2 Samuel 15
1 And it comes to pass afterward that Absalom prepares a chariot and horses for himself, and fifty men are running before him;
Ahora, después de esto, Absalón consiguió para sí mismo un carruaje y caballos, y una guardia personal de cincuenta hombres para ir ante él.
2 and Absalom has risen early, and stood by the side of the way of the gate, and it comes to pass, every man who has a pleading to come to the king for judgment, that Absalom calls to him and says, “Of what city [are] you?” And he says, “Your servant [is] of one of the tribes of Israel.”
Y Absalón se levantó temprano, mañana tras mañana, y tomó su lugar al lado de la reunión pública y cuando alguien tuvo una causa que tuvo que acudir al rey para ser juzgado, entonces Absalón, lo llamaba y decía: ¿Cuál es tu pueblo? y él decía: Tu siervo es de una de las tribus de Israel.
3 And Absalom says to him, “See, your matters [are] good and straightforward—and there is none listening to you from the king.”
Y Absalón le decía: Mira, tu causa es verdadera y justa; pero ningún hombre ha sido nombrado por el rey para darle una audiencia.
4 And Absalom says, “Who makes me judge in the land, that every man who has a plea and judgment comes to me? Then I have declared him righteous.”
Y más que esto, Absalom dijo: ¡Ojalá me hicieran juez en la tierra, para que cada hombre que tenga alguna causa o pregunta pueda venir a mí, y yo tomaría una decisión correcta por él!
5 And it has come to pass, in the drawing near of anyone to bow himself to him, that he has put forth his hand, and laid hold on him, and given a kiss to him;
Y si alguien se acercaba a darle honor, le tomaba de la mano y le daba un beso.
6 and Absalom does according to this thing to all Israel who come in for judgment to the king, and Absalom steals the heart of the men of Israel.
Y Absalón hizo con todos los Israel que iban a ver al rey para juzgar su causa, Absalón, así se robó los corazones de los hombres de Israel.
7 And it comes to pass, at the end of forty years, that Absalom says to the king, “Please let me go, and I complete my vow that I vowed to YHWH in Hebron,
Y al cabo de cuatro años, Absalón dijo al rey: Déjame ir a Hebrón y hacer el juramento que hice al Señor.
8 for your servant has vowed a vow in my dwelling in Geshur, in Aram, saying, If YHWH certainly brings me back to Jerusalem, then I have served YHWH.”
Porque mientras estuve viviendo en Gesur en Aram, tu siervo hizo un juramento, diciendo: “Si alguna vez el Señor me permite volver a Jerusalén, le daré culto en Hebrón”.
9 And the king says to him, “Go in peace”; and he rises and goes to Hebron,
Y el rey le dijo: Ve en paz. Así que se levantó y se fue a Hebrón.
10 and Absalom sends spies through all the tribes of Israel, saying, “At your hearing the voice of the horn, then you have said, Absalom has reigned in Hebron.”
Pero Absalón, al mismo tiempo, envió observadores a todas las tribus de Israel a decir: Al oír el cuerno, debes decir: Absalón es rey en Hebrón.
11 And two hundred men have gone with Absalom out of Jerusalem, invited ones, and they are going in their simplicity, and have not known anything;
Y con Absalón, a su pedido, fueron doscientos hombres de Jerusalén, que estaban completamente inconscientes de sus designios.
12 and Absalom sends Ahithophel the Gilonite, a counselor of David, out of his city, out of Gilo, in his sacrificing sacrifices; and the conspiracy is strong, and the people are going and increasing with Absalom.
Y Absalón mandó llamar a Ahitofel Gilonita, uno de los ayudantes de David, desde Gilo, su ciudad, mientras hacía las ofrendas. Y la conspiración contra David se hizo fuerte, ya que más y más personas se unieron a Absalón.
13 And he who is declaring tidings comes to David, saying, “The heart of the men of Israel has been after Absalom.”
Entonces uno se acercó a David y dijo: Los corazones de los hombres de Israel han ido tras Absalón.
14 And David says to all his servants who [are] with him in Jerusalem, “Rise, and we flee, for we have no escape from the face of Absalom; hurry to go, lest he hurries, and has overtaken us, and forced evil on us, and struck the city by the mouth of the sword.”
Y David dijo a todos sus siervos que estaban con él en Jerusalén: Ven, huyamos, o ninguno de nosotros estará a salvo de Absalón; vamos sin pérdida de tiempo, no sea que apresurándose él nos alcance y nos haga mal, y hiera el pueblo a filo de espada.
15 And the servants of the king say to the king, “According to all that my lord the king chooses—behold, your servants do.”
Y los criados del rey dijeron al rey: Mira, tus siervos están listos para hacer lo que el rey diga que se debe hacer.
16 And the king goes out, and all his household at his feet, and the king leaves ten women—concubines—to keep the house.
Salió el rey, llevando consigo a toda la gente de su casa, pero a diez de sus mujeres, que debían cuidar la casa.
17 And the king goes out, and all the people at his feet, and they stand still at the farthest off house.
Salió el rey, y todos sus siervos fueron tras él, y se detuvieron en una casa distante.
18 And all his servants are passing on at his side, and all the Cherethite, and all the Pelethite, and all the Gittites, six hundred men who came at his feet from Gath, are passing on at the front of the king.
Y todo el pueblo pasó a su lado; con todos los cereteos y Peleteos; y todos los hombres de Itai de Gath, seiscientos hombres que vinieron después de él desde Gat, se presentaron ante el rey.
19 And the king says to Ittai the Gittite, “Why do you go—you also—with us? Return and abide with the king, for you [are] a stranger, and also an exile, you—to your place.
Entonces el rey dijo a Itai el de Gat: ¿Por qué vienes con nosotros? regresa y mantente con el nuevo rey, porque eres un hombre de otro país, estás lejos de la tierra de tu nacimiento.
20 Your coming in [was only] yesterday, and should I move you to go with us today, since I am going over [to] where [I do not know where] I am going? Return, and take your brothers back. Kindness and truth [be] with you.”
Fue solo ayer que viniste a nosotros; ¿Por qué entonces te hago subir y bajar con nosotros? porque no se a donde pueda ir; regresa entonces, y llévate contigo a tus compatriotas, y que la misericordia y la buena fe del Señor estén contigo.
21 And Ittai answers the king and says, “YHWH lives, and my lord the king lives, surely in the place where my lord the king is—if for death, if for life, surely your servant is there.”
Respondió Itai: Por el Señor viviente y por la vida de mi señor el rey, en cualquier lugar que esté mi señor el rey, por vida o muerte, allí estará tu siervo.
22 And David says to Ittai, “Go and pass over”; and Ittai the Gittite passes over, and all his men, and all the infants who [are] with him.
Y David dijo a Itai: Ve, entonces, adelante. Y siguió Itai de Gat a David, con todos sus hombres y pequeños que lo acompañaban.
23 And all the land is weeping [with] a great voice, and all the people are passing over; and the king is passing over through the Brook of Kidron, and all the people are passing over on the front of the way of the wilderness;
Y hubo gran llanto en todo el país cuando todo el pueblo pasó; y el rey mismo estaba esperando en el valle de Cedrón y todas las personas pasaron junto a él en dirección al olivo al borde del desierto.
24 and behold, also Zadok, and all the Levites with him, are carrying the Ark of the Covenant of God, and they make the Ark of God firm, and Abiathar goes up, until the completion of all the people to pass over out of the city.
Entonces llegaron Sadoc, y Abiatar, y con ellos los levitas llevaban el cofre del pacto de Dios; y bajaron el cofre del pacto de Dios, hasta que toda la gente del pueblo hubo pasado.
25 And the king says to Zadok, “Take back the Ark of God to the city; if I find grace in the eyes of YHWH, then He has brought me back, and shown me it and His habitation;
Y el rey dijo a Sadoc: Lleva el cofre del pacto de Dios al pueblo. Si tengo gracia ante los ojos del Señor, él me dejará volver para verlo y ver su Tabernáculo nuevamente.
26 and if thus He says, I have not delighted in you; here I [am], He does to me as [is] good in His eyes.”
Pero si él dice: No me deleito en ti; entonces, aquí estoy; que me haga lo que mejor le parezca.
27 And the king says to Zadok the priest, “Are you a seer? Return to the city in peace, and your son Ahimaaz, and Jonathan son of Abiathar, your two sons with you;
El rey le dijo además al sacerdote Sadoc no eres tú él vidente: Mira, tú y Abiatar deben volver a la ciudad en paz con sus dos hijos, Ahimaas, su hijo, y Jonatán, el hijo de Abiatar.
28 see, I am lingering in the plains of the wilderness until the coming in of a word from you to declare to me.”
Mira, te estaré esperando en el camino al otro lado del río, en el desierto, hasta que reciba noticias tuyas.
29 And Zadok takes back—and Abiathar—the Ark of God to Jerusalem, and they abide there.
Entonces Sadoc y Abiatar tomaron el cofre del pacto de Dios de regreso a Jerusalén, y no se fueron de allí.
30 And David is going up in the ascent of the [Mount of] Olives, going up and weeping, and he has the head covered, and he is going barefooted, and all the people who [are] with him have each covered his head, and have gone up, going up and weeping;
Y David subió las laderas del Monte de los Olivos llorando todo el camino, con la cabeza cubierta y sin zapatos; y todas las personas que estaban con él, cubriéndose la cabeza, subieron llorando.
31 and David declared, saying, “Ahithophel [is] among the conspirators with Absalom”; and David says, “Please make the counsel of Ahithophel foolish, O YHWH.”
Y corrió la voz a David, diciendo: Ahitofel está entre los que están unidos a Absalón. Y dijo David: Señor, haz que la sabiduría de Ahitofel se vuelva insensata.
32 And it comes to pass, David has come to the top, where he bows himself to God, and behold, Hushai the Archite [is there] to meet him, [with] his coat torn, and earth on his head;
Cuando David llegó a la cima de la ladera, donde adoraron a Dios, Husai el Arquita se acercó a él con gran dolor y polvo en la cabeza:
33 and David says to him, “If you have passed on with me then you have been for a burden on me,
David le dijo: Si sigues conmigo, serás un problema para mí:
34 and if you return to the city and have said to Absalom, I am your servant, O king; I [am] also servant of your father until now, and presently, I [am] also your servant; then you have made void the counsel of Ahithophel for me;
Pero si vuelves al pueblo y dices a Absalón, yo seré tu siervo, oh rey; como en el pasado, he sido el sirviente de tu padre, así que ahora seré tuyo: entonces podrás evitar que los planes de Ahitofel contra mí se pongan en práctica.
35 and are Zadok and Abiathar the priests not with you there? And it has been, the whole of the matter that you hear from the house of the king you declare to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests.
¿Y no estáis allí Sadoc y Abiatar los sacerdotes? así que todo lo que venga a tus oídos de la casa del rey, comunica a Sadoc y Abiatar a los sacerdotes.
36 Behold, their two sons [are] there with them: Ahimaaz to Zadok, and Jonathan to Abiathar, and you have sent to me by their hand anything that you hear.”
Mira, tienen con ellos a sus dos hijos, Ahimaas, hijo de Sadoc, y Jonatán, hijo de Abiatar; por ellos puedes enviarme un mensaje de todo lo que viene a tus oídos.
37 And Hushai, David’s friend, comes to the city, and Absalom comes to Jerusalem.
Entonces Husai, el amigo de David, entró en el pueblo, y Absalón llegó a Jerusalén.
