2 Kings 8
1 And Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had revived, saying, “Rise and go, you and your household, and sojourn where you sojourn, for YHWH has called for a famine, and also, it is coming to the land [for] seven years.”
Ê-li-sê bảo người phụ nữ có con đã được ông cứu sống lại: “Bà nên đem gia đình đi một nơi khác, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ làm cho nước Ít-ra-ên bị nạn đói trong bảy năm.”
2 And the woman rises, and does according to the word of the man of God, and goes, she and her household, and sojourns in the land of the Philistines [for] seven years.
Người phụ nữ vâng lời người của Đức Chúa Trời dạy, đem gia đình đến đất Phi-li-tin sống trong bảy năm.
3 And it comes to pass, at the end of seven years, that the woman turns back from the land of the Philistines, and goes out to cry to the king for her house and for her field.
Sau đó, người phụ nữ ấy từ đất Phi-li-tin trở về và đến xin vua phục hồi chủ quyền nhà cửa đất đai cho mình.
4 And the king is speaking to Gehazi, servant of the man of God, saying, “Please recount to me the whole of the great things that Elisha has done.”
Vào lúc ấy, vua đang nói chuyện với Ghê-ha-si, đầy tớ của Đức Chúa Trời. Vua bảo Ghê-ha-si kể cho mình những việc lớn lao Tiên tri Ê-li-sê đã làm.
5 And it comes to pass, he is recounting to the king how he had revived the dead, and behold, the woman whose son he had revived is crying to the king for her house and for her field, and Gehazi says, “My lord, O king, this [is] the woman, and this [is] her son, whom Elisha revived.”
Vừa lúc Ghê-ha-si thuật đến việc Ê-li-sê cứu người chết sống lại, mẹ con bà kia bước vào. Ghê-ha-si nói ngay: “Đây là hai mẹ con tôi vừa mới nói đến. Cậu này chính là người được Tiên tri Ê-li-sê cứu sống lại.”
6 And the king inquires of the woman, and she recounts to him, and the king appoints a certain eunuch to her, saying, “Give back all that she has, and all the increase of the field from the day of her leaving the land even until now.”
Vua hỏi bà ấy việc xảy ra thế nào, và bà kể lại cho vua nghe mọi sự. Sau đó, vua bảo một quan chức lo việc phục hồi tài sản cho bà, kể cả hoa màu thu được suốt thời gian bà đi vắng.
7 And Elisha comes to Damascus, and Ben-Hadad king of Aram is sick, and it is declared to him, saying, “The man of God has come here.”
Ê-li-sê đi đến Đa-mách nhằm lúc Bên Ha-đát, vua A-ram đang bệnh. Hay tin người của Đức Chúa Trời đến,
8 And the king says to Hazael, “Take a present in your hand, and go to meet the man of God, and you have sought YHWH by him, saying, Do I revive from this sickness?”
vua bảo tướng Ha-xa-ên: “Đem lễ vật đi tặng người của Đức Chúa Trời, và xin người cầu hỏi Đức Chúa Trời xem ta có khỏi bệnh không?”
9 And Hazael goes to meet him, and takes a present in his hand, even of every good thing of Damascus, a burden of forty camels, and he comes in and stands before him, and says, “Your son Ben-Hadad, king of Aram, has sent me to you, saying, Do I revive from this sickness?”
Ha-xa-ên lấy các phẩm vật giá trị của Đa-mách, chất đầy trên bốn mươi con lạc đà làm lễ vật, đi đến đứng trước mặt Ê-li-sê, thưa: “Con ngài là Bên Ha-đát vua A-ram sai tôi đến cầu hỏi ngài; xem vua có được khỏi bệnh không?”
10 And Elisha says to him, “Go, say, You certainly do not revive, seeing [that] YHWH has showed me that he surely dies.”
Ê-li-sê đáp: “Hãy về nói với vua: ‘Vua sẽ khỏi,’ thế nhưng, Chúa Hằng Hữu lại cho tôi biết: ‘Vua chắc chắn phải chết.’”
11 And he sets his face, indeed, he sets [it] until he is ashamed, and the man of God weeps.
Ê-li-sê nhìn Ha-xa-ên chằm chặp, đến độ người này phải ngượng ngùng; rồi tiên tri khóc.
12 And Hazael says, “Why is my lord weeping?” And he says, “Because I have known the evil that you do to the sons of Israel—you send their fortifications into fire, and you slay their young men with sword, and you dash their sucklings to pieces, and you rip up their pregnant women.”
Ha-xa-ên hỏi: “Sao ngài khóc?” Ê-li-sê đáp: “Vì tôi biết những điều tai hại ông sẽ làm cho người Ít-ra-ên. Ông sẽ thiêu hủy đồn lũy, chém giết thanh niên, chà nát trẻ con, mổ bụng đàn bà có thai!”
13 And Hazael says, “But what [is] your servant—the dog, that he does this great thing?” And Elisha says, “YHWH has showed me you—king of Aram.”
Ha-xa-ên hỏi: “Nhưng đầy tớ ông chỉ là một con chó, sao có thể làm được những việc lớn thế?” Ê-li-sê trả lời: “Chúa cho tôi biết ông sẽ làm vua A-ram.”
14 And he goes from Elisha, and comes to his lord, and he says to him, “What did Elisha say to you?” And he says, “He said to me, You certainly recover.”
Ha-xa-ên từ giã Ê-li-sê. Về đến nơi, vua hỏi: “Ê-li-sê nói thế nào?” Ha-xa-ên đáp: “Ông ấy nói thế nào vua cũng khỏi bệnh.”
15 And it comes to pass on the next day, that he takes the coarse cloth, and dips [it] in water, and spreads [it] on his face, and he dies, and Hazael reigns in his stead.
Nhưng qua hôm sau, Ha-xa-ên lấy một cái chăn nhúng nước, đắp lên mặt Bên Ha-đát làm vua chết ngạt. Ha-xa-ên lên ngôi làm vua.
16 And in the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab, king of Israel—and Jehoshaphat [is] king of Judah—Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, has reigned;
Vào năm thứ năm đời Giô-ram, con A-háp, vua Ít-ra-ên, Giô-ram, con Giô-sa-phát lên làm vua Giu-đa.
17 he was a son of thirty-two years in his reigning, and he has reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
Giô-ram được ba mươi hai tuổi khi lên ngôi và trị vì tám năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
18 And he walks in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab did, for a daughter of Ahab was to him for a wife, and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH,
Vua đi theo đường lối các vua Ít-ra-ên và gian ác như Vua A-háp, vì vua cưới con gái A-háp làm vợ. Vậy, Giô-ram làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu.
19 and YHWH was not willing to destroy Judah, for the sake of His servant David, as He said to him, to give a lamp to him—to his sons [for] all the days.
Nhưng vì Đa-vít, đầy tớ Ngài, Chúa không tiêu diệt Giu-đa; Ngài đã hứa cho Đa-vít có người nối ngôi mãi mãi.
20 In his days Edom has revolted from under the hand of Judah, and they cause a king to reign over them,
Trong đời Giô-ram, người Ê-đôm nổi dậy chống chính quyền Giu-đa, tôn lên cho mình một vua.
21 and Joram passes over to Zair, and all the chariots with him, and he himself has risen by night, and strikes Edom that is coming around to him, and the heads of the chariots, and the people flee to their tents;
Giô-ram kéo quân sang Xai-rơ, đem theo tất cả chiến xa mình. Nhưng vua bị quân Ê-đôm bao vây. Đang đêm, vua và các quan chỉ huy chiến xa xông ra, phá vòng vây và giết nhiều quân sĩ Ê-đôm. Tuy nhiên, địch quân thoát được về trại.
22 and Edom revolts from under the hand of Judah until this day; then Libnah revolts at that time.
Từ đó đến nay, Ê-đôm không còn thần phục Giu-đa nữa. Líp-na cũng nổi dậy vào dịp ấy.
23 And the rest of the matters of Joram and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
Các việc khác của Giô-ram đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Giu-đa.
24 And Joram lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the City of David, and his son Ahaziah reigns in his stead.
Giô-ram an giấc với tổ tiên, được chôn với họ trong Thành Đa-vít. A-cha-xia, con vua lên ngôi kế vị.
25 In the twelfth year of Joram son of Ahab, king of Israel, Ahaziah son of Jehoram, king of Judah, has reigned;
Vào năm thứ mười hai đời Giô-ram, con A-háp, vua Ít-ra-ên, A-cha-xia, con Giô-ram lên làm vua Giu-đa.
26 Ahaziah [is] a son of twenty-two years in his reigning, and he has reigned one year in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Athaliah daughter of Omri, king of Israel,
Lúc ấy vua được hai mươi hai tuổi, và cai trị một năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ là A-tha-li, cháu nội của Ôm-ri, vua Ít-ra-ên.
27 and he walks in the way of the house of Ahab, and does evil in the eyes of YHWH, like the house of Ahab, for he [is] son-in-law of the house of Ahab.
Vua theo đường của nhà A-háp, làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, vì vua là rể của nhà A-háp.
28 And he goes with Joram son of Ahab to battle with Hazael king of Aram in Ramoth-Gilead, and the Arameans strike Joram,
Vua liên minh với Giô-ram, con A-háp đi đánh Ha-xa-ên, vua A-ram tại Ra-mốt Ga-la-át. Trong trận này, Giô-ram bị thương,
29 and Joram the king turns back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds with which the Arameans strike him in Ramah, in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram, and Ahaziah son of Jehoram, king of Judah, has gone down to see Joram son of Ahab in Jezreel, for he is sick.
ông liền quay về Gít-rê-ên để chữa các vết thương. A-cha-xia, vua Giu-đa xuống Gít-rê-ên thăm Giô-ram đang bị thương.
