2 Corinthians 7
1 Having, then, these promises, beloved, may we cleanse ourselves from every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting sanctification in the fear of God;
Así pues, queridos hermanos, teniendo tales promesas, limpiémonos de todo lo que pueda mancharnos tanto en él cuerpo como en el espíritu perfeccionando la santidad en el temor de Dios.
2 receive us; no one did we wrong; no one did we ruin; no one did we defraud;
Háganos un lugar en sus corazones: no hemos hecho mal a nadie, nadie ha sido dañado por nosotros, no hemos engañado a nadie,
3 I do not say [it] to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts to die together and to live together;
No es con el propósito de juzgarlos; lo que digo esto: He dicho antes que están en nuestros corazones para vivir juntos y para morir juntos.
4 great [is] my freedom of speech to you, great my glory on your behalf; I have been filled with the comfort, I hyper-abound with the joy on all our tribulation,
Confío plenamente en ustedes, estoy muy orgulloso de ustedes: tengo gran consuelo y alegría en todas mis tribulaciones.
5 for we also, having come to Macedonia, our flesh has had no relaxation, but on every side we are in tribulation: fightings outside, fears within;
Porque aun cuando habíamos venido a Macedonia, nuestro cuerpo no tenía reposo, sino que estábamos atribulados por todos lados; hubo peleas afuera y temores dentro.
6 but He who is comforting the cast-down—God—He comforted us in the coming of Titus;
Pero Dios, que conforta a los pobres en espíritu, nos dio consuelo con la venida de Tito;
7 and not only in his coming, but also in the comfort with which he was comforted over you, declaring to us your longing desire, your lamentation, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced the more,
Y no solo por su venida, sino por la consolación con que él había sido consolado por ustedes y, mientras él nos dio el mensaje de lo mucho que ustedes desean vernos, de su tristeza y preocupación por mí; así que aún más me alegré.
8 because even if I made you sorry in the letter, I do not regret—if even I regretted—for I perceive that the letter, even if for an hour, made you sorry.
Aunque mi carta les causó dolor, no me arrepiento de ello ahora, aunque lo había hecho antes; porque veo que la carta te dio dolor, pero solo por un tiempo.
9 I now rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that you were made sorry to conversion, for you were made sorry toward God, that you might receive damage from us in nothing;
Ahora me alegro, no por la tristeza, que les causó sino porque su tristeza fue la causa de un cambio de corazón; los hizo volverse a Dios. Porque para ustedes fue un dolor Santo para que no sufran ninguna pérdida por nosotros en nada.
10 for sorrow toward God works conversion to salvation without regret, and the sorrow of the world works death,
Porque el dolor que Dios da es la causa de la salvación por un cambio de corazón, en el cual no hay razón para el dolor; pero la tristeza del mundo es causa de muerte.
11 for behold, this same thing—your being made sorry toward God—how much diligence it works in you! But defense, but displeasure, but fear, but longing desire, but zeal, but revenge; in everything you approved yourselves to be pure in the matter.
Ustedes soportaron la tristeza como a Dios le agrada. Y miren ahora los resultados! Les hizo tomar en serio el asunto y defenderme; les hizo enojar, y también sentir miedo. Después tuvieron deseos de verme, y se dispusieron a castigar al culpable. Con todo lo cual han demostrado ustedes que no tuvieron nada que ver con él asunto.
12 If, then, I also wrote to you—not for his cause who did wrong, nor for his cause who suffered wrong, but for our diligence in your behalf being revealed to you before God—
Así que, aunque te envié aquella carta, no fue solo por el hombre que hizo el mal, o por causa de aquel a quien se hizo el mal, sino para que su verdadero cuidado por nosotros pueda ser claro a los ojos de Dios.
13 because of this we have been comforted in your comfort, and more abundantly the more we rejoiced in the joy of Titus, that his spirit has been refreshed from you all;
Así que hemos sido consolados, y tuvimos un mayor gozo en nuestro consuelo por la alegría de Tito, porque todos ustedes le han dado nuevos ánimos.
14 because if I have boasted anything to him in your behalf, I was not put to shame; but as we spoke to you all things in truth, so also our boasting before Titus became truth,
Porque no me avergüenzo de nada en que le haya aclarado mi orgullo por ustedes; al contrario, así como es verdad todo lo que les hemos dicho a ustedes, también es verdad lo que dijimos a Tito: que estamos orgullosos de ustedes.
15 and his yearnings are more abundantly toward you, remembering the obedience of you all, how you received him with fear and trembling;
Y su amor hacia Ustedes aumenta cuanto más les recuerda a todos ustedes, la obediencia de todos ustedes y como lo recibieron con temor y temblor.
16 I rejoice, therefore, that in everything I have courage in you.
Me da mucha alegría de poder confiar plenamente en ustedes.
