2 Samuel 5

1 And all the tribes of Israel come to David, to Hebron, and speak, saying, “Behold, we [are] your bone and your flesh;

Atunci au venit toate triburile lui Israel la David la Hebron și au vorbit, spunând: Iată, noi suntem osul tău și carnea ta.

2 also thus far, in Saul’s being king over us, you have been he who is bringing out and bringing in Israel, and YHWH says to you, You feed My people Israel, and you are for leader over Israel.”

Și odinioară, când Saul era împărat peste noi, tu erai cel care conduceai afară și aduceai înăuntru pe Israel; și DOMNUL ți-a spus: Tu vei paște poporul meu Israel și tu vei fi o căpetenie peste Israel.

3 And all [the] elderly of Israel come to the king, to Hebron, and King David makes a covenant with them in Hebron before YHWH, and they anoint David for king over Israel.

Astfel, toți bătrânii lui Israel au venit la împărat la Hebron; și împăratul David a făcut alianță cu ei în Hebron înaintea DOMNULUI; și l-au uns pe David împărat peste Israel.

4 A son of thirty years [is] David in his being king; he has reigned [for] forty years;

David era în vârstă de treizeci de ani când a început să domnească și el a domnit patruzeci de ani.

5 he reigned over Judah in Hebron [for] seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned [for] thirty-three years, over all Israel and Judah.

În Hebron a domnit peste Iuda șapte ani și șase luni; și în Ierusalim a domnit treizeci și trei de ani peste tot Israelul și Iuda.

6 And the king goes, and his men, to Jerusalem, to the Jebusite, the inhabitant of the land, and they speak to David, saying, “You do not come in here, except [that] you turn aside the blind and the lame,” saying, “David does not come in here.”

Și împăratul și oamenii săi au mers la Ierusalim la iebusiți, locuitorii țării, care vorbiseră lui David, spunând: Dacă nu îndepărtezi pe orbi și pe șchiopi, tu nu vei intra aici; gândind: David nu poate intra aici.

7 And David captures the fortress of Zion, it [is] the City of David.

Totuși David a luat întăritura Sionului; aceeași este cetatea lui David.

8 And on that day David says, “Anyone striking the Jebusite, let him go up by the watercourse (and the lame and the blind—the hated of David’s soul).” Therefore they say, “The blind and lame—he does not come into the house.”

Și David a spus în acea zi: Oricine se urcă la apeduct și lovește pe iebusiți și pe șchiopi și pe orbi, care sunt urâți de sufletul lui David, el va fi mai marele și căpetenie. De aceea ei au spus: Orbul și șchiopul nu vor intra în casă.

9 And David dwells in the fortress, and calls it the City of David, and David builds all around, from Millo and inward,

Astfel David a locuit în fortăreață și a numit-o cetatea lui David. Și David a zidit de jur împrejur de la Milo și spre interior.

10 and David goes, going on and becoming great, and YHWH, God of Hosts, [is] with him.

Și David a mers înainte și a devenit mare și DOMNUL Dumnezeul oștirilor era cu el.

11 And Hiram king of Tyre sends messengers to David, and cedar-trees, and craftsmen of wood, and craftsmen of stone, for walls, and they build a house for David,

Și Hiram, împăratul Tirului, a trimis mesageri la David și cedri și tâmplari și pietrari; și ei i-au clădit lui David o casă.

12 and David knows that YHWH has established him for king over Israel, and that He has lifted up his kingdom, because of His people Israel.

Și David a priceput că DOMNUL îl întemeiase împărat peste Israel și că înălțase împărăția sa de dragul poporului său Israel.

13 And again David takes concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after his coming from Hebron, and again there are born to David sons and daughters.

Și David și-a luat mai multe concubine și soții din Ierusalim, după ce a venit de la Hebron; și i s-au mai născut încă fii și fiice lui David.

14 And these [are] the names of those born to him in Jerusalem: Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

Și acestea sunt numele celor care i s-au născut în Ierusalim: Șamua și Șobab și Natan și Solomon,

15 and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

Și Ibhar și Elișua și Nefeg și Iafia,

16 and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.

Și Elișama și Eliada și Elifelet.

17 And the Philistines hear that they have anointed David for king over Israel, and all the Philistines come up to seek David, and David hears, and goes down to the fortress,

Dar când filistenii au auzit că îl unseseră pe David împărat peste Israel, toți filistenii au urcat să îl caute pe David; și David a auzit despre aceasta și a coborât la fortăreață.

18 and the Philistines have come, and are spread out in the Valley of Rephaim.

Filistenii de asemenea au venit și s-au răspândit în Valea Refaim.

19 And David asks of YHWH, saying, “Do I go up to the Philistines? Do You give them into my hand?” And YHWH says to David, “Go up, for I certainly give the Philistines into your hand.”

Și David a întrebat pe DOMNUL, spunând: Să mă urc împotriva filistenilor? Îi vei da în mâna mea? Și DOMNUL i-a spus lui David: Urcă-te, pentru că voi da fără îndoială pe filisteni în mâna ta.

20 And David comes to Ba‘al-Perazim, and David strikes them there, and says, “YHWH has broken forth [on] my enemies before me, as the breaking forth of waters”; therefore he has called the name of that place Ba‘al-Perazim.

Și David a venit la Baal-Perațim și David i-a lovit acolo și a spus: DOMNUL a izbucnit peste dușmanii mei înaintea mea, ca spărtura apelor. De aceea a pus acelui loc numele Baal-Perațim.

21 And they forsake their idols there, and David and his men lift them up.

Și acolo și-au lăsat idolii lor și David și oamenii săi i-au ars.

22 And the Philistines add again to come up, and are spread out in the Valley of Rephaim,

Și filistenii s-au urcat din nou și s-au răspândit în Valea Refaim.

23 and David asks of YHWH, and He says, “You do not go up, turn around to their rear, and you have come to them from the front [[or in front]] of the mulberries,

Și când David a întrebat pe DOMNUL, el a spus: Să nu te urci; ci înconjoară-i prin spate și să mergi asupra lor înaintea duzilor.

24 and it comes to pass, in your hearing the sound of a stepping in the tops of the mulberries, then you move sharply, for then YHWH has gone out before you to strike in the camp of the Philistines.”

Și să fie astfel, când auzi un sunet de umblet în vârfurile duzilor, grăbește-te, atunci să te miști; fiindcă atunci DOMNUL va merge înaintea ta, ca să lovească oștirea filistenilor.

25 And David does so, as YHWH commanded him, and strikes the Philistines from Geba to your coming to Gazer.

Și David a făcut astfel, precum DOMNUL îi poruncise; și a lovit pe filisteni de la Gheba până la Ghezer.
