2 Samuel 10
1 And it comes to pass afterward, that the king of the sons of Ammon dies, and his son Hanun reigns in his stead,
௧அதன்பின்பு அம்மோன் மக்களின் ராஜா இறந்தான்; அவனுடைய மகனான ஆனூன் அவனுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.
2 and David says, “I do kindness with Hanun son of Nahash, as his father did kindness with me”; and David sends to comfort him by the hand of his servants concerning his father, and the servants of David come into the land of the sons of Ammon.
௨அப்பொழுது தாவீது: ஆனூனின் தகப்பனான நாகாஸ் எனக்கு தயவு செய்ததுபோல, அவனுடைய மகனான இவனுக்கு நான் தயவு செய்வேன் என்று சொல்லி, அவனுடைய தகப்பனுக்காக அவனுக்கு ஆறுதல் சொல்ல, தன்னுடைய வேலைக்காரர்களை அனுப்பினான்; தாவீதின் வேலைக்காரர்கள் அம்மோன் மக்களுடைய தேசத்திற்கு வந்தபோது,
3 And the heads of the sons of Ammon say to their lord Hanun, “Is David honoring your father in your eyes because he has sent comforters to you? For has David not sent his servants to you to search the city, and to spy it, and to overthrow it?”
௩அம்மோன் மக்களின் பிரபுக்கள் தங்களுடைய ஆண்டவனான ஆனூனைப் பார்த்து: தாவீது ஆறுதல் சொல்லுகிறவர்களை உம்மிடத்தில் அனுப்பினது, உம்முடைய தகப்பனிற்கு மரியாதைக் கொடுப்பதாக உமக்குத் தோன்றுகிறதோ? இந்தப் பட்டணத்தை ஆராய்ந்து, உளவுபார்த்து, அதைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போட அல்லவோ தாவீது தன்னுடைய வேலைக்கரர்களை உம்மிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பினான் என்றார்கள்.
4 And Hanun takes the servants of David, and shaves off the half of their beard, and cuts off their long robes in the midst—to their buttocks, and sends them away;
௪அப்பொழுது ஆனூன்: தாவீதின் வேலைக்காரர்களைப் பிடித்து, அவர்களுடைய ஒருபக்கத்துத் தாடியைச் சிரைத்து, அவர்களுடைய ஆடைகளை இடுப்புவரை வைத்துவிட்டு, மற்றபாதியைக் கத்தரித்து, அவர்களை அனுப்பிவிட்டான்.
5 and they declare [it] to David, and he sends to meet them, for the men have been greatly ashamed, and the king says, “Abide in Jericho until your beard springs up—then you have returned.”
௫அது தாவீதுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டபோது, அந்த மனிதர்கள் மிகவும் வெட்கப்பட்டதால், ராஜா அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக ஆட்களை அனுப்பி, உங்களுடைய தாடி வளரும்வரை நீங்கள் எரிகோ பட்டணத்தில் தங்கி இருந்து, பின்பு வாருங்கள் என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னான்.
6 And the sons of Ammon see that they have been abhorred by David, and the sons of Ammon send and hire Aram of Beth-Rehob, and Aram of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and the king of Maacah [with] one thousand men, and Ish-Tob [with] twelve thousand men;
௬அம்மோன் மக்கள் தாங்கள் தாவீதுக்கு அருவருப்பானதைக் கண்டபோது, தூதுவர்களை அனுப்பி, பெத்ரேகோப் தேசத்துச் சீரியர்களிலும், சோபாவிலிருக்கிற சீரியர்களிலும் 20,000 காலாட்களையும், மாக்காதேசத்து ராஜாவிடம் 1,000 பேரையும், தோபிலிருக்கிற 12,000 பேரையும், கூலிப்படையாக வரவழைத்தார்கள்.
7 and David hears, and sends Joab, and all the host—the mighty men.
௭அதைத் தாவீது கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, யோவாபையும் பலசாலிகளான எல்லா இராணுவங்களையும் அனுப்பினான்.
8 And the sons of Ammon come out, and set in array [for] battle, at the opening of the gate, and Aram of Zoba, and Rehob, and Ish-Tob, and Maacah, [are] by themselves in the field;
௮அம்மோன் மக்கள் புறப்பட்டு, நகரத்து வாசலிலே யுத்தம்செய்ய அணிவகுத்து நின்றார்கள்; ஆனாலும் சோபாவிலும் ரேகோபிலுமிருந்து வந்த சீரியர்களும், தோபிலும் மாக்காவிலுமிருந்து வந்த மனிதர்களும், வெளியிலே தனியாக இருந்தார்கள்.
9 and Joab sees that the front of the battle has been to him before and behind, and he chooses [out] of all the chosen in Israel, and sets in array to meet Aram,
௯யோவாபோ இராணுவங்களின் படை தனக்கு நேராக முன்னும் பின்னும் இருக்கிறதைக் காணும்போது, அவன் இஸ்ரவேலிலே தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட எல்லா இராணுவங்களிலும் ஒரு பகுதியைப் பிரித்தெடுத்து, அதைச் சீரியர்களுக்கு எதிராக அணிவகுத்து நிறுத்தி,
10 and he has given the rest of the people into the hand of his brother Abishai, and sets in array to meet the sons of Ammon.
௧0மற்ற மக்களை அம்மோன் இராணுவத்திற்கு எதிராக அணிவகுத்து நிறுத்தும்படி தன்னுடைய சகோதரனான அபிசாயினிடம் ஒப்புவித்து:
11 And he says, “If Aram is stronger than I, then you have been for salvation to me, and if the sons of Ammon are stronger than you, then I have come to give salvation to you;
௧௧சீரியர்களின் கரம் மேலோங்கினால் நீ எனக்கு உதவிசெய்யவேண்டும்; அம்மோன் இராணுவத்தினுடைய கரம் மேலோங்கினால் நான் உனக்கு உதவிசெய்ய வருவேன்.
12 be strong and strengthen yourself for our people, and for the cities of our God, and YHWH does that which is good in His eyes.”
௧௨தைரியமாக இரு: நம்முடைய மக்களுக்காகவும், நம்முடைய தேவனுடைய பட்டணங்களுக்காகவும் நம்முடைய பெலத்தைக் காட்டுவோம்; யெகோவா தமது பார்வைக்கு நலமானதைச் செய்வாராக என்றான்.
13 And Joab draws near, and the people who [are] with him, to battle against Aram, and they flee from his presence;
௧௩யோவாபும் அவனோடிருந்த மக்களும் சீரியர்கள்மேல் யுத்தம்செய்ய நெருங்கினார்கள்; அவர்கள் அவனுக்கு முன்பாகத் தப்பியோடினார்கள்.
14 and the sons of Ammon have seen that Aram has fled, and they flee from the presence of Abishai, and go into the city; and Joab turns back from the sons of Ammon, and comes to Jerusalem.
௧௪சீரியர்கள் தப்பியோடுகிறதை அம்மோன் இராணுவத்தினர்கள் பார்த்தபோது, அவர்களும் அபிசாயிக்கு முன்பாக தப்பியோடிப் பட்டணத்திற்குள் நுழைந்தார்கள்: அப்பொழுது யோவாப் அம்மோன் மக்களைவிட்டுத் திரும்பி எருசலேமிற்கு வந்தான்.
15 And Aram sees that it is struck before Israel, and they are gathered together;
௧௫தாங்கள் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாக முறியடிக்கப்பட்டதை சீரியர்கள் பார்த்தபோது, ஒன்றாகக் கூடினார்கள்.
16 and Hadadezer sends, and brings out Aram which [is] beyond the River, and they come to Helam, and Shobach, head of the host of Hadadezer, [is] before them.
௧௬ஆதாரேசர் நதிக்கு மறுகரையில் சீரியர்களையும் அழைத்தனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் ஏலாமுக்கு வந்தார்கள்; ஆதாரேசருடைய படைத்தலைவனான சோபாக் அவர்களுக்கு முன்னாலே சென்றான்.
17 And it is declared to David, and he gathers all Israel, and passes over the Jordan, and comes to Helam, and Aram sets itself in array to meet David, and they fight with him;
௧௭அது தாவீதுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டபோது, அவன் இஸ்ரவேலையெல்லாம் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, யோர்தானைக் கடந்து, ஏலாமுக்குப் போனான்; சீரியர்கள் இராணுவங்களை அணிவகுத்து தாவீதுக்கு எதிராக நின்றார்கள்; அவனோடு யுத்தம்செய்கிறபோது,
18 and Aram flees from the presence of Israel, and David slays seven hundred charioteers and forty thousand horsemen of Aram, and he has struck Shobach, [the] head of its host, and he dies there.
௧௮சீரியர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாக தப்பி ஓடினார்கள்; தாவீது சீரியர்களில் 700 இரதவீரர்களையும் 40,000 குதிரைவீரர்களையும் கொன்று, அவர்களுடைய படைத்தலைவனான சோபாகையும் சாகும்படி வெட்டிப்போட்டான்.
19 And all the kings—servants of Hadadezer—see that they have been struck before Israel, and make peace with Israel, and serve them; and Aram is afraid to help the sons of Ammon anymore.
௧௯அப்பொழுது ஆதாரேசருக்கு பணிவிடை செய்கிற எல்லா ராஜாக்களும் தாங்கள் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாக முறியடிக்கப்பட்டதைக் கண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலர்களோடு சமாதானம்செய்து, அவர்களுக்கு பணிவிடை செய்தார்கள். அதன்பின்பு அம்மோன் மக்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்ய சீரியர்கள் பயப்பட்டார்கள்.
