2 Peter 1
1 Simeon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who obtained an equally precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
Symeon Petrus, Knecht und Apostel Jesus Christus an die, welche denselben kostbaren Glauben wie wir zugeteilt bekommen haben durch Gerechtigkeit unseres Gottes und Heilandes Jesus Christus.
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the acknowledgment of God and of Jesus our Lord!
Gnade und Friede werde euch in Fülle durch die Erkenntnis Gottes und unseres Herrn Jesus.
3 As His divine power has given to us all things pertaining to life and piety, through the acknowledgment of Him who called us through glory and virtue,
Wie uns seine göttliche Kraft alles, was zum Leben und zur Frömmigkeit gehört, geschenkt hat, mittelst der Erkenntnis dessen, der uns berufen hat, durch seine eigene Herrlichkeit und Tugend,
4 through which the most great and precious promises have been given to us, that through these you may become partakers of a divine nature, having escaped from the corruption [and] lust in the world.
wodurch uns die größten kostbaren Verheißungen geschenkt sind, damit ihr dadurch an der göttlichen Natur Anteil habet, entronnen dem Lustverderben in der Welt;
5 And [for] this same [reason] also, having brought in all diligence, supplement your faith with virtue, and with virtue—knowledge,
so bringet nun eben darum mit Aufwendung alles Fleißes in eurem Glauben dar die Tugend, in der Tugend die Erkenntnis,
6 and with knowledge—self-control, and with self-control—endurance, and with endurance—piety,
in der Erkenntnis die Enthaltsamkeit, in der Enthaltsamkeit die Geduld, in der Geduld die Frömmigkeit,
7 and with piety—brotherly kindness, and with brotherly kindness—love;
in der Frömmigkeit die Freundschaft, in der Freundschaft die Liebe.
8 for these things being in you and abounding, make [you] neither inert nor unfruitful in regard to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Denn wo diese Dinge bei euch vorhanden sind und wachsen, lassen sie euch nicht müßig noch ohne Frucht sein für die Erkenntnis unseres Herrn Jesus Christus.
9 for he with whom these things are not present is blind, dim-sighted, having become forgetful of the cleansing of his old sins;
Denn bei wem sie nicht sind, der ist blind in Kurzsichtigkeit, und hat die Reinigung seiner früheren Sünden in Vergessenheit kommen lassen.
10 therefore, rather, brothers, be diligent to make steadfast your calling and [divine] selection, for doing these things you may never stumble;
Darum Brüder, wendet vielmehr Fleiß an, eure Berufung und Erwählung beständig zu machen; denn thut ihr dies, so werdet ihr nimmermehr fallen.
11 in this way the entrance into the continuous kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly supplemented to you. (aiōnios g166)
Denn so wird euch reichlich gewährt werden der Eingang in das ewige Reich unseres Herrn und Heilandes Jesus Christus. (aiōnios g166)
12 Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you about these things, although you have known [them] and have been established in the present truth,
Darum will ich euch stets an diese Dinge erinnern, wenn ihr sie auch schon wisset und in der vorhandenen Wahrheit fest gegründet seid.
13 and I think right, so long as I am in this tent, to stir you up in reminding [you],
Ich achte es aber für Pflicht, so lange ich in dieser Hütte bin, euch durch Erinnerung wach zu halten,
14 having known that the laying aside of my tent is soon, even as our Lord Jesus Christ also showed to me.
in dem Bewußtsein, daß es bald zur Ablegung meiner Hütte kommt, wie es mir auch unser Herr Jesus Christus kund gethan hat.
15 And I will also be diligent [to ensure] that you always have a remembrance to make of these things after my departure.
Ich werde euch aber auch dafür sorgen, daß ihr jederzeit nach meinem Hingang im Stande seid, daran zu denken.
16 For having not followed out skillfully devised fables, we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but having become eyewitnesses of His majesty—
Denn nicht, weil wir wohlausgesonnenen Fabeln folgten, haben wir euch die Macht und Gegenwart unseres Herrn Jesus Christus kund gethan, sondern weil wir Augenzeugen seiner Majestät waren.
17 for having received honor and glory from God the Father, such a voice being borne to Him by the Excellent Glory: “This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I delighted”;
Nämlich wie er von Gott dem Vater Ehre und Ruhm empfangen hat, da von der hocherhabenen Herrlichkeit eine solche Stimme an ihn gelangte: dies ist mein geliebter Sohn, an welchem ich Wohlgefallen habe.
18 and we heard this voice borne out of Heaven, being with Him at the holy mountain.
Und diese Stimme haben wir vom Himmel kommen hören, da wir mit ihm waren auf dem heiligen Berge.
19 And we have a more firm prophetic word, to which we do well giving heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until day may dawn, and [the] morning star may arise in your hearts;
Und so ist uns das prophetische Wort fest - woran ihr gut thut euch zu halten als an eine Leuchte, die da scheint an finsterem Ort, bis der Tag durchbricht und lichtbringend aufgeht in euren Herzen,
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Writing comes of private exposition,
darüber vor allem klar, daß keine Schriftweissagung eigene Lösung zuläßt,
21 for prophecy never came by [the] will of man, but men spoke from God, being brought by the Holy Spirit.
denn nie ist eine Weissagung durch menschlichen Willen geschehen, sondern getragen vom heiligen Geist haben von Gott aus Menschen geredet.
