2 Samuel 20
1 And there happened to be a man of worthlessness there, and his name [is] Sheba, son of Bichri, a Benjamite, and he blows with a horn and says, “We have no portion in David, and we have no inheritance in the son of Jesse; each [goes] to his tents, O Israel.”
௧அப்பொழுது பென்யமீன் மனிதனான பிக்கிரியின் மகனான சேபா என்னும் பெயருள்ள பிரச்சினைக்குரிய மனிதன் ஒருவன் தற்செயலாக அங்கே இருந்தான்; அவன் எக்காளம் ஊதி: எங்களுக்கு தாவீதிடம் பங்கும் இல்லை, ஈசாயின் மகனிடம் எங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லை; இஸ்ரவேலர்களே, நீங்கள் அவரவர் தங்கள் வீடுகளுக்குப் போய்விடுங்கள் என்றான்.
2 And every man of Israel goes up from after David, after Sheba son of Bichri, and the men of Judah have cleaved to their king, from the Jordan even to Jerusalem.
௨அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் மனிதர்கள் எல்லோரும் தாவீதைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்து, பிக்கிரியின் மகனான சேபாவைப் பின்பற்றிப் போனார்கள்; யோர்தான் தொடங்கி எருசலேம் வரையுள்ள யூதா மனிதர்கள் தங்கள் ராஜாவைச் சார்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.
3 And David comes to his house at Jerusalem. And the king takes the ten women-concubines whom he had left to keep the house, and puts them in a house of ward and sustains them, and he has not gone in to them, and they are shut up to the day of their death, living in widowhood.
௩தாவீது எருசலேமிலுள்ள தன்னுடைய வீட்டிற்கு வந்தபோது, வீட்டைக்காக்க ராஜா வைத்துப்போன பத்து மறுமனையாட்டிகளையும் வரவழைத்து, அவர்களை ஒரு காவல் வீட்டிலே வைத்துப் பராமரித்தான்; அதன்பின்பு அவர்களிடம் அவன் உறவு வைத்துக்கொள்ளவில்லை; அப்படியே அவர்கள் மரணமடைகிற நாட்கள்வரை அடைக்கப்பட்டு, உயிரோடிருக்கிற நாட்களெல்லாம் விதவைகளைப்போல இருந்தார்கள்.
4 And the king says to Amasa, “Call the men of Judah for me [within] three days, and you, stand here,”
௪பின்பு ராஜா அமாசாவைப் பார்த்து: நீ யூதா மனிதர்களை மூன்று நாட்களுக்குள்ளே என்னிடம் வரவழைத்து, நீயும் வந்து இருக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.
5 and Amasa goes to call Judah, and tarries beyond the appointed time that he had appointed him;
௫அப்பொழுது அமாசா: யூதாவை அழைப்பதற்காக போய், தனக்குக் குறித்த காலத்தில் வராமல் தாமதித்தான்.
6 and David says to Abishai, “Now Sheba son of Bichri does evil to us more than Absalom; you, take the servants of your lord, and pursue after him, lest he has found fortified cities for himself, and delivered himself [from] our eye.”
௬அப்பொழுது தாவீது அபிசாயைப் பார்த்து: அப்சலோமைவிட பிக்கிரியின் மகனான சேபா, இப்பொழுது நமக்கு தீங்கு செய்வான்; அவன் பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணங்களுக்கு வந்தடைந்து, நம்முடைய கண்களுக்குத் தப்பிப்போகாதபடி, நீ உன் எஜமானுடைய வீரர்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு, அவனைப் பின்தொடர்ந்துபோ என்றான்.
7 And the men of Joab go out after him, and the Cherethite, and the Pelethite, and all the mighty men, and they go out from Jerusalem to pursue after Sheba son of Bichri;
௭அப்படியே யோவாபின் மனிதர்களும், கிரேத்தியர்களும் பிலேத்தியர்களும், எல்லா வலிமையான வீரர்களும் அவனுக்குப்பின்பாகப் புறப்பட்டு, பிக்கிரியின் மகனான சேபாவைப் பின்தொடர்வதற்கு எருசலேமிலிருந்து போனார்கள்.
8 they [are] near the great stone that [is] in Gibeon, and Amasa has gone before them, and Joab [is] girded; he has put his long robe on him, and on it a girdle—a sword [is] fastened on his loins in its sheath; and he has gone out, and it falls.
௮அவர்கள் கிபியோனின் பக்கத்தில் இருக்கிற பெரிய பாறை அருகில் வந்தபோது, அமாசா அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக வந்தான்; யோவாபோ, தான் அணிந்துகொண்டிருக்கிற தன்னுடைய சட்டையின்மேல் ஒரு வாரைக் கட்டியிருந்தான்; அதில் உறையோடு ஒரு பட்டயம் அவன் இடுப்பில் தொங்கினது; அவன் புறப்படும்போது அது விழுந்தது.
9 And Joab says to Amasa, “Are you [in] peace, my brother?” And the right hand of Joab lays hold on the beard of Amasa to give a kiss to him;
௯அப்பொழுது யோவாப் அமாசாவைப் பார்த்து: என்னுடைய சகோதரனே, சுகமாக இருக்கிறாயா என்று சொல்லி, அமாசாவை முத்தம்செய்யும்படி, தன்னுடைய வலது கையினால் அவன் தாடியைப் பிடித்து,
10 and Amasa has not been watchful of the sword that [is] in the hand of Joab, and he strikes him with it to the fifth [rib], and sheds out his bowels to the earth, and he has not repeated [it] to him, and he dies; and Joab and his brother Abishai have pursued after Sheba son of Bichri.
௧0தன்னுடைய கையிலிருக்கிற பட்டயத்திற்கு அமாசா எச்சரிக்கையாக இல்லாமலிருந்தபோது, யோவாப் அவனை அவனுடைய குடல்கள் தரையிலே விழும்படி, அதினால் வயிற்றிலே ஒரே குத்தாக குத்தினான்; அவன் இறந்துபோனான்; அப்பொழுது யோவாபும் அவனுடைய சகோதரனான அபிசாயும் பிக்கிரியின் மகனான சேபாவைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தார்கள்.
11 And a man has stood by him, of the young men of Joab, and says, “He who has delight in Joab, and he who [is] for David—after Joab!”
௧௧யோவாபுடைய வாலிபர்களில் ஒருவன் இறந்தவன் அருகில் நின்று, யோவாபின்மேல் பிரியப்படுகிறவன் எவனோ, தாவீதை ஆதரிக்கிறவன் எவனோ, அவன் யோவாபைப் பின்பற்றிப்போகட்டும் என்றான்.
12 And Amasa is rolling himself in blood, in the midst of the highway, and the man sees that all the people have stood still, and he brings around Amasa out of the highway to the field, and casts a garment over him when he has seen that everyone who has come by him has stood still.
௧௨அமாசா நடுவழியில் இரத்தத்திலே புரண்டுகிடந்தபடியால், மக்கள் எல்லோரும் அங்கேயே நிற்பதை அவன் கண்டு, அமாசாவை வழியிலிருந்து வயலிலே இழுத்துப்போட்டான்; அவன் அருகில் வருகிறவர்கள் எல்லோரும் அங்கேயே நிற்பதைக் கண்டு, ஒரு ஆடையை அவன்மேல் போட்டான்.
13 When he has been removed out of the highway, every man has passed on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba son of Bichri.
௧௩அவன் வழியிலிருந்து எடுத்துப்போடப்பட்ட பின்பு, எல்லோரும் கடந்து, பிக்கிரியின் மகனான சேபாவைப் பின்தொடர, யோவாபுக்குப் பின்னேசென்றார்கள்.
14 And he passes over through all the tribes of Israel to Abel, and to Beth-Maachah, and to all the Berites, and they are assembled, and also go in after him,
௧௪அவன் இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களையெல்லாம் சுற்றி, பெத்மாக்காவான ஆபேல்வரையும், பேரீமின் கடைசிவரையிலும் வந்திருந்தான்; அந்த இடத்தார்களும் கூடி, தாங்களும் அவனுக்குப் பின்சென்றார்கள்.
15 and they go in and lay siege against him, in Abel of Beth-Maachah, and cast up a mound against the city, and it stands in a trench, and all the people who are [are] with Joab are destroying, to cause the wall to fall.
௧௫அவர்கள் போய் பெத்மாக்காவான ஆபேலிலே அவனை முற்றுகையிட்டு, பட்டணத்திற்குள் போகத் தடைச்சுவர்களைக் கட்டினார்கள்; யோவாபோடு இருக்கிற இராணுவத்தினர்கள் எல்லோரும் மதிலை விழச்செய்யும்படி அழிக்க முயற்சிசெய்தார்கள்.
16 And a wise woman calls out of the city, “Hear! Hear! Please say to Joab, Come near here, and I speak to you.”
௧௬அப்பொழுது புத்தியுள்ள ஒரு பெண் பட்டணத்திலிருந்து சத்தமிட்டு: கேளுங்கள், கேளுங்கள்; நான் யோவாபோடு பேசவேண்டும்; அவரை இங்கே அருகில் வரச்சொல்லுங்கள் என்றாள்.
17 And he comes near to her, and the woman says, “Are you Joab?” And he says, “I [am].” And she says to him, “Hear the words of your handmaid”; and he says, “I am hearing.”
௧௭அவன் அவளுக்கு அருகில் வந்தபோது, அந்தப் பெண்: நீர்தானா யோவாப் என்று கேட்டாள்; அவன் நான்தான் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது, அவள் அவனைப் பார்த்து: உமது அடியாளின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளும் என்றாள்; அவன்: கேட்கிறேன் என்றான்.
18 And she speaks, saying, “They spoke often in former times, saying, Let them diligently inquire at Abel, and so they finished.
௧௮அப்பொழுது அவள்: முற்காலத்து மக்கள் ஆபேலிலே விசாரித்தால் வழக்குத் தீரும் என்பார்கள்.
19 I [am] of the peaceable, faithful ones of Israel; you are seeking to destroy a city and mother in Israel; why do you swallow up the inheritance of YHWH?”
௧௯இஸ்ரவேலிலே நான் சமாதானமும் உண்மையுமுள்ளவளாக இருக்கும்போது, நீர் இஸ்ரவேலிலே தாய் பட்டணமாக இருக்கிறதை அழிக்கவேண்டும் என்று பார்க்கிறீரோ? நீர் யெகோவாவுடைய சுதந்திரத்தை விழுங்கவேண்டியது என்ன என்றாள்.
20 And Joab answers and says, “Far be it—far be it from me; I do not swallow up nor destroy.
௨0யோவாப் மறுமொழியாக: விழுங்கவேண்டும் அழிக்கவேண்டும் என்கிற ஆசை எனக்கு வெகுதூரமாக இருக்கட்டும்.
21 The matter [is] not so; for a man of the hill-country of Ephraim—Sheba son of Bichri [is] his name—has lifted up his hand against the king, against David; give him up by himself, and I go away from the city.” And the woman says to Joab, “Behold, his head is cast to you over the wall.”
௨௧காரியம் அப்படியல்ல; பிக்கிரியின் மகனான சேபா என்னும் பெயருள்ள எப்பிராயீம் மலையை சேர்ந்தவனாக இருக்கிற ஒரு மனிதன், ராஜாவான தாவீதுக்கு விரோதமாகத் தன்னுடைய கையை ஓங்கினான்; அவனைமட்டும் ஒப்புக்கொடுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது பட்டணத்தைவிட்டுப் போவேன் என்றான். அப்பொழுது அந்தப் பெண் யோவாபைப் பார்த்து: இதோ, அவனுடைய தலை மதிலின்மேலிருந்து உம்மிடத்திலே போடப்படும் என்று சொல்லி,
22 And the woman comes to all the people in her wisdom, and they cut off the head of Sheba son of Bichri, and cast [it] to Joab, and he blows with a horn, and they are scattered from the city, each [goes] to his tents, and Joab has turned back to Jerusalem to the king.
௨௨அவள் மக்களிடத்தில் போய் புத்தியாகப் பேசியதால், அவர்கள் பிக்கிரியின் மகனான சேபாவின் தலையை வெட்டி, யோவாபிடம் போட்டார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவன் எக்காளம் ஊதினான்; எல்லோரும் பட்டணத்தைவிட்டுக் கலைந்து, தங்கள் வீடுகளுக்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; யோவாபும் ராஜாவிடம் போகும்படி எருசலேமிற்குத் திரும்பினான்.
23 And Joab [is] over all the host of Israel, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is] over the Cherethite, and over the Pelethite,
௨௩யோவாப் இஸ்ரவேலுடைய எல்லா இராணுவத்தின்மேலும், யோய்தாவின் மகனான பெனாயா கிரேத்தியர்கள்மேலும் பிலேத்தியர்கள்மேலும் தலைவராக இருந்தார்கள்.
24 and Adoram [is] over the tribute, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] the remembrancer,
௨௪அதோராம் கடினமாக வேலை வாங்குகிறவனும், அகிலூதின் மகனான யோசபாத் மந்திரியும்,
25 and Sheva [is] scribe, and Zadok and Abiathar [are] priests,
௨௫சேவா எழுத்தாளனாகவும், சாதோக்கும் அபியத்தாரும் ஆசாரியர்களுமாகவும் இருந்தார்கள்.
26 and also, Ira the Jairite has been minister to David.
௨௬யயீரியனான ஈராவும் தாவீதுக்கு முதலமைச்சராக இருந்தான்.
