2 Peter 1
1 Simeon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who obtained an equally precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
イエズス、キリストの僕たり且使徒たるシモン、ペトロ、我神にして救主に在すイエズス、キリストの義によりて、我等と等しき信仰を得たる人々に[書簡を贈る]。
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the acknowledgment of God and of Jesus our Lord!
願はくは、神及び我主イエズス、キリストを熟知し奉る事によりて、恩寵と平安と汝等に加はらん事を。
3 As His divine power has given to us all things pertaining to life and piety, through the acknowledgment of Him who called us through glory and virtue,
第一項 益徳行を積むべき必要及び其所以。 キリストの神にて在せる大能は、其固有の光榮と能力とに由りて我等を召し給ひし神を知らしめて、総て生命と敬虔とに益する所のものを我等に賜ひしものなれば、
4 through which the most great and precious promises have been given to us, that through these you may become partakers of a divine nature, having escaped from the corruption [and] lust in the world.
又其光榮と能力とに由りて最も大いなる尊き約束を賜ひしは、汝等をして依りて以て此世に於る情慾の腐敗を避けて、神の本性に與る者たらしめ給はん為なれば、
5 And [for] this same [reason] also, having brought in all diligence, supplement your faith with virtue, and with virtue—knowledge,
汝等も亦十分に注意して、汝等の信仰に徳を加へ、徳に學識、
6 and with knowledge—self-control, and with self-control—endurance, and with endurance—piety,
學識に節制、節制に忍耐、忍耐に敬虔、
7 and with piety—brotherly kindness, and with brotherly kindness—love;
敬虔に兄弟的相愛、兄弟的相愛に愛[徳]を加へよ。
8 for these things being in you and abounding, make [you] neither inert nor unfruitful in regard to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ,
蓋若是等の事汝等にありて増加せば、汝等をして我主イエズス、キリストを識り奉るに於て、働かざるもの果を結ばざるものたらしめじ。
9 for he with whom these things are not present is blind, dim-sighted, having become forgetful of the cleansing of his old sins;
是等の事なき人は盲にして遠く見る能はず、其既往の罪を潔められし事を忘れたる者なり。
10 therefore, rather, brothers, be diligent to make steadfast your calling and [divine] selection, for doing these things you may never stumble;
然れば兄弟等よ、汝等の召されし事、選まれし事を、善業を以て愈固うするに努めよ、然て之を為すに於ては何時も躓く事なかるべし。 故に汝等が現に此眞理を知り、且固く此上に立てるに拘はらず、我尚常に汝等をして是等の事を記憶せしめんとす。
11 in this way the entrance into the continuous kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly supplemented to you. (aiōnios g166)
其は我主にして救主に在すイエズス、キリストの永遠の國に入るの恵を豊に加へらるべければなり。 (aiōnios g166)
12 Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you about these things, although you have known [them] and have been established in the present truth,
13 and I think right, so long as I am in this tent, to stir you up in reminding [you],
思ふに我が此幕屋に居る間は、此記憶を以て、汝等を励ますを至當なりとす。
14 having known that the laying aside of my tent is soon, even as our Lord Jesus Christ also showed to me.
我は我主イエズス、キリストの示し給ひし所に從ひて、我が此幕屋を下す事近きに在りと確信するが故に、
15 And I will also be diligent [to ensure] that you always have a remembrance to make of these things after my departure.
世を去りし後も汝等をして、屡是等の事を思出さしむる様勉めんとす。
16 For having not followed out skillfully devised fables, we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but having become eyewitnesses of His majesty—
蓋我等が主イエズス、キリストの能力と降臨とを汝等に告知らせしは、巧なる寓言に基けるに非ずして、其威光の目撃者とせられてなり。
17 for having received honor and glory from God the Father, such a voice being borne to Him by the Excellent Glory: “This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I delighted”;
即ち彼は神にて在す父より尊厳と光榮とを賜はり、偉大なる光榮より聲之が為に下りて、「是ぞ我心を安んぜる我愛子なる、之に聞け」、と言はれしなり。
18 and we heard this voice borne out of Heaven, being with Him at the holy mountain.
我等彼と共に聖山に在りし時、此聲の天より來りしを親しく聞けり。
19 And we have a more firm prophetic word, to which we do well giving heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until day may dawn, and [the] morning star may arise in your hearts;
又尚固くせられし預言者の言我等に在り、汝等之を以て暗き所を照らす燈とし、夜明けて日の汝等の心の中に出づるまで之を省みるを善しとす。
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Writing comes of private exposition,
先斯事を知るべし、即ち聖書の預言は総て一個人の解釈を以て解せらるるものに非ず、
21 for prophecy never came by [the] will of man, but men spoke from God, being brought by the Holy Spirit.
其は預言は昔人意に由りて齎されずして、神の聖人等が聖霊に感動せられて語りしものなればなり。
