< 2 Kings 8 >

1 And Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had revived, saying, “Rise and go, you and your household, and sojourn where you sojourn, for YHWH has called for a famine, and also, it is coming to the land [for] seven years.”
Mu biro ebyo Erisa n’agamba omukazi gwe yazuukiriza mutabani we nti, “Golokoka ove wano ogende n’ab’omu nnyumba yo bonna mu nsi gy’oliyinza okubeeramu, kubanga Mukama alireeta ekyeeya mu nsi okumala emyaka musanvu.”
2 And the woman rises, and does according to the word of the man of God, and goes, she and her household, and sojourns in the land of the Philistines [for] seven years.
Omukazi n’asitukiramu n’akola ng’omusajja wa Katonda bwe yayogera, n’alaga ye n’ab’omu nnyumba ye mu nsi y’Abafirisuuti okumala emyaka musanvu.
3 And it comes to pass, at the end of seven years, that the woman turns back from the land of the Philistines, and goes out to cry to the king for her house and for her field.
Oluvannyuma lw’emyaka omusanvu, n’akomawo okuva mu nsi y’Abafirisuuti, n’alaga eri kabaka okumwegayirira addizibwe ekibanja kye n’ennyumba ye.
4 And the king is speaking to Gehazi, servant of the man of God, saying, “Please recount to me the whole of the great things that Elisha has done.”
Mu kiseera ekyo kye kimu kabaka yali anyumyamu ne Gekazi omuweereza w’omusajja wa Katonda, nga kabaka amugambye nti, “Ntegeeza ebintu ebikulu byonna Erisa by’akoze.”
5 And it comes to pass, he is recounting to the king how he had revived the dead, and behold, the woman whose son he had revived is crying to the king for her house and for her field, and Gehazi says, “My lord, O king, this [is] the woman, and this [is] her son, whom Elisha revived.”
Awo Gekazi bwe yali ng’akyanyumiza kabaka, engeri Erisa bwe yazuukiza abafu, omukazi eyali ne mutabani we, Erisa gwe yazuukiza n’atuuka, okwegayirira kabaka ng’asaba ekibanja kye n’ennyumba ye. Gekazi n’ayogera nti, “Mukama wange kabaka, ono ye mukazi, era ne mutabani we Erisa gwe yazuukiza y’oyo.”
6 And the king inquires of the woman, and she recounts to him, and the king appoints a certain eunuch to her, saying, “Give back all that she has, and all the increase of the field from the day of her leaving the land even until now.”
Awo kabaka bwe yabuuza omukazi, n’amutegeeza nti bwe kyali. N’alyoka alagira omu ku bakungu amutereereze ensonga ze; n’amugamba nti, “Muddize buli kintu kyonna ekikye, n’obusuulu bwonna obwa kuŋŋaanyizibwa okuva mu kibanja kye okuva ku lunaku lwe yakivaamu okutuusa kaakano.”
7 And Elisha comes to Damascus, and Ben-Hadad king of Aram is sick, and it is declared to him, saying, “The man of God has come here.”
Erisa n’agenda e Ddamasiko n’asanga Benikadadi kabaka w’e Busuuli ng’alwadde. Kabaka bwe yategeezebwa nti, “Omusajja wa Katonda atuuse mu kitundu,”
8 And the king says to Hazael, “Take a present in your hand, and go to meet the man of God, and you have sought YHWH by him, saying, Do I revive from this sickness?”
n’agamba Kazayeeri nti, “Ffuna ekirabo, ogende osisinkane omusajja wa Katonda, weebuuze ku Mukama ng’oyita mu ye oba, ndiwona endwadde eno.”
9 And Hazael goes to meet him, and takes a present in his hand, even of every good thing of Damascus, a burden of forty camels, and he comes in and stands before him, and says, “Your son Ben-Hadad, king of Aram, has sent me to you, saying, Do I revive from this sickness?”
Kazayeeri n’agenda okusisinkana Erisa, n’amutwalira n’ebirabo eby’engeri zonna okuva e Ddamasiko, ku ŋŋamira amakumi ana. N’agenda n’ayimirira mu maaso ge, n’amugamba nti, “Mutabani wo Benikadadi kabaka w’e Busuuli antumye okukubuuza nti, ‘Ndiwona endwadde eno?’”
10 And Elisha says to him, “Go, say, You certainly do not revive, seeing [that] YHWH has showed me that he surely dies.”
Erisa n’amuddamu nti, “Genda omutegeeze nti, ‘Ojja kuwona;’ naye Mukama akimbikulidde nti talirema kufa.”
11 And he sets his face, indeed, he sets [it] until he is ashamed, and the man of God weeps.
N’amutunuulira n’amaaso ag’enkaliriza, okutuusa Kazayeeri bwe yakwatibwa ensonyi, omusajja wa Katonda n’atandika okukaaba.
12 And Hazael says, “Why is my lord weeping?” And he says, “Because I have known the evil that you do to the sons of Israel—you send their fortifications into fire, and you slay their young men with sword, and you dash their sucklings to pieces, and you rip up their pregnant women.”
Kazayeeri n’abuuza nti, “Kiki ekikaabya mukama wange?” Erisa n’amuddamu nti, “Kubanga mmanyi obubi bw’olikola Abayisirayiri; olikuma omuliro ku bigo byabwe, n’otta abavubuka baabwe n’ekitala, n’osesebbulira abaana abato ku ttaka, era n’obaaga n’abakyala abali embuto.”
13 And Hazael says, “But what [is] your servant—the dog, that he does this great thing?” And Elisha says, “YHWH has showed me you—king of Aram.”
Awo Kazayeeri n’addamu nti, “Nze ani omuddu wo, embwa obubwa, ayinza okukola ekintu ng’ekyo?” Erisa n’amuddamu nti, “Mukama akimbikulidde nti ggwe ogenda okubeera kabaka w’e Busuuli.”
14 And he goes from Elisha, and comes to his lord, and he says to him, “What did Elisha say to you?” And he says, “He said to me, You certainly recover.”
Awo n’ava mu maaso ga Erisa, n’addayo eri mukama we. Benikadadi n’amubuuza nti, “Erisa yakugambye ki?” Kazayeeri n’amuddamu nti, “Yaŋŋambye nti eky’amazima ojja kuwona.”
15 And it comes to pass on the next day, that he takes the coarse cloth, and dips [it] in water, and spreads [it] on his face, and he dies, and Hazael reigns in his stead.
Naye olunaku olwaddirira, enkeera, n’addira ekiwero ekinene, n’akinnyika mu mazzi, n’akibikka ku maaso ga kabaka, okutuusa bwe yafa. N’oluvannyuma Kazayeeri n’alya obwakabaka mu kifo kye.
16 And in the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab, king of Israel—and Jehoshaphat [is] king of Judah—Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, has reigned;
Mu mwaka ogwokutaano nga Yolaamu mutabani wa Akabu ye kabaka wa Isirayiri, Yekolaamu mutabani wa Yekosafaati, kabaka wa Yuda, n’atandika okufuga Yuda.
17 he was a son of thirty-two years in his reigning, and he has reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
Yalina emyaka amakumi asatu mu ebiri, we yaliira obwakabaka, era n’afugira emyaka munaana mu Yerusaalemi.
18 And he walks in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab did, for a daughter of Ahab was to him for a wife, and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH,
Yekolaamu n’atambulira mu makubo ga bassekabaka ba Isirayiri ng’ab’ennyumba ya Akabu bwe baakola, n’okuwasa n’awasa omu ku bawala ba Akabu. N’akola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama.
19 and YHWH was not willing to destroy Judah, for the sake of His servant David, as He said to him, to give a lamp to him—to his sons [for] all the days.
Naye Mukama n’atazikiriza Yuda, ku lwa Dawudi omuddu we, gwe yasuubiza nti alireka ettabaaza ye ng’eyaka n’okutuusa ku bazzukulu be emirembe gyonna.
20 In his days Edom has revolted from under the hand of Judah, and they cause a king to reign over them,
Mu mirembe gya Yekolaamu, Edomu ne bajeemera obufuzi bwa Yuda, ne bassaawo kabaka owaabwe.
21 and Joram passes over to Zair, and all the chariots with him, and he himself has risen by night, and strikes Edom that is coming around to him, and the heads of the chariots, and the people flee to their tents;
Awo Yekolaamu n’asomoka n’agenda e Zayiri n’amagaali ge, n’agolokoka mu kiro n’abaduumizi be ne batta Abayedomu abaali bamuzingizza, olwo eggye lye ne lidduka okuddayo ewaabwe.
22 and Edom revolts from under the hand of Judah until this day; then Libnah revolts at that time.
Okuva mu kiseera ekyo Edomu n’ajeemera obufuzi bwa Yuda n’okutuusa ku lunaku lwa leero. Mu kiseera kye kimu ab’e Libuna nabo ne bajeema.
23 And the rest of the matters of Joram and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
Ebyafaayo ebirala ebyabaawo ku mulembe gwa Yekolaamu, ne bye yakola byonna, tebyawandiikibwa mu kitabo eky’ebyomumirembe gya bassekabaka ba Yuda?
24 And Joram lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the City of David, and his son Ahaziah reigns in his stead.
Yekolaamu n’afa n’aziikibwa ku biggya bya bajjajjaabe mu kibuga kya Dawudi. Akaziya mutabani we n’amusikira.
25 In the twelfth year of Joram son of Ahab, king of Israel, Ahaziah son of Jehoram, king of Judah, has reigned;
Mu mwaka ogw’ekkumi n’ebiri nga Yolaamu mutabani wa Akabu ye kabaka wa Isirayiri, Akaziya mutabani wa Yekolaamu kabaka wa Yuda, n’atandika okufuga Yuda.
26 Ahaziah [is] a son of twenty-two years in his reigning, and he has reigned one year in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Athaliah daughter of Omri, king of Israel,
Akaziya yalina emyaka amakumi abiri mu ebiri we yaliira obwakabaka, n’afugira omwaka gumu mu Yerusaalemi. Erinnya lya nnyina ye yali Asaliya, muzzukulu wa Omuli kabaka wa Isirayiri.
27 and he walks in the way of the house of Ahab, and does evil in the eyes of YHWH, like the house of Ahab, for he [is] son-in-law of the house of Ahab.
N’atambulira mu makubo ga b’ennyumba ya Akabu n’akola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama, ng’ab’omu nnyumba ya Akabu bwe baakola, kubanga yali mukoddomi wa nnyumba ya Akabu.
28 And he goes with Joram son of Ahab to battle with Hazael king of Aram in Ramoth-Gilead, and the Arameans strike Joram,
Akaziya n’agenda ne Yolaamu mutabani wa Akabu okutabaala Kazayeeri kabaka w’e Busuuli e Lamosugireyaadi, era eyo Abasuuli ne bafumitirayo Yolaamu, n’afunirayo ebiwundu.
29 and Joram the king turns back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds with which the Arameans strike him in Ramah, in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram, and Ahaziah son of Jehoram, king of Judah, has gone down to see Joram son of Ahab in Jezreel, for he is sick.
Awo kabaka Yolaamu n’addayo e Yezuleeri okumujjanjaba ebiwundu Abasuuli bye baamuleetako ng’ali e Lama, bwe yali ng’alwanagana ne Kazayeeri kabaka w’e Busuuli. Akaziya mutabani wa Yekolaamu kabaka wa Yuda n’aserengeta e Yezuleeri okulaba ku Yolaamu mutabani wa Akabu, kubanga yali afumitiddwa ebiwundu.
