyigiriza.
36 and after certain days, Paul said to Barnabas, “Having turned back again, we may look after our brothers, in every city in which we have preached the word of the LORD—how they are.”
Awo nga wayiseewo ennaku Pawulo n’agamba Balunabba baddeyo mu bibuga gye baabuulira Enjiri, bagende nga bakyalira abooluganda, balabe nga bwe bali.
37 And Barnabas resolved to take with [them] John called Mark,
Balunabba n’akkiriza, wabula n’ayagala ne Yokaana Makko agende nabo.
38 and Paul was not thinking it good to take him with them who withdrew from them from Pamphylia, and did not go with them to the work;
Naye Pawulo ekyo n’atakyagala, kubanga Makko yabaawukanako n’abaleka e Panfuliya ng’omulimu ogwabatwala tebannagumaliriza.
39 there came, therefore, a sharp contention, so that they were parted from one another, and Barnabas having taken Mark, sailed to Cyprus,
Ne balemwa okukkiriziganya mu nsonga eyo, n’ekyavaamu kwe kwawukana. Balunabba n’atwala Makko ne basaabala ku nnyanja okulaga mu Kupulo.
40 and Paul having chosen Silas, went forth, having been given up to the grace of God by the brothers;
Pawulo n’alonda Siira, abooluganda ne bamusabira ekisa kya Mukama mu lugendo lwe.
41 and he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the assemblies.
Ne bayita mu Siriya ne mu Kirukiya nga bagenda bagumya ekkanisa.
