2 Timothy 1
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, according to a promise of life that [is] in Christ Jesus,
Paulo, apostolo de Jesus Christo, pela vontade de Deus, segundo a promessa da vida que está em Christo Jesus,
2 to Timotheus, beloved child: Grace, kindness, peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord!
A Timotheo, meu amado filho: graça, misericordia, e paz da parte de Deus Pae, e da de Christo Jesus Senhor nosso.
3 I am thankful to God, whom I serve from progenitors in a pure conscience, that I unceasingly have remembrance concerning you in my supplications night and day,
Dou graças a Deus, a quem desde os meus antepassados sirvo com uma consciencia pura, de que sem cessar faço memoria de ti nas minhas orações noite e dia
4 desiring to see you greatly, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy,
Desejando muito vêr-te, lembrando-me de tuas lagrimas, para me encher de gozo:
5 taking remembrance of the unhypocritical faith that is in you, that first dwelt in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded that also in you.
Trazendo á memoria a fé não fingida que em ti ha, a qual habitou primeiro em tua avó Loide, e em tua mãe Eunice, e estou certo de que tambem habita em ti.
6 For which cause I remind you to stir up the gift of God that is in you through the putting on of my hands,
Por cujo motivo te lembro que despertes o dom de Deus que existe em ti pela imposição das minhas mãos.
7 for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind;
Porque Deus não nos deu o espirito de temor, mas de fortaleza, e de amor, e de moderação.
8 therefore you may not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but you suffer evil along with the good news according to the power of God,
Portanto não te envergonhes do testemunho de nosso Senhor, nem de mim, que sou prisioneiro seu; antes participa das afflicções do evangelho segundo o poder de Deus,
9 who saved us, and called with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, that was given to us in Christ Jesus, before the times of the ages, (aiōnios g166)
O qual nos salvou, e chamou com uma sancta vocação; não segundo as nossas obras, mas segundo o seu proprio proposito e graça que nos foi dada em Christo Jesus antes dos tempos dos seculos; (aiōnios g166)
10 and was made visible now through the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who indeed abolished death, and enlightened life and immortality through the good news,
Mas agora é manifesta pela apparição de nosso Salvador Jesus Christo, o qual aboliu a morte, e trouxe á luz a vida e a incorrupção pelo evangelho;
11 to which I was placed a preacher and an apostle, and a teacher of nations,
Para o que fui constituido prégador, e apostolo, e doutor dos gentios.
12 for which cause these things I also suffer, but I am not ashamed, for I have known in whom I have believed, and have been persuaded that He is able to guard that which I have committed to Him—to that day.
Por cuja causa padeço tambem estas coisas, porém não me envergonho; porque eu sei em quem tenho crido, e estou certo de que é poderoso para guardar o meu deposito até áquelle dia.
13 Hold the pattern of sound words, which you heard from me, in faith and love that [is] in Christ Jesus;
Conserva o exemplar das sãs palavras que de mim tens ouvido, na fé e na caridade que ha em Christo Jesus.
14 guard the good thing committed through the Holy Spirit that is dwelling in us;
Guarda o bom deposito pelo Espirito Sancto que habita em nós.
15 you have known this, that they turned from me—all those in Asia, of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes;
Bem sabes isto, que os que estão na Asia todos se apartaram de mim; entre os quaes foram Phygelo e Hermogenes.
16 may the LORD give kindness to the house of Onesiphorus, because he refreshed me many times, and was not ashamed of my chain,
O Senhor faça misericordia á casa de Onesiphoro, porque muitas vezes me recreou, e não se envergonhou das minhas cadeias.
17 but being in Rome, he sought me very diligently and found [me];
Antes, vindo elle a Roma, com muito cuidado me procurou e me achou.
18 may the LORD give to him to find kindness from the LORD in that day; and you very well know how much he ministered in Ephesus.
O Senhor lhe conceda que n'aquelle dia ache misericordia diante do Senhor. E, quanto me ajudou em Epheso, melhor o sabes tu.
