< 2 Kings 6 >

1 And sons of the prophet say to Elisha, “Now behold, the place where we are dwelling before you is too narrow for us;
Nikhat hi themgao honkhat Elisha kom’a ahung nguvin hitin aseijuve, “Nangman nahet ma bang hin nangtoh ikimu to nao mun hi aneobehseh jenge.
2 please let us go to the Jordan, and we each take one beam from there, and we make a place there for ourselves to dwell there”; and he says, “Go.”
Jordan vadung langa chesuh uhitin thing gatan uhitin ikikhop khom nadiu munthah khat kisah dohu hite,” ahung tiuve. Hichun aman adonbut in, “Aphai, naseibangun bol hite,” ati.
3 And the one says, “Please be willing, and go with your servants”; and he says, “I go.”
Amaho lah’a khat in atem’un, “Neihung kilhonpiuvin,” ati. Aman jong, “Hung nange,” atin ahi.
4 And he goes with them, and they come to the Jordan, and cut down the trees,
Hichun Elisha jong amaho chutoh akilhon tauvin ahi. Jordan aga lhun phat’un, amahon thing akitan tauvin ahi.
5 and it comes to pass, the one is felling the beam, and the iron [ax head] has fallen into the water, and he cries and says, “Aah! My lord, for it was borrowed!”
Ahin amaholah’a khat chun thing akitan pet’un aheichang chu vadunga alhahsah tan ahi. Ama jong ahung apeng jah jengin, “Vo hepu, hiche heicha chu mi’a bat ding’a kahin lah ahi,” ati.
6 And the man of God says, “To where has it fallen?” And he shows him the place, and he cuts a stick, and casts [it] there, and causes the iron to swim,
Pathen mipan ahin seijin, “Hoilai donna nalhah ham?” ati. Aman jong amun avetsah phat chun Elisha’n molkhat alan amun laitah’a chu agakholut’a ahileh heichang chu twichungah ahung kiletdohtan ahi.
7 and says, “Raise [it] up for yourself”; and he puts forth his hand and takes it.
Hichun Elisha’n, “Kilah in,” ati, hichun mipan agahsangin akimat tan ahi.
8 And the king of Aram has been fighting against Israel, and takes counsel with his servants, saying, “At such and such a place [is] my encamping.”
Syria lengpa chu Israelte toh akisatto laitah chun, aman asepai lamkaite toh akihoutoh un hitin asei uve, “Eihon isepaiteu chu hilai mun khat’a ngahmun kisem ute akitiuve.”
9 And the man of God sends to the king of Israel, saying, “Take heed of passing by this place, for the Arameans are coming down there”;
Ahinlah apettah chun Pathen mipa Elisha’n gangtah in Israel lengpa ana gah hilchah in, “Hichelai munna chun che hih un ajeh chu Syria ten asepaiteu chu hilai munna chu changpang a ana umdiu ahi,” atipeh tan ahi.
10 and the king of Israel sends to the place of which the man of God spoke to him, and warned him, and he is preserved there not [just] once and not [just] twice.
Hiti chun Israel lengpan Pathen mipan aseipehna mun mun’a chun asepaite asolji ahi. Kiging jing’a aum jing thei nading un, phatseh in Elisha’n Israel lengpa chu aseipeh jingin chule ana hilchah jing in ahi.
11 And the heart of the king of Aram is tossed about concerning this thing, and he calls to his servants and says to them, “Do you not declare to me who of us [is] for the king of Israel?”
Syria lenpa chu hiche chungchang’a hin, alung ahang lheh jengtan, hijehchun aman anoija lamkai pipu hochu akoukhom’in hiti hin aseitan, “Koipen hi galmi langa pang naum uham? Koipen hin Israel lengpa hi kei tohgon ana seipeh jiuham?” ati.
12 And one of his servants says, “No, my lord, O king, for Elisha the prophet, who [is] in Israel, declares to the king of Israel the words that you speak in the inner part of your bed-chamber.”
Hichun anoija lamkai pipuho khat’in ahin donbut’in, “Hepu lengpa keiho kahipouve, Israel te lah’a hin Elisha kiti themgao khat aumin, amahin lengpahi ijakai aseipehji ahi. Amahin nachanga najal khunna naumpetna na thusei jouse jong hi ahet ahi,” atipeh tan ahi.
13 And he says, “Go and see where he [is], and I send and take him”; and it is declared to him, saying, “Behold—in Dothan.”
Hichun lengpan thu ahin pen, “Cheuvinlang amachu hoiya um’aham, gahe chen’unlang keiman ama manding chu kasepaite kasolding ahi,” ati. Hiti chun amahon jong agahetoh un, “Amahi Dothan na aume,” tin ahung seipeh tauvin ahi.
14 And he sends horses and chariot, and a heavy force there, and they come in by night, and go around against the city.
Hichun Syria lengpan hiche khopi sung umding’in sepai tamtah leh sakol kangtalai tamtah asoltan ahi.
15 And the servant of the man of God rises early, and goes out, and behold, a force is surrounding the city, and horse and chariot, and his young man says to him, “Aah! My lord, how do we do?”
Pathen mipa sohpa chu jingpitah in ahung thouvin, pam lang agapotdoh leh sepai tamtah leh sakol kangtalai tamtah muntin’ah amutan ahileh, Elisha kom’a chun, “O hepu i-itiding hitam?” tin apeng jah jingin ahi.
16 And he says, “Do not fear, for more [are] they who [are] with us than they who [are] with them.”
Elisha’n ama kom’ah, “Kicha hihin, amaho sangin eini panpiho atamjouve,” ati.
17 And Elisha prays and says, “YHWH, please open his eyes, and he sees”; and YHWH opens the eyes of the young man, and he sees, and behold, the hill is full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha.
Hijou chun Elisha jong atauvin, “O Pakai, amit hin hadohsah in lang, hin muchetsah tan,” tin atauvin ahileh, Pakaiyin gollhangpa mitchu ahadohsahtan ahileh Elisha vella molpang hochu sakolte le akangtalai ho meikongin atom anadimset in ahi.
18 And they come down to it, and Elisha prays to YHWH and says, “Please strike this nation with blindness”; and He strikes them with blindness, according to the word of Elisha.
Syria sepaite chu Elisha manding’a ahungsuh phat uchun, Elisha atauvin, “O Pakai amaho hi amit’u suhchot pehtan,” atin ahileh Elisha’n angeh bang bangin Pakaiyin amit’u asuhchot pehtan ahi.
19 And Elisha says to them, “This [is] not the way, nor [is] this the city; come after me, and I lead you to the man whom you seek”; and he leads them to Samaria.
Hichun Elisha apotdoh in amaho kom’a chun, “Nahung naohi adihtapoi hichehi nahollu khopi chu ahipoi, neihinjui jun, keiman nahol nao kom’a chun napuilut nao vinge” ati. Hiti chun amaho chu Samaria khopia chun apuilut tan ahi.
20 And it comes to pass, at their coming to Samaria, that Elisha says, “YHWH, open the eyes of these, and they see”; and YHWH opens their eyes, and they see, and behold, [they are] in the midst of Samaria!
Samaria khopi chu alhunphat’un, Elisha atauvin, “O Pakai tun amit’u hasah kit’in lang kho musah tan,” ati. Hiti chun Pakaiyin amit’u ahasah in ahileh amaho Samaria khopi alailunga um ahiu akimudoh tauvin ahi.
21 And the king of Israel says to Elisha at his seeing them, “My father, do I strike, do I strike?”
Israel lengpan amaho chu amudoh phat’in Elisha kom’a chun ahin samjah jingin, “Hepa hiche hohi katha gamding hitam? Kathagam ding hitam?” ahintin ahi.
22 And he says, “You do not strike; are you striking those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? Set bread and water before them, and they eat, and drink, and go to their lord.”
Elisha’n ahin donbut’in, “Nathathei louding ahi! Gal-hing’a kiman hohi kithatji ngai em? Anehdiu le adondiu joh pen lang apu kom langa le sultan,” ati.
23 And he prepares great provision for them, and they eat and drink, and he sends them away, and they go to their lord: and troops of Aram have not added to come into the land of Israel anymore.
Hiti chun lengpan ankong thupitah ahin sem’in, anehsah in, apupau kom langa ale soltan ahi. Hichejou chun Syria galmite Israel gam ahin nokhum tapouvin ahi.
24 And it comes to pass afterward, that Ben-Hadad king of Aram gathers all his camp, and goes up, and lays siege to Samaria,
Ahin phat chomkhat set jouhin Syria lengpa Benhadad in agalmite jouse atit khom’in Samaria khopi ahin umkhum tauvin ahi.
25 and there is a great famine in Samaria, and behold, they are laying siege to it, until the head of a donkey is at eighty pieces of silver, and a forth of the cab of dove’s dung at five pieces of silver.
Hijeh chun khopi sunga chun kel lhahna nasatah aumtan ahi. Khopi aumkhum nao chu asot lheh jingtan ahileh sangan luchang khatchu dangka somget in akijoh in, gam louthul til jing jong atena khat hoplia hopkhatna chun dangka nga in akijoh tan ahi.
26 And it comes to pass, the king of Israel is passing by on the wall, and a woman has cried to him, saying, “Save, my lord, O king.”
Nikhat hi Israel lengpa chu khopi pal chunga chun avah lelen ahileh numeikhat in ahin kouvin, “Kapu lengpa neihuh in,” ahin tin ahi.
27 And he says, “YHWH does not save you—from where do I save you? Out of the threshing-floor or out of the wine-vat?”
Chuin aman adonbut in, “Pakaiyin nakithopi louleh keiman ipi kabolpeh thei ding ham? Keiman changvohna pholla konin changla kanei tapon, lengpi twijong aheh lhahna a konin kanei tapon hoiya ipi kalah’a nang kapehding ham?” ati.
28 And the king says to her, “What is [troubling] you?” And she says, “This woman said to me, Give your son, and we eat him today, and we eat my son tomorrow;
Ahin lengpan adongin “Ipi ham nahahsatna,” tin adongin ahileh amanun adonbut, “Hiche numeinu hin kakom’ah ahungin tunin nang chapa chu nehitin jingleh keichapa nena hite atin,” ahi.
29 and we boil my son and eat him, and I say to her on the next day, Give your son, and we eat him; and she hides her son.”
Hijeh chun keichapa kakihon lhonin kane lhontai, ajingin ama chapa kitha hitin neta hite katileh, aman akisel mangtai,” ati.
30 And it comes to pass, at the king’s hearing the words of the woman, that he tears his garments, and he is passing by on the wall, and the people see, and behold, the sackcloth [is] within on his flesh.
Hichun Lengpan hiche thuhi ajah doh phat’in lunghangtah in apon abottel jingin ahi. Hitia chu lengpa palchunga ava lena a chun mipi hon khaodip pon akisil chu amuvin ahi.
31 And he says, “Thus God does to me and thus He adds, if the head of Elisha son of Shaphat remains on him this day.”
Lengpa apengjah jingin, “Tuni tah ahi Elisha luchang katan louleh Pathen’in keima eithat jinghen” tin akihahsel jah jengtan ahi.
32 And Elisha is sitting in his house, and the elderly are sitting with him, and [the king] sends a man from before him; before the messenger comes to him, even he himself said to the elderly, “Have you seen that this son of the murderer has sent [him] to turn aside my head? See, at the coming in of the messenger, shut the door, and you have held him fast at the door, is not the sound of the feet of his lord behind him?”
Hitia chu lengpan akoudia mi asol chun, Elisha chu Israel upa hotoh ainsungah ana toukhom’un, akoupa chu ahunglhun masang in Elisha’n upahojah achun, “Hiche tolthat pakhun keilol tang dingin mikhat ahin sollin ahi. Ama ahunglhun tengleh kot kamkhum mun hin lutsah hih un, ama nunga apupan ahin juipai ding ahi,” ati.
33 He is yet speaking with them, and behold, the messenger is coming down to him, and he says, “Behold, this [is] the calamity from YHWH; why do I wait for YHWH anymore?”
Elisha’n hitia thu asei jinglai sung chun thupole pachu ahung lhung paitan, chule lengpa chun aseipaijin, “Hiche lungkhamna hojouse hi Pakaija kon ahi, chuti ahileh kon Pakai chu iti kanga jing nahlai ding ham?” ati.
