2 Samuel 22
1 And David speaks the words of this song to YHWH in the day YHWH has delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,
| וידבר דוד ליהוה את דברי השירה הזאת ביום הציל יהוה אתו מכף כל איביו ומכף שאול |
2 and he says: “YHWH [is] my rock, And my bulwark, and a deliverer to me,
| ויאמר יהוה סלעי ומצדתי ומפלטי לי |
3 My God [is] my rock—I take refuge in Him; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, My high tower, and my refuge! My Savior, You save me from violence!
| אלהי צורי אחסה בו מגני וקרן ישעי משגבי ומנוסי משעי מחמס תשעני |
4 I call on YHWH, [who is worthy] to be praised: And I am saved from my enemies.
| מהלל אקרא יהוה ומאיבי אושע |
5 When the breakers of death surrounded me, The streams of the worthless terrify me,
| כי אפפני משברי מות נחלי בליעל יבעתני |
| חבלי שאול סבני קדמני מקשי מות (Sheol h7585) |
7 In my adversity I call on YHWH, And I call to my God, And He hears my voice from His temple, And my cry [is] in His ears,
| בצר לי אקרא יהוה ואל אלהי אקרא וישמע מהיכלו קולי ושועתי באזניו |
8 And the earth shakes and trembles, Foundations of the heavens are troubled, And are shaken, for He has wrath!
| ותגעש (ויתגעש) ותרעש הארץ מוסדות השמים ירגזו ויתגעשו כי חרה לו |
9 Smoke has gone up by His nostrils, And fire devours from His mouth; Brands have been kindled by it.
| עלה עשן באפו ואש מפיו תאכל גחלים בערו ממנו |
10 And He inclines the heavens and comes down, And thick darkness [is] under His feet.
| ויט שמים וירד וערפל תחת רגליו |
11 And He rides on a cherub and flies, And is seen on the wings of the wind.
| וירכב על כרוב ויעף וירא על כנפי רוח |
12 And He sets darkness around Him [for His] dwelling places, Darkness of waters [and] thick clouds of the skies.
| וישת חשך סביבתיו סכות חשרת מים עבי שחקים |
13 From the brightness before Him Brands of fire were kindled!
| מנגה נגדו בערו גחלי אש |
14 YHWH thunders from the heavens, And the Most High gives forth His voice.
| ירעם מן שמים יהוה ועליון יתן קולו |
15 And He sends forth arrows, and scatters them; Lightning, and troubles them;
| וישלח חצים ויפיצם ברק ויהמם (ויהם) |
16 And the streams of the sea are seen, [The] foundations of the world are revealed, By the rebuke of YHWH, From the breath of the spirit of His anger.
| ויראו אפקי ים יגלו מסדות תבל בגערת יהוה מנשמת רוח אפו |
17 He sends from above—He takes me, He draws me out of many waters.
| ישלח ממרום יקחני ימשני ממים רבים |
18 He delivers me from my strong enemy, From those hating me, For they were stronger than me.
| יצילני מאיבי עז משנאי כי אמצו ממני |
19 They are before me in a day of my calamity, And YHWH is my support,
| יקדמני ביום אידי ויהי יהוה משען לי |
20 And He brings me out to a large place, He draws me out for He delighted in me.
| ויצא למרחב אתי יחלצני כי חפץ בי |
21 YHWH repays me, According to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands, He returns to me.
| יגמלני יהוה כצדקתי כבר ידי ישיב לי |
22 For I have kept the ways of YHWH, And have not done wickedly against my God.
| כי שמרתי דרכי יהוה ולא רשעתי מאלהי |
23 For all His judgments [are] before me, As for His statutes, I do not turn from them.
| כי כל משפטו לנגדי וחקתיו לא אסור ממנה |
24 And I am perfect before Him, And I keep myself from my iniquity.
| ואהיה תמים לו ואשתמרה מעוני |
25 And YHWH returns to me, According to my righteousness, According to my cleanness before His eyes.
| וישב יהוה לי כצדקתי כברי לנגד עיניו |
26 With the kind You show Yourself kind, With the perfect man You show Yourself perfect,
| עם חסיד תתחסד עם גבור תמים תתמם |
27 With the pure You show Yourself pure, And with the perverse You show Yourself a wrestler.
| עם נבר תתבר ועם עקש תתפל |
28 And You save the poor people, But Your eyes on the high cause [them] to fall.
| ואת עם עני תושיע ועיניך על רמים תשפיל |
29 For You [are] my lamp, O YHWH, And YHWH lightens my darkness.
| כי אתה נירי יהוה ויהוה יגיה חשכי |
30 For by You I run [against] a troop, By my God I leap a wall.
| כי בכה ארוץ גדוד באלהי אדלג שור |
31 God—His way [is] perfect, The saying of YHWH is tried, He [is] a shield to all those trusting in Him.
| האל תמים דרכו אמרת יהוה צרופה-- מגן הוא לכל החסים בו |
32 For who is God except YHWH? And who [is the] Rock except our God?
| כי מי אל מבלעדי יהוה ומי צור מבלעדי אלהינו |
33 God—my bulwark, [my] strength, And He makes my way perfect;
| האל מעוזי חיל ויתר תמים דרכו (דרכי) |
34 Making my feet like does, And causes me to stand on my high places,
| משוה רגליו (רגלי) כאילות ועל במתי יעמדני |
35 Teaching my hands for battle, And a bow of bronze was brought down by my arms,
| מלמד ידי למלחמה ונחת קשת נחושה זרעתי |
36 And You give the shield of Your salvation to me, And Your lowliness makes me great.
| ותתן לי מגן ישעך וענתך תרבני |
37 You enlarge my step under me, And my ankles have not slipped.
| תרחיב צעדי תחתני ולא מעדו קרסלי |
38 I pursue my enemies and destroy them, And I do not turn until they are consumed.
| ארדפה איבי ואשמידם ולא אשוב עד כלותם |
39 And I consume them, and strike them, And they do not rise, and fall under my feet.
| ואכלם ואמחצם ולא יקומון ויפלו תחת רגלי |
40 And You gird me [with] strength for battle, You cause my withstanders to bow under me.
| ותזרני חיל למלחמה תכריע קמי תחתני |
41 And my enemies—You give to me the neck, Those hating me—and I cut them off.
| ואיבי תתה לי ערף משנאי ואצמיתם |
42 They look, and there is no savior; To YHWH, and He has not answered them.
| ישעו ואין משיע אל יהוה ולא ענם |
43 And I beat them as dust of the earth, As mire of the streets I beat them small—I spread them out!
| ואשחקם כעפר ארץ כטיט חוצות אדקם ארקעם |
44 And You deliver me From the strivings of my people, You place me for a head of nations; A people I have not known serve me.
| ותפלטני מריבי עמי תשמרני לראש גוים עם לא ידעתי יעבדני |
45 Sons of a stranger feign obedience to me, At the hearing of the ear they listen to me.
| בני נכר יתכחשו לי לשמוע אזן ישמעו לי |
46 Sons of a stranger fade away, And gird themselves by their close places.
| בני נכר יבלו ויחגרו ממסגרותם |
47 YHWH lives, and blessed [is] my Rock, And exalted is my God—The Rock of my salvation.
| חי יהוה וברוך צורי וירם אלהי צור ישעי |
48 God—who is giving vengeance to me, And bringing down peoples under me,
| האל הנתן נקמת לי ומריד עמים תחתני |
49 And bringing me forth from my enemies, Indeed, You raise me up above my withstanders. You deliver me from a man of violence.
| ומוציאי מאיבי ומקמי תרוממני מאיש חמסים תצילני |
50 Therefore I confess You, O YHWH, among nations, And I sing praise to Your Name.
| על כן אודך יהוה בגוים ולשמך אזמר |
51 Magnifying the salvations of His king, And doing loving-kindness to His anointed, To David, and to his seed—for all time!”
| מגדיל (מגדול) ישועות מלכו ועשה חסד למשיחו לדוד ולזרעו עד עולם |
