2 Samuel 9
1 And David says, “Is there yet any left of the house of Saul, and I do with him kindness because of Jonathan?”
Et David dit: Penses-tu qu’il y ait quelqu’un qui soit resté de la maison de Saül, afin que je lui fasse miséricorde à cause de Jonathas?
2 And the house of Saul has a servant, and his name [is] Ziba, and they call for him to David; and the king says to him, “Are you Ziba?” And he says, “Your servant.”
Or il y avait de la maison de Saül un serviteur du nom de Siba; lorsque le roi l’eut appelé près de lui, il lui dit: Es-tu Siba? Et celui-ci répondit: Oui, je suis votre serviteur.
3 And the king says, “Is there not yet a man of the house of Saul, and I do with him the kindness of God?” And Ziba says to the king, “Jonathan has yet a son—lame.”
Et le roi reprit: Est-ce qu’il reste quelqu’un de la maison de Saül, afin que j’use envers lui de la miséricorde de Dieu? Et Siba répondit au roi: Il reste le fils de Jonathas, infirme des pieds.
4 And the king says to him, “Where [is] he?” And Ziba says to the king, “Behold, he [is] in the house of Machir, son of Ammiel, in Behold-Debar.”
Où est-il? demanda David. Et Siba au roi: Voilà, répondit-il, qu’il est dans la maison de Machir, fils d’Ammiel, à Lodabar.
5 And King David sends, and takes him out of the house of Machir son of Ammiel, of Behold-Debar,
Le roi David envoya donc, et le fit venir de la maison de Machir, fils d’Ammiel, de Lodabar.
6 and Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, son of Saul, comes to David, and falls on his face, and pays respect, and David says, “Mephibosheth”; and he says, “Behold, your servant.”
Mais lorsque Miphiboseth, fils de Jonathas, fils de Saül, fut venu près de David, il tomba sur sa face et se prosterna. Et David lui dit: Miphiboseth. Lequel répondit: Me voici, votre serviteur.
7 And David says to him, “Do not be afraid; for I certainly do with you kindness because of your father Jonathan, and have given back to you all the field of your father Saul, and you continually eat bread at my table.”
Et David lui dit: Ne crains point, parce que je te ferai entièrement miséricorde, à cause de Jonathas, ton père, et je te rendrai tous les champs de Saül, ton père, et tu mangeras toujours du pain à ma table.
8 And he bows himself and says, “What [is] your servant, that you have turned to the dead dog—such as I?”
Miphiboseth, se prosternant devant lui, dit: Qui suis-je, moi votre serviteur, pour que vous ayez regardé un chien mort, semblable à moi?
9 And the king calls to Ziba servant of Saul and says to him, “All that was of Saul and of all his house, I have given to the son of your lord,
C’est pourquoi le roi appela Siba, serviteur de David, et lui dit: J’ai donné au fils de ton maître tout ce qui était à Saül, et toute sa maison.
10 and you have served the land for him, you and your sons, and your servants, and have brought in, and there has been bread for the son of your lord, and he has eaten it; and Mephibosheth, son of your lord, continually eats bread at my table”; and Ziba has fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Laboure donc la terre pour lui, toi, tes fils et tes serviteurs; et tu apporteras au fils de ton maître des aliments pour se nourrir; mais Miphiboseth, fils de ton maître, mangera toujours du pain à ma table. Or Siba avait quinze fils et vingt serviteurs.
11 And Ziba says to the king, “According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so your servant does.” “As for Mephibosheth,” [says the king, ] “he is eating at my table as one of the sons of the king.”
Et Siba dit au roi: Comme vous avez commandé, mon maître, le roi, à votre serviteur, ainsi fera votre serviteur; et Miphiboseth mangera à ma table, comme l’un des fils du roi.
12 And Mephibosheth has a young son, and his name [is] Micha, and everyone dwelling in the house of Ziba [are] servants to Mephibosheth.
Or, Miphiboseth avait un fils très jeune, du nom de Micha; et toute la parenté de la maison de Siba servait Miphiboseth.
13 And Mephibosheth is dwelling in Jerusalem, for he is continually eating at the table of the king, and he [is] lame [in] his two feet.
Et Miphiboseth habitait à Jérusalem, parce qu’il était nourri habituellement de la table du roi; et il était boiteux de l’un et de l’autre pied.
