Acts 1
1 The former account, indeed, I made concerning all things, O Theophilus, that Jesus began both to do and to teach,
ऐ थियुफ़िलुस मैने पहली किताब उन सब बातों के बयान में लिखी जो ईसा शुरू; में करता और सिखाता रहा।
2 until the day in which, having given command through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He chose out, He was taken up,
उस दिन तक जिसमें वो उन रसूलों को जिन्हें उसने चुना था रूह — उल — क़ुद्दूस के वसीले से हुक्म देकर ऊपर उठाया गया।
3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, in many certain proofs, being seen by them through forty days, and speaking the things concerning the Kingdom of God.
ईसा ने तकलीफ़ सहने के बाद बहुत से सबूतों से अपने आपको उन पर ज़िन्दा ज़ाहिर भी किया, चुनाँचे वो चालीस दिन तक उनको नज़र आता और ख़ुदा की बादशाही की बातें कहता रहा।
4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, “Which you heard from Me;
और उनसे मिलकर उन्हें हुक्म दिया, “येरूशलेम से बाहर न जाओ, बल्कि बाप के उस वा'दे के पूरा होने का इन्तिज़ार करो, जिसके बारे में तुम मुझ से सुन चुके हो,
5 because John, indeed, immersed in water, but you will be immersed in the Holy Spirit not many days after these.”
क्यूँकि युहन्ना ने तो पानी से बपतिस्मा दिया मगर तुम थोड़े दिनों के बाद रूह — उल — क़ुद्दूस से बपतिस्मा पाओगे।”
6 They, therefore, indeed, having come together, were questioning Him, saying, “Lord, do You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”
पस उन्होंने इकट्ठा होकर पूछा, “ऐ ख़ुदावन्द! क्या तू इसी वक़्त इस्राईल को बादशाही फिर' अता करेगा?”
7 And He said to them, “It is not yours to know times or seasons that the Father appointed in His own authority;
उसने उनसे कहा, “उन वक़्तों और मी'आदों का जानना, जिन्हें बाप ने अपने ही इख़्तियार में रख्खा है, तुम्हारा काम नहीं।
8 but you will receive power at the coming of the Holy Spirit on you, and you will be witnesses for Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
लेकिन जब रूह — उल — क़ुद्दूस तुम पर नाज़िल होगा तो तुम ताक़त पाओगे; और येरूशलेम और तमाम यहूदिया और सामरिया में, बल्कि ज़मीन के आख़ीर तक मेरे गवाह होगे।”
9 And having said these things—they beholding—He was taken up, and a cloud received Him up from their sight;
ये कहकर वो उनको देखते देखते ऊपर उठा लिया गया, और बादलों ने उसे उनकी नज़रों से छिपा लिया।
10 and as they were looking steadfastly to the sky in His going on, then, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,
उसके जाते वक़्त वो आसमान की तरफ़ ग़ौर से देख रहे थे, तो देखो, दो मर्द सफ़ेद पोशाक पहने उनके पास आ खड़े हुए,
11 who also said, “Men, Galileans, why do you stand gazing into the sky? This Jesus who was received up from you into Heaven, will so come in what manner you saw Him going on to Heaven.”
और कहने लगे, “ऐ गलीली मर्दो। तुम क्यूँ खड़े आसमान की तरफ़ देखते हो? यही ईसा जो तुम्हारे पास से आसमान पर उठाया गया है, इसी तरह फिर आएगा जिस तरह तुम ने उसे आसमान पर जाते देखा है।”
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from [that] called the Mount of Olives, that is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath’s journey;
तब वो उस पहाड़ से जो ज़ैतून का कहलाता है और येरूशलेम के नज़दीक सबत की मन्ज़िल के फ़ासले पर है येरूशलेम को फिरे।
13 and when they came in, they went up into the upper room, where were abiding both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James, of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas, of James;
और जब उसमें दाख़िल हुए तो उस बालाख़ाने पर चढ़े जिस में वो या'नी पतरस और यूहन्ना, और या'क़ूब और अन्द्रियास और फ़िलिप्पुस, तोमा, बरतुल्माई, मत्ती, हलफ़ी का बेटा या'क़ूब, शमौन ज़ेलोतेस और या'क़ूब का बेटा यहूदाह रहते थे।
14 these were all continuing with one accord in prayer and supplication, with women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
ये सब के सब चन्द 'औरतों और ईसा की माँ मरियम और उसके भाइयों के साथ एक दिल होकर दुआ में मशग़ूल रहे।
15 And in these days, Peter having risen up in the midst of the disciples, said (also the multitude of the names at the same place was, as it were, one hundred and twenty),
उन्हीं दिनों पतरस भाइयों में जो तक़रीबन एक सौ बीस शख़्सों की जमा'अत थी खड़ा होकर कहने लगा,
16 “Men, brothers, it was necessary [for] this Writing to be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand through the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus,
“ऐ भाइयों उस नबुव्वत का पूरा होना ज़रूरी था जो रूह — उल — क़ुद्दूस ने दाऊद के ज़बानी उस यहूदा के हक़ में पहले कहा था, जो ईसा के पकड़ने वालों का रहनुमा हुआ।
17 because he was numbered among us, and received the share in this ministry.
क्यूँकि वो हम में शुमार किया गया और उस ने इस ख़िदमत का हिस्सा पाया।”
18 (This one, indeed, then, purchased a field out of the reward of unrighteousness, and falling headlong, burst apart in the midst, and all his bowels gushed forth,
उस ने बदकारी की कमाई से एक खेत ख़रीदा, और सिर के बल गिरा और उसका पेट फट गया और उसकी सब आँतड़ीयां निकल पड़ीं।
19 and it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem, insomuch that this place is called, in their proper dialect, Aceldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
और ये येरूशलेम के सब रहने वालों को मा'लूम हुआ, यहाँ तक कि उस खेत का नाम उनकी ज़बान में हैक़लेदमा पड़ गया या'नी [ख़ून का खेत]।
20 For it has been written in [the] Scroll of Psalms: Let his lodging-place become desolate, and let no one be dwelling in it, and let another take his oversight.
क्यूँकि ज़बूर में लिखा है, 'उसका घर उजड़ जाए, और उसमें कोई बसने वाला न रहे और उसका मर्तबा दुसरा ले ले।
21 It is necessary, therefore, of the men who went with us during all the time in which the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us,
पस जितने 'अर्से तक ख़ुदावन्द ईसा हमारे साथ आता जाता रहा, यानी यूहन्ना के बपतिस्मे से लेकर ख़ुदावन्द के हमारे पास से उठाए जाने तक — जो बराबर हमारे साथ रहे,
22 beginning from the immersion of John, to the day in which He was received up from us, one of these to become with us a witness of His resurrection.”
चाहिए कि उन में से एक आदमी हमारे साथ उसके जी उठने का गवाह बने।
23 And they set two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias,
फिर उन्होंने दो को पेश किया। एक यूसुफ़ को जो बरसब्बा कहलाता है और जिसका लक़ब यूसतुस है। दूसरा मत्तय्याह को।
24 and having prayed, they said, “You, LORD, who are knowing the heart of all, show which one You chose of these two,
और ये कह कर दुआ की, “ऐ ख़ुदावन्द! तू जो सब के दिलों को जानता है, ये ज़ाहिर कर कि इन दोनों में से तूने किस को चुना है
25 to receive the share of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas, by transgression, fell, to go on to his proper place”;
ताकि वह इस ख़िदमत और रसूलों की जगह ले, जिसे यहूदाह छोड़ कर अपनी जगह गया।”
26 and they gave their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
फिर उन्होंने उनके बारे में पर्ची डाली, और पर्ची मत्तय्याह के नाम की निकली। पस वो उन ग्यारह रसूलों के साथ शुमार किया गया।
