2 Corinthians 1
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, and Timotheus the brother, to the Assembly of God that is in Corinth, with all the holy ones who are in all Achaia:
Paulo, apóstolo de Jesus Cristo de acordo com a vontade de Deus, e Timóteo, nosso irmão, escrevemos esta carta. Ela é enviada para a igreja de Deus em Corinto e para todo o povo de Deus que se encontra na província da Acaia.
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Que a graça e a paz de Deus, nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo estejam com vocês.
3 Blessed [is] God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and God of all comfort,
Louvado seja Deus, o Pai do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo! Ele é o Pai bondoso e o Deus que nos dá todo conforto.
4 who is comforting us in all our tribulation, for our being able to comfort those in any tribulation through the comfort with which we are comforted ourselves by God;
Ele nos ajuda em todos os nossos problemas, para que possamos confortar aqueles que também passam por dificuldades. E para ajudar os outros, damos o que recebemos de Deus.
5 because, as the sufferings of the Christ abound to us, so through the Christ our comfort also abounds;
Pois quanto mais participamos nos sofrimentos de Cristo, mais nós também somos consolados por ele.
6 and whether we be in tribulation, [it is] for your comfort and salvation, that is worked in the enduring of the same sufferings that we also suffer; whether we are comforted, [it is] for your comfort and salvation;
Se passamos por sofrimentos, é para que vocês tenham ajuda e salvação. Se somos ajudados, é para que vocês também sejam e para que tenham paciência para suportar os mesmos sofrimentos pelos quais passamos.
7 and our hope [is] steadfast for you, knowing that even as you are partakers of the sufferings—so also of the comfort.
Nós temos muita confiança em vocês, pois sabemos que da mesma forma que vocês compartilham os nossos sofrimentos também compartilham a ajuda que recebemos.
8 For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brothers, of our tribulation that happened to us in Asia, that we were exceedingly burdened above [our] power, so that we even despaired of life;
Irmãos e irmãs, nós não escondemos de vocês o problema que tivemos na Ásia. Nós nos sentimos tão oprimidos, que tivemos medo de não ter mais forças para continuar. O nosso receio foi tão grande que chegamos a duvidar que sairíamos vivos de lá.
9 but we ourselves have had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we may not be trusting on ourselves, but on God, who is raising the dead,
Na verdade, foi para nós como uma sentença de morte. Isso aconteceu para que parássemos de confiar em nós mesmos e tivéssemos fé em Deus, que ressuscita os mortos.
10 who delivered us out of so great a death, and delivers, in whom we have hoped that even yet He will deliver;
Ele nos salvou de uma morte terrível e, certamente, fará isso de novo. Nós confiamos plenamente que Deus continuará a nos salvar.
11 you also working together for us by your supplication, that the gift through many persons to us, through many, may be thankfully acknowledged for us.
A ajuda de vocês para nós vem pelas suas orações. Dessa forma, muitos irão agradecer a Deus por nós, por causa da bênção que Deus nos dará em resposta às orações de muitos irmãos.
12 For our glorying is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you;
É um grande orgulho, e a nossa consciência confirma isso, saber que agimos de forma justa e adequada com as pessoas e, especialmente, com vocês. Nós seguimos os princípios de santidade e sinceridade que Deus nos dá, não de acordo com a sabedoria humana, mas, sim, por meio da graça de Deus.
13 for no other things do we write to you, but what you either read or also acknowledge, and I hope that you will also acknowledge to the end,
Pois nós não estamos escrevendo nada complicado que vocês não consigam ler e entender. Eu espero que vocês entendam no final,
14 according as you also acknowledged us in part, that we are your glory, even as also you [are] ours, in the Day of the Lord Jesus;
mesmo que vocês entendam apenas parte disso agora. Assim, quando o Senhor vier, vocês terão orgulho de nós, justamente como temos de vocês.
15 and in this confidence I was intending to come to you before, that you might have a second favor,
Por eu estar tão certo da confiança de vocês em mim, planejei ir visitá-los primeiro. Desse modo, vocês seriam duplamente beneficiados.
16 and to pass to Macedonia through you, and to come to you again from Macedonia, and to be sent forward by you to Judea.
Pois eu os visitaria quando fosse para a Macedônia e, na volta da Macedônia, também estaria com vocês. Então, vocês poderiam me ajudar na minha viagem para a Judeia.
17 This, therefore, intending, did I then use the lightness; or the things that I counsel, [did] I counsel according to the flesh, that it may be with me Yes, yes, and No, no?
Por que eu mudei o meu plano original? Vocês acham que eu tomo as minhas decisões de forma irresponsável? Vocês acham que quando eu planejo, faço como algumas pessoas deste mundo, que dizem Sim e Não ao mesmo tempo?
18 And God [is] faithful, that our word to you did not become Yes and No,
Exatamente como se pode confiar em Deus, quando nós, apóstolos, damos a nossa palavra para vocês, não fazemos isso dizendo Sim e Não ao mesmo tempo.
19 for the Son of God, Jesus Christ, having been preached through us among you—through me and Silvanus and Timotheus—did not become Yes and No, but in Him it has become Yes;
Fomos nós, Silvano, Timóteo e eu, que anunciamos a verdade a respeito do Filho de Deus, Jesus Cristo, para vocês. E o Filho de Deus não foi Sim e Não. Em Cristo, a resposta é absolutamente Sim!
20 for as many as [are] promises of God, in Him [are] the Yes, and in Him the Amen, for glory to God through us;
E, em Cristo, a resposta para as muitas promessas que Deus faz é sempre Sim. Por meio dele, nós respondemos, dizendo Sim, para a glória de Deus.
21 and He who is confirming you with us into Christ, and anointed us, [is] God,
Deus dá tanto a nós quanto a vocês a força que precisamos para permanecermos firmes em Cristo. Deus nos escolheu,
22 who also sealed us, and gave the deposit of the Spirit in our hearts.
colocou o seu selo de aprovação em nós e nos deu o Espírito como garantia das coisas que ele reserva para nós.
23 And I call on God for a witness on my soul, that sparing you, I did not come to Corinth yet;
Deus é minha testemunha de que preferi não ir a Corinto, para não prejudicá-los.
24 not that we are lords over your faith, but we are workers together with your joy, for by faith you stand.
Não é por querermos determinar como vocês devem se relacionar com Deus, mas por querermos ajudá-los a ter uma experiência ainda mais feliz, pois é pela sua fé em Deus que vocês permanecem firmes.
