2 Samuel 8
1 And it comes to pass afterward that David strikes the Philistines, and humbles them, and David takes the bridle of the metropolis out of the hand of the Philistines.
I stało się potem, że poraził Dawid Filistyny, i poniżył je; a wziął Dawid Meteg Amma z rąk Filistyńskich.
2 And he strikes Moab, and measures them with a line, causing them to lie down on the earth, and he measures two lines to put to death, and the fullness of the line to keep alive, and the Moabites are for servants to David, bearers of a present.
Poraził też i Moabity, które pomierzył sznurem, zrównawszy je z ziemią, i wymierzył ich dwa sznury na zabicie, a cały sznur na zachowanie przy żywocie; i byli Moabitowie sługami Dawidowymi, przynosząc mu podatki.
3 And David strikes Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, in his going to bring back his power by the River [Euphrates];
Poraził też Dawid Hadadezera, syna Rochobowego, króla Soby, gdy wyjechał, aby rozprzestrzenił granice swe nad rzeką Eufrates.
4 and David captures from him one thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David utterly destroys the whole of the charioteers; he leaves only one hundred of their charioteers.
I pojmał z nich Dawid tysiąc i siedm set jezdnych, a dwadzieście tysięcy ludu pieszego. I poderznął Dawid żyły wszystkim woźnikom, zachowawszy koni do sta wozów.
5 And Aram of Damascus comes to give help to Hadadezer king of Zobah, and David strikes twenty-two thousand men of Aram;
Przyciągnął tedy Syryjczyk z Damaszku na pomoc Hadadezerowi, królowi Soby, i poraził Dawid Syryjczyków dwadzieścia i dwa tysiące mężów.
6 and David puts garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and Aram is for a servant to David, carrying a present; and YHWH saves David wherever he has gone;
I osadził Dawid żołnierzem Syryją Damaską. A tak Syryjczycy byli sługami Dawidowymi, przynosząc mu podatki; i bronił Pan Dawida wszędzie gdziekolwiek się obrócił.
7 and David takes the shields of gold which were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brings them to Jerusalem;
Pobrał też Dawid tarcze złote, które mieli słudzy Hadadezerowi, i wniósł je do Jeruzalemu.
8 and from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David has taken very much bronze.
Przytem z Betachu i z Berotu, miast Hadadezerowych, przyniósł król Dawid bardzo wiele miedzi.
9 And Toi king of Hamath hears that David has struck all the force of Hadadezer,
To usłyszawszy Tohy, król Emat, iż poraził Dawid wszystko wojsko Hadadezerowe,
10 and Toi sends his son Joram to King David to ask of him of welfare, and to bless him (because that he has fought against Hadadezer, and strikes him, for Hadadezer had been a man of wars [with] Toi), and in his hand have been vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of bronze,
Posłał Tohy Jorama, syna swego, do króla Dawida, aby go pozdrowił w pokoju, i winszował mu, przeto że zwalczył Hadadezera, i poraził go, (albowiem walczył z Tohym Hadadezer, ) i przyniósł z sobą naczynia srebrne, i naczynia złote, i naczynia miedziane.
11 also King David sanctified them to YHWH, with the silver and the gold which he sanctified of all the nations which he subdued:
Które też rzeczy poświęcił król Dawid Panu z innem srebrem i złotem, które był poświęcił, pobrawszy od wszystkich narodów, które sobie podbił.
12 of Aram, and of Moab, and of the sons of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer son of Rehob king of Zobah.
Jako od Syryjczyków, i od Moabczyków, i od synów Ammonowych, i od Filistynów, i od Amalekitów, i z łupów Hadadezera, syna Rochobowego, króla Soby.
13 And David makes a name in his turning back from his striking Aram in the Valley of Salt—eighteen thousand;
A tak uczynił sobie Dawid imię, gdy się wrócił poraziwszy Syryjczyki w dolinie solnej, gdzie pobił ośmnaście tysięcy ludu.
14 and he puts garrisons in Edom—he has put garrisons in all of Edom, and all Edom are servants to David; and YHWH saves David wherever he has gone.
Postanowił też straż w Edom, wszystkę ziemię Edomską osadziwszy żołnierzami; i byli wszyscy Edomczycy sługami Dawidowymi, a bronił Pan Dawida wszędzie, gdzie się obrócił.
15 And David reigns over all Israel, and David is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,
I królował Dawid nad wszystkim Izraelem, i czynił sąd i sprawiedliwość wszystkiemu ludowi swemu.
16 and Joab son of Zeruiah [is] over the host, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] remembrancer,
A Joab, syn Sarwii, był nad wojskiem, a Jozafat syn Ahiluda, kanclerzem.
17 and Zadok son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, [are] priests, and Seraiah [is] scribe,
A Sadok, syn Achitoba, i Achimelech, syn Abijatara, byli kapłanami, a Saraja pisarzem.
18 and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is over] both the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the sons of David have been ministers.
Banajas też, syn Jojada, nad Cheretczykami i Feletczykami, a synowie Dawidowi byli książętami.
