2 Samuel 24
1 And the anger of YHWH adds to burn against Israel, and [an adversary] moves David about them, saying, “Go, number Israel and Judah.”
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಕೋಪವು ತಿರುಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಉರಿಯಿತು. ಆಗ ದೇವರು, “ಯೆಹೂದ ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಜನಗಣತಿ ಮಾಡು,” ಎಂದು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದರು.
2 And the king says to Joab, head of the host that [is] with him, “Now go to and fro through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beer-Sheba, and inspect the people; then I have known the number of the people.”
ಅರಸನು ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಜನರ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ, ನೀನು ದಾನಿನಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬದವರೆಗೂ ಇರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ಶಕ್ತರಾದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ,” ಎಂದನು.
3 And Joab says to the king, “Indeed, your God YHWH adds to the people, as they are, one hundred times, and the eyes of my lord the king are seeing; and my lord the king, why is he desirous of this thing?”
ಆಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಜನರನ್ನು ಈಗ ಇರುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ನೂರರಷ್ಟಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಿ; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ಅರಸನು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದು ಏಕೆ?” ಎಂದನು.
4 And the word of the king is severe toward Joab, and against the heads of the force, and Joab goes out, and the heads of the force, [from] before the king to inspect the people, even Israel;
ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಅರಸನ ಮಾತೇ ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಗೆದ್ದಿತು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೋವಾಬನೂ, ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ಶಕ್ತರಾದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಲು ಅರಸನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು.
5 and they pass over the Jordan, and encamp in Aroer, on the right of the city that [is] in the midst of the Brook of Gad, and to Jazer,
ಅವರು ಯೊರ್ದನನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ, ಗಾದ್ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಹತ್ತಿರವಿರುವ ಅರೋಯೇರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಯಜ್ಜೇರಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
6 and they come to Gilead, and to the land of Tahtim-Hodshi, and they come to Dan-Jaan, and around to Sidon,
ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿಗೂ, ತಖ್ತೀಮ್ ಹೊಜೀ ಪ್ರದೇಶಕ್ಕೂ, ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ದಾನ್ ಯಾನಿಗೂ, ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಸೀದೋನಿಗೂ ಬಂದರು.
7 and they come to the fortress of Tyre, and all the cities of the Hivite, and of the Canaanite, and go out to the south of Judah, to Beer-Sheba.
ಅವರು ಟೈರಿನ ಭದ್ರಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೂ, ಹಿವ್ವಿಯರ, ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರ ಸಕಲ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೂ, ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಯೆಹೂದದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣಕ್ಕೂ, ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬಕ್ಕೂ ಬಂದರು.
8 And they go to and fro through all the land, and come in to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days,
ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಸಮಸ್ತ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಒಂಬತ್ತು ತಿಂಗಳು ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ದಿವಸವಾದ ತರುವಾಯ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
9 and Joab gives the account of the inspection of the people to the king, and Israel is eight hundred thousand men of valor, drawing sword, and the men of Judah five hundred thousand men.
ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಜನರ ಒಟ್ಟು ಲೆಕ್ಕವೇನೆಂದರೆ: ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಖಡ್ಗ ಹಿಡಿಯತಕ್ಕ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವುಳ್ಳ ಎಂಟು ಲಕ್ಷಮಂದಿ ಇದ್ದರು. ಯೆಹೂದದ ಜನರು ಐದು ಲಕ್ಷಮಂದಿ ಇದ್ದರು.
10 And the heart of David strikes him, after that he has numbered the people, and David says to YHWH, “I have greatly sinned in that which I have done, and now, O YHWH, please cause the iniquity of Your servant to pass away, for I have acted very foolishly.”
ದಾವೀದನು ಜನರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹಂಗಿಸತೊಡಗಿತು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮಹಾಪಾಪ ಮಾಡಿದೆನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ದಯಮಾಡಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕನ ಅಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸಿರಿ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಾಗಿ ನಡೆದೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
11 And David rises in the morning, and the word of YHWH has been to Gad the prophet, seer of David, saying,
ದಾವೀದನು ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದಾಗ ಅವನ ದರ್ಶಿಯಾದ ಗಾದನೆಂಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ,
12 “Go, and you have spoken to David, Thus said YHWH: I am lifting up three [choices] for you, choose one of them, and I do [it] to you.”
“ನೀನು ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತಾಡಿ, ‘ನಾನು ಮೂರು ವಿಧವಾದ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡಬೇಕೋ ಅದನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೋ, ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು,” ಎಂದರು.
13 And Gad comes to David, and declares [it] to him, and says to him, “Does seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or are you fleeing before your adversary [for] three months—and he is pursuing you? Or is there pestilence [for] three days in your land? Now, know and see what word I take back to Him sending me.”
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಗಾದನು ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ವರುಷ ಕ್ಷಾಮ ಉಂಟಾಗಬೇಕೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುಗಳು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿ ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಓಡಿಸಿಬಿಡಬೇಕೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಮೂರು ದಿವಸಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಘೋರವ್ಯಾಧಿ ಉಂಟಾಗಬೇಕೋ? ಈಗ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಏನು ಉತ್ತರ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕು? ಯೋಚಿಸಿನೋಡು,” ಎಂದನು.
14 And David says to Gad, “I have great distress; please let us fall into the hand of YHWH, for His mercies [are] many, but do not let me fall into the hand of man.”
ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಗಾದನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಬಹು ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ. ಈಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬೀಳೋಣ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರ ಕರುಣೆಯು ದೊಡ್ಡದು, ಆದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳಲಾರೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
15 And YHWH gives a pestilence on Israel from the morning even to the time appointed, and there dies of the people, from Dan even to Beer-Sheba, seventy thousand men,
ಆದಕಾರಣ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಉದಯಕಾಲದಿಂದ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ ಕಾಲದವರೆಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಆಗ ದಾನಿನಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬದವರೆಗೂ ಇರುವ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರು ಸತ್ತರು.
16 and the messenger puts forth his hand to Jerusalem to destroy it, and YHWH sighs concerning the calamity, and says to the messenger who is destroying among the people, “Enough, now, cease your hand”; and the messenger of YHWH was near the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
ದೂತನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಲು, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಚಾಚಿದಾಗ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಆ ದಂಡನೆಗಾಗಿ ನೊಂದುಕೊಂಡು, ಜನರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದೇವದೂತನಿಗೆ, “ಸಾಕು, ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಹಿಂದೆಗೆ,” ಎಂದರು. ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯನಾದ ಅರೌನನ ಕಣದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದನು.
17 And David speaks to YHWH when he sees the messenger who is striking among the people, and says, “Behold, I have sinned, indeed, I have done perversely; and these—the flock—what have they done? Please let Your hand be on me and on the house of my father.”
ದಾವೀದನು ಜನರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುವ ದೂತನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ, ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ನಾನೇ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದೆನು. ಕುರುಬನಂತಿರುವ ನಾನೇ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದೆನು. ಆದರೆ ಕುರಿಗಳಂತಿರುವ ಇವರು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನು? ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಸ್ತವು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ನನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಬೇಡುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
18 And Gad comes to David on that day and says to him, “Go up, raise an altar to YHWH in the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite”;
ಆ ದಿವಸವೇ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಗಾದನು ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯನಾದ ಅರೌನನ ಕಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸು,” ಎಂದನು.
19 and David goes up, according to the word of Gad, as YHWH commanded.
ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಗಾದನ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ತನಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಹೋದನು.
20 And Araunah looks, and sees the king and his servants passing over to him, and Araunah goes out and bows himself to the king [with] his face to the earth.
ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನೂ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರೂ ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದನ್ನು ಅರೌನನು ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಿದನು, ಆಗ ಅವನು ಕಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು, ಅರಸನ ಮುಂದೆ ಮುಖ ಕೆಳಗೆಮಾಡಿ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದನು.
21 And Araunah says, “Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” And David says, “To buy the threshing-floor from you, to build an altar to YHWH, and the plague is restrained from the people.”
ಅರೌನನು, “ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದದ್ದೇನು?” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನು, “ಈ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯು ಜನರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಕಣವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
22 And Araunah says to David, “Let my lord the king take [it] and cause that which is good in his eyes to ascend; see, [here are] the oxen for a burnt-offering, and the threshing instruments, and the instruments of the oxen, for wood”;
ಅರೌನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ಅದನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲಿ. ದಹನಬಲಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಎತ್ತುಗಳೂ, ಸೌದೆಗೆ ಹಂತೀಕುಂಟೆ ಮುಂತಾದವುಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇವೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
23 Araunah has given the whole [as] a king to a king; and Araunah says to the king, “Your God YHWH accepts you.”
ಅರೌನನು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅರೌನನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
24 And the king says to Araunah, “No, for I surely buy from you for a price, and I do not cause burnt-offerings to ascend to my God YHWH for nothing”; and David buys the threshing-floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver,
ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನು ಅರೌನನಿಗೆ, “ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಕ್ರಯಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದನ್ನು ದಹನಬಲಿಯಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸೆನು,” ಎಂದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ಕಣವನ್ನೂ, ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಐವತ್ತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡನು.
25 and David builds an altar to YHWH there, and causes burnt-offerings and peace-offerings to ascend, and YHWH accepts the plea for the land, and the plague is restrained from Israel.
ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಬಿನ್ನಹವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಆ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯು ನಿಂತುಹೋಯಿತು.
