< 2 Timothy 4 >

1 I fully testify, then, before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is about to judge [the] living and dead at His appearing and His Kingdom—
Ishvarasya gochare yashcha yIshuH khrIShTaH svIyAgamanakAle svarAjatvena jIvatAM mR^itAnA ncha lokAnAM vichAraM kariShyati tasya gochare. ahaM tvAm idaM dR^iDham Aj nApayAmi|
2 preach the word; be earnest in season, out of season; convict, rebuke, exhort, in all long-suffering and teaching,
tvaM vAkyaM ghoShaya kAle. akAle chotsuko bhava pUrNayA sahiShNutayA shikShayA cha lokAn prabodhaya bhartsaya vinayasva cha|
3 for there will be a season when they will not endure the sound teaching, but they will heap up teachers according to their own desires—having an itching ear,
yata etAdR^ishaH samaya AyAti yasmin lokA yathArtham upadesham asahyamAnAH karNakaNDUyanavishiShTA bhUtvA nijAbhilAShAt shikShakAn saMgrahIShyanti
4 and, indeed, they will turn away from hearing the truth, and they will be turned aside to the fables.
satyamatAchcha shrotrANi nivarttya vipathagAmino bhUtvopAkhyAneShu pravarttiShyante;
5 But you—watch in all things; suffer evil; do the work of one proclaiming good news; make full assurance of your ministry,
kintu tvaM sarvvaviShaye prabuddho bhava duHkhabhogaM svIkuru susaMvAdaprachArakasya karmma sAdhaya nijaparicharyyAM pUrNatvena kuru cha|
6 for I am already being poured out, and the time of my release has arrived;
mama prANAnAm utsargo bhavati mama prasthAnakAlashchopAtiShThat|
7 I have striven the good strife, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;
aham uttamayuddhaM kR^itavAn gantavyamArgasyAntaM yAvad dhAvitavAn vishvAsa ncha rakShitavAn|
8 from now on there is laid up for me the garland of righteousness that the LORD—the Righteous Judge—will give to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to all those loving His appearing.
sheShaM puNyamukuTaM madarthaM rakShitaM vidyate tachcha tasmin mahAdine yathArthavichArakeNa prabhunA mahyaM dAyiShyate kevalaM mahyam iti nahi kintu yAvanto lokAstasyAgamanam AkA NkShante tebhyaH sarvvebhyo. api dAyiShyate|
9 Be diligent to come to me quickly,
tvaM tvarayA matsamIpam AgantuM yatasva,
10 for Demas forsook me, having loved the present age, and went on to Thessalonica, Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia; (aiōn g165)
yato dImA aihikasaMsAram IhamAno mAM parityajya thiShalanIkIM gatavAn tathA krIShki rgAlAtiyAM gatavAn tItashcha dAlmAtiyAM gatavAn| (aiōn g165)
11 only Lucas is with me; having taken Mark, bring [him] with you, for he is profitable to me for ministry;
kevalo lUko mayA sArddhaM vidyate| tvaM mArkaM sa NginaM kR^itvAgachCha yataH sa paricharyyayA mamopakArI bhaviShyati,
12 and I sent Tychicus to Ephesus;
tukhika nchAham iphiShanagaraM preShitavAn|
13 coming, bring the cloak that I left in Troas with Carpus and the scrolls—especially the parchments.
yad AchChAdanavastraM troyAnagare kArpasya sannidhau mayA nikShiptaM tvamAgamanasamaye tat pustakAni cha visheShatashcharmmagranthAn Anaya|
14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil; may the LORD repay to him according to his works,
kAMsyakAraH sikandaro mama bahvaniShTaM kR^itavAn prabhustasya karmmaNAM samuchitaphalaM dadAtu|
15 of whom you also beware, for he has greatly stood against our words;
tvamapi tasmAt sAvadhAnAstiShTha yataH so. asmAkaM vAkyAnAm atIva vipakSho jAtaH|
16 no one stood with me in my first defense, but all forsook me (may it not be reckoned to them),
mama prathamapratyuttarasamaye ko. api mama sahAyo nAbhavat sarvve mAM paryyatyajan tAn prati tasya doShasya gaNanA na bhUyAt;
17 but the LORD stood by me, and strengthened me, that the preaching might be fully assured through me, and all the nations might hear, and I was freed out of the mouth of a lion,
kintu prabhu rmama sahAyo. abhavat yathA cha mayA ghoShaNA sAdhyeta bhinnajAtIyAshcha sarvve susaMvAdaM shR^iNuyustathA mahyaM shaktim adadAt tato. ahaM siMhasya mukhAd uddhR^itaH|
18 and the LORD will free me from every evil work, and will save [me]—to His heavenly kingdom; to whom [is] the glory through the ages of the ages! Amen. (aiōn g165)
aparaM sarvvasmAd duShkarmmataH prabhu rmAm uddhariShyati nijasvargIyarAjyaM netuM mAM tArayiShyati cha| tasya dhanyavAdaH sadAkAlaM bhUyAt| Amen| (aiōn g165)
19 Greet Prisca and Aquilas, and Onesiphorus’ household;
tvaM priShkAm Akkilam anIShipharasya parijanAMshcha namaskuru|
20 Erastus remained in Corinth, and I left Trophimus ailing in Miletus;
irAstaH karinthanagare. atiShThat traphimashcha pIDitatvAt milItanagare mayA vyahIyata|
21 be diligent to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brothers.
tvaM hemantakAlAt pUrvvam AgantuM yatasva| ubUlaH pUdi rlInaH klaudiyA sarvve bhrAtarashcha tvAM namaskurvvate|
22 The Lord Jesus Christ [is] with your spirit. The grace [is] with you! Amen.
prabhu ryIshuH khrIShTastavAtmanA saha bhUyAt| yuShmAsvanugraho bhUyAt| Amen|
