2 Kings 9
1 And Elisha the prophet has called to one of the sons of the prophets and says to him, “Gird up your loins, and take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-Gilead,
പ്രവാചകനായ എലീശാ പ്രവാചകഗണത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഒരാളെ വിളിച്ച് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “നീ അര കെട്ടി ഈ തൈലപ്പാത്രവുമെടുത്ത് ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്ക് പോകുക.
2 and you have gone in there, and see Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, there, and you have gone in, and caused him to rise out of the midst of his brothers, and brought him into the inner part of an inner-chamber,
നീ അവിടെയെത്തുമ്പോൾ നിംശിയുടെ പൗത്രനും യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ പുത്രനുമായ യേഹുവിനെ അന്വേഷിക്കുക. അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന്, അവന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരുടെ മധ്യേനിന്ന് അവനെ ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് അകത്തെ മുറിയിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകുക.
3 and taken the vial of oil, and poured [it] on his head, and said, Thus said YHWH: I have anointed you for king to Israel; and you have opened the door, and fled, and do not wait.”
അതിനുശേഷം തൈലപ്പാത്രമെടുത്ത് തൈലം അവന്റെ തലയിലൊഴിച്ചിട്ട്, ‘ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഇസ്രായേലിനു രാജാവായി അഭിഷേകംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞശേഷം വാതിൽ തുറന്ന് ഓടിപ്പോരിക!”
4 And the young man goes—the young man the prophet—to Ramoth-Gilead,
അങ്ങനെ ആ യുവപ്രവാചകൻ ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.
5 and comes in, and behold, chiefs of the force are sitting, and he says, “I have a word for you, O chief!” And Jehu says, “To which of all of us?” And he says, “To you, O chief.”
അദ്ദേഹം അവിടെയെത്തിയപ്പോൾ സൈന്യാധിപന്മാർ ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു. “സൈന്യാധിപാ! എനിക്കങ്ങയോട് ഒരു സന്ദേശം അറിയിക്കാനുണ്ട്,” എന്ന് അയാൾ പറഞ്ഞു. “ഞങ്ങളിൽ ആരോട്,” എന്ന് യേഹു ചോദിച്ചു. “സൈന്യാധിപാ, അങ്ങയോടുതന്നെ,” എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
6 And he rises and comes into the house, and he pours the oil on his head, and says to him, “Thus said YHWH, God of Israel: I have anointed you for king to the people of YHWH, to Israel,
യേഹു എഴുന്നേറ്റു വീടിനുള്ളിലേക്കു കടന്നു. അപ്പോൾ ആ പ്രവാചകൻ യേഹുവിന്റെ തലയിൽ തൈലം ഒഴിച്ചിട്ട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞു: “ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ‘ഞാൻ നിന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനു രാജാവായി അഭിഷേകംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
7 and you have struck the house of your lord Ahab, and I have required the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of YHWH, from the hand of Jezebel;
നിന്റെ യജമാനനായ ആഹാബുഗൃഹത്തെ നീ നശിപ്പിക്കണം; എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ രക്തത്തിനും, ഈസബേൽ ചൊരിഞ്ഞ യഹോവയുടെ സകലദാസന്മാരുടെയും രക്തത്തിനും ഞാൻ പ്രതികാരംചെയ്യും.
8 and all the house of Ahab has perished, and I have cut off from Ahab those sitting on the wall, and restrained, and left, in Israel,
ആഹാബ് ഗൃഹം അശേഷം മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; ആഹാബ് ഗൃഹത്തിൽനിന്ന് ദാസനോ സ്വതന്ത്രനോ ആയി ഇസ്രായേലിൽ ശേഷിക്കുന്ന അവസാനത്തെ പുരുഷപ്രജയെയും ഞാൻ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.
9 and I have given up the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and as the house of Baasha son of Ahijah,
ഞാൻ ആഹാബുഗൃഹത്തെ നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഗൃഹംപോലെയും അഹീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശയുടെ ഗൃഹംപോലെയും ആക്കിത്തീർക്കും.
10 and dogs eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there is none burying”; and he opens the door and flees.
ഈസബേലിനെ യെസ്രീലിന്റെ മണ്ണിൽവെച്ച് നായ്ക്കൾ തിന്നുകളയും; അവളെ സംസ്കരിക്കാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.’” ഇത്രയും പറഞ്ഞതിനുശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം കതകുതുറന്ന് ഓടിപ്പോയി.
11 And Jehu has gone out to the servants of his lord, and [one] says to him, “Is there peace? Why did this madman come to you?” And he says to them, “You have known the man and his talk.”
യേഹു തന്നോടൊപ്പമുള്ള സൈന്യാധിപന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ വെളിയിലേക്കു വന്നപ്പോൾ അവരിൽ ഒരാൾ: “എല്ലാം ശുഭമായിരിക്കുന്നോ? ഈ ഭ്രാന്തൻ താങ്കളുടെ അടുത്തേക്കു വന്നത് എന്തിനാണ്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. “നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ആ മനുഷ്യനെ അറിയാമല്ലോ! എങ്ങനെയുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളാണ് അയാൾ പറയുകയെന്നും അറിയാമല്ലോ,” എന്ന് യേഹു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
12 And they say, “False! Declare to us now”; and he says, “He spoke thus and thus to me, saying, Thus said YHWH: I have anointed you for king to Israel.”
“അതു ശരിയല്ല; കാര്യം ഞങ്ങളോടു പറയൂ!” എന്ന് അവർ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. “‘ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഇസ്രായേലിനു രാജാവായി അഭിഷേകംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു,’ എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നാണ് അയാൾ എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞത്,” എന്ന് യേഹു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
13 And they hurry—each [one]—and take his garment, and put [it] under him at the top of the stairs, and blow with a horn, and say, “Jehu has reigned!”
അവർ അതിവേഗം തങ്ങളുടെ പുറങ്കുപ്പായങ്ങൾ അഴിച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ പടികളിന്മേൽ വിരിച്ചു. അതിനുശേഷം അവർ കാഹളമൂതി, “യേഹു രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നു!” എന്നു വിളംബരംചെയ്തു.
14 And Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspires against Joram. And Joram was keeping in Ramoth-Gilead, he and all Israel, from the presence of Hazael king of Aram,
അങ്ങനെ നിംശിയുടെ പൗത്രനും യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ പുത്രനുമായ യേഹു യോരാമിനെതിരേ ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തി (ഈ സമയത്ത് യോരാമും സകല ഇസ്രായേലും അരാംരാജാവായ ഹസായേലിനെതിരേ ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിൽ കാവൽപ്പട്ടാളത്തെ ഏർപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നു.
15 and King Joram turns back to be healed in Jezreel, of the wounds with which the Arameans strike him in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram. And Jehu says, “If it is your mind, do not let an escaped one go out from the city, to go to declare [it] in Jezreel.”
എന്നാൽ അരാംരാജാവായ ഹസായേലുമായുണ്ടായ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ അരാമ്യർ തനിക്കേൽപ്പിച്ച മുറിവുകൾ ചികിത്സിച്ചു ഭേദമാക്കുന്നതിന് യോരാംരാജാവ് യെസ്രീലിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയിരുന്നു). അതുകൊണ്ട് യേഹു പറഞ്ഞു, “നിങ്ങൾക്കു സമ്മതമെങ്കിൽ യെസ്രീലിൽ ചെന്ന് ഈ വിവരം അറിയിക്കുന്നതിന് നഗരത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഒരുവനെയും വിട്ടയയ്ക്കരുത്.”
16 And Jehu rides, and goes to Jezreel, for Joram is lying there, and Ahaziah king of Judah has gone down to see Joram.
പിന്നെ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ രഥത്തിൽക്കയറി യെസ്രീലിലേക്ക് ഓടിച്ചുപോയി; കാരണം യോരാം അവിടെ വിശ്രമത്തിലായിരുന്നു; യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ കാണുന്നതിനായി അങ്ങോട്ടു പോയിരുന്നു.
17 And the watchman is standing on the tower in Jezreel, and sees the company of Jehu in his coming, and says, “I see a company”; and Joram says, “Take a rider and send [him] to meet them, and let him say, Is there peace?”
യെസ്രീലിന്റെ ഗോപുരത്തിങ്കൽ നിന്നിരുന്ന നിരീക്ഷകൻ യേഹുവിന്റെ സൈന്യം സമീപിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ട് വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു: “കുറെ പടയാളികൾ ഇങ്ങോട്ടു വരുന്നതു ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു.” അപ്പോൾ യോരാം: “ഒരു കുതിരച്ചേവകനെ വിളിക്കുക. ‘നിങ്ങൾ സമാധാനവുമായി വരികയാണോ?’ എന്ന് അയാൾ ചെന്ന് അവരോടു ചോദിക്കട്ടെ.” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു.
18 And the rider on the horse goes to meet him and says, “Thus said the king: Is there peace?” And Jehu says, “And what is peace to you? Turn around behind me.” And the watchman declares, saying, “The messenger came to them, and he has not returned.”
അങ്ങനെ ഒരുത്തൻ കുതിരപ്പുറത്തുകയറി അദ്ദേഹത്തെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്ന്, “‘നിങ്ങൾ സമാധാനവുമായാണോ വരുന്നത്,’ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. “സമാധാനംകൊണ്ട് നിനക്ക് എന്തുകാര്യം? നീ എന്റെ പിന്നണിയിൽ ചേർന്നുകൊള്ളുക,” എന്ന് യേഹു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു. “സന്ദേശവാഹകൻ അവരുടെ അടുത്തെത്തി. പക്ഷേ, അയാൾ തിരിച്ചു വരുന്നില്ല,” എന്നു നിരീക്ഷകൻ അറിയിച്ചു.
19 And he sends a second rider on a horse, and he comes to them and says, “Thus said the king: Is there peace?” And Jehu says, “And what is peace to you? Turn around behind me.”
അതുകൊണ്ടു രാജാവ് രണ്ടാമതും ഒരു കുതിരച്ചേവകനെ അയച്ചു. അയാളും അവരുടെ അടുത്തുവന്ന്, “‘നിങ്ങൾ സമാധാനവുമായാണോ വരുന്നത്,’ എന്നു രാജാവ് ചോദിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. “സമാധാനംകൊണ്ട് നിനക്ക് എന്തുകാര്യം? നീ എന്റെ പിന്നണിയിൽ ചേർന്നുകൊള്ളുക,” എന്ന് യേഹു അയാളോടും മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
20 And the watchman declares, saying, “He came to them, and he has not returned, and the driving [is] like the driving of Jehu son of Nimshi, for he drives with madness.”
നിരീക്ഷകൻ അറിയിച്ചു: “അയാളും അവരുടെ അടുത്തെത്തി. എന്നാൽ അയാളും തിരികെ വരുന്നില്ല. രഥം ഓടിക്കുന്നത്, നിംശിയുടെ മകനായ യേഹു ഓടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തോന്നുന്നു—ഒരു ഭ്രാന്തനെപ്പോലെയാണല്ലോ അദ്ദേഹം ഓടിക്കുന്നത്!”
21 And Jehoram says, “Harness”; and his chariot is harnessed, and Jehoram king of Israel goes out, and Ahaziah king of Judah, each in his chariot, and they go out to meet Jehu, and find him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
“എന്റെ രഥം പൂട്ടുക,” എന്നു യോരാം ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു. അതു പൂട്ടിക്കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ യോരാമും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവും അവരവരുടെ രഥങ്ങളിൽക്കയറി യേഹുവിനെ എതിരേൽക്കുന്നതിനായി ഓടിച്ചുപോയി. യെസ്രീല്യനായ നാബോത്തിന്റെ വകയായിരുന്ന നിലത്തിനരികെയുള്ള സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ച് അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടി.
22 And it comes to pass, at Jehoram’s seeing Jehu, that he says, “Is there peace, Jehu?” And he says, “What [is] the peace, while the whoredoms of your mother Jezebel, and her witchcrafts, are many?”
യേഹുവിനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ യോരാം ചോദിച്ചു: “യേഹുവേ, നീ സമാധാനവുമായാണോ വരുന്നത്?” യേഹു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു: “നിന്റെ അമ്മയായ ഈസബേലിന്റെ വിഗ്രഹാരാധനയും ക്ഷുദ്രപ്രയോഗവും പെരുകിയിരിക്കുന്നകാലത്തോളം എങ്ങനെ സമാധാനമുണ്ടാകും?”
23 And Jehoram turns his hands and flees, and says to Ahaziah, “Deceit, O Ahaziah!”
അപ്പോൾ യോരാം അഹസ്യാവിനോട്, “അഹസ്യാവേ, ഇതു ദ്രോഹം!” എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് രഥം തിരിച്ച് ഓടിച്ചുപോയി.
24 And Jehu has filled his hand with a bow, and strikes Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow goes out from his heart, and he bows down in his chariot.
അപ്പോൾ യേഹു തന്റെ വില്ലുകുലച്ച് യോരാമിന്റെ തോളുകൾക്കിടയിൽ എയ്തു. അമ്പ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയം തുളച്ചുകയറി; അദ്ദേഹം ഉടനടി തന്റെ രഥത്തിൽ വീണു.
25 And [Jehu] says to his captain Bidkar, “Lift up, cast him into the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite—for remember, you and I were riding together after his father Ahab, and YHWH lifted this burden on him:
യേഹു തന്റെ തേരാളിയായ ബിദ്കാരിനോട് പറഞ്ഞു: “അയാളെ എടുത്ത് യെസ്രീല്യനായ നാബോത്തിന്റെ വകയായിരുന്ന നിലത്തിലേക്ക് എറിഞ്ഞുകളയുക. ഇവന്റെ പിതാവായ ആഹാബിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഞാനും നീയും രഥമോടിച്ചുപോയതും അന്ന് യഹോവ അയാളെക്കുറിച്ച് ഈ പ്രവചനം നടത്തിയതും ഓർത്തുകൊള്ളുക:
26 Have I not seen the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons last night—a declaration of YHWH—indeed, I have repaid to you in this portion—a declaration of YHWH—and now, lift up, cast him into the portion, according to the word of YHWH.”
‘യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇന്നലെ ഞാൻ നാബോത്തിന്റെയും അയാളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെയും രക്തം കണ്ടു. ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചുതന്നെ നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അതിനുപകരം കൊടുപ്പിക്കും എന്ന് യഹോവ വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.’ അതുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടനുസരിച്ച് അയാളെ എടുത്ത് ആ സ്ഥലത്തുതന്നെ എറിഞ്ഞുകളയുക.”
27 And Ahaziah king of Judah has seen, and flees the way of the garden-house, and Jehu pursues after him, and says, “Strike him—also him—in the chariot,” in the going up to Gur, that [is] Ibleam, and he flees to Megiddo, and dies there,
സംഭവിച്ചതെന്താണെന്ന് യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവ് കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ബേത്ത്-ഹഗ്ഗാനുനേരേയുള്ള വഴിയിലൂടെ ഓടി. “അവനെയും വെട്ടിക്കളയുക,” എന്ന് യേഹു കൽപ്പിച്ചു. അവർ അയാളെ യിബ്ലെയാമിനു സമീപം ഗൂരിലേക്കുള്ള കയറ്റത്തിൽവെച്ച് രഥത്തിൽവെച്ചുതന്നെ വെട്ടി. എന്നാൽ അഹസ്യാവ് മെഗിദ്ദോവിലേക്കു രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. അവിടെവെച്ചു മരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
28 and his servants carry him to Jerusalem in a chariot, and bury him in his burying-place with his fathers in the City of David.
അഹസ്യാവിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ രഥത്തിൽത്തന്നെ ജെറുശലേമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുകയും ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കലുള്ള സ്വന്തം കല്ലറയിൽ അടക്കംചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്തു.
29 And in the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab, Ahaziah reigned over Judah.
ആഹാബിന്റെ മകനായ യോരാമിന്റെ പതിനൊന്നാമാണ്ടിൽ അഹസ്യാവ് യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ രാജാവായിത്തീർന്നിരുന്നു.
30 And Jehu comes to Jezreel, and Jezebel has heard, and puts her eyes in paint and beautifies her head, and looks out through the window.
അതിനുശേഷം യേഹു യെസ്രീലിലേക്കു വരുന്നതായിക്കേട്ടപ്പോൾ ഈസബേൽ കണ്ണെഴുതി, മുടിചീകി, ഒരുങ്ങി ഒരു ജനാലയിൽക്കൂടി പുറത്തേക്കു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
31 And Jehu has come into the gate, and she says, “Was there peace [for] Zimri—slayer of his lord?”
യേഹു കൊട്ടാരകവാടംകടന്നു വന്നപ്പോൾ അവർ വിളിച്ചുചോദിച്ചു: “യജമാനന്റെ കൊലപാതകിയായ സിമ്രീ, നീ സമാധാനവുമായാണോ വരുന്നത്?”
32 And he lifts up his face to the window and says, “Who [is] with me? Who?” And two [or] three eunuchs look out to him;
അദ്ദേഹം മുകളിലത്തെ ജനാലയിങ്കലേക്കുനോക്കി, “ആരുണ്ട്, എന്റെ പക്ഷത്ത്? ആരുണ്ട്?” എന്നു വിളിച്ചുചോദിച്ചു. രണ്ടുമൂന്നു ഷണ്ഡന്മാർ പുറത്തേക്കുനോക്കി.
33 and he says, “Let her go”; and they let her go, and [some] of her blood is sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses, and he treads her down.
“അവളെ താഴേ തള്ളിയിടുക!” എന്ന് യേഹു കൽപ്പിച്ചു. അതിനാൽ അവർ അവളെ താഴേക്കു തള്ളിയിട്ടു. യേഹു അവളെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു. അവളുടെ രക്തം മതിലിന്മേലും കുതിരകളിന്മേലും തെറിച്ചു.
34 And he comes in, and eats, and drinks, and says, “Now look after this cursed one and bury her, for she [is] a king’s daughter.”
യേഹു ഉള്ളിൽച്ചെന്ന് ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയും പാനംചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്തു. പിന്നെ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോട് പറഞ്ഞു: “ആ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൾ രാജപുത്രിയായിരുന്നല്ലോ! അവളെ ചെന്നുനോക്കി മറവുചെയ്യുക!” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു.
35 And they go to bury her, and have not found [anything] of her except the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands.
എന്നാൽ അവളെ മറവുചെയ്യുന്നതിനായി ചെന്നപ്പോൾ അവളുടെ തലയോടും പാദങ്ങളും കൈപ്പത്തികളുമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും അവർ കണ്ടില്ല.
36 And they turn back, and declare [it] to him, and he says, “It [is] the word of YHWH that He spoke by the hand of this servant, Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel the dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel,
അവർ തിരിച്ചുചെന്ന് യേഹുവിനോടു വിവരം പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം: “യെസ്രീലിന്റെ പ്രദേശത്തുവെച്ച് നായ്ക്കൾ ഈസബേലിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നും.
37 and the carcass of Jezebel has been as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, that they do not say, This [is] Jezebel.”
‘ഇത് ഈസബേലാണ്,’ എന്ന് ആർക്കും പറയാൻ കഴിയാത്തവിധം ഈസബേലിന്റെ ശവം യെസ്രീൽപ്രദേശത്ത് വയലിലെ ചാണകംപോലെയാകും എന്നു തിശ്ബ്യനായ ഏലിയാവ് എന്ന തന്റെ ദാസൻമുഖേന യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരമാണിത്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
