2 Corinthians 7
1 Having, then, these promises, beloved, may we cleanse ourselves from every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting sanctification in the fear of God;
Taková tedy majíce zaslíbení, nejmilejší, očišťujmež se od všeliké poškvrny těla i ducha, konajíce posvěcení v bázni Boží.
2 receive us; no one did we wrong; no one did we ruin; no one did we defraud;
Přijmětež nás. Žádnémuť jsme neublížili, žádnému neuškodili, žádného neoklamali.
3 I do not say [it] to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts to die together and to live together;
Nepravím toho ku potupě, poněvadž jsem napřed pověděl, že jste v srdcích našich, abychom spolu mřeli, i spolu živi byli.
4 great [is] my freedom of speech to you, great my glory on your behalf; I have been filled with the comfort, I hyper-abound with the joy on all our tribulation,
Mnohéť jsem k vám v mluvení důvěrnosti, mnohoť se vámi chlubím; naplněn jsem potěšením, rozhojňujiť se v radosti ve všelikém ssoužení našem.
5 for we also, having come to Macedonia, our flesh has had no relaxation, but on every side we are in tribulation: fightings outside, fears within;
Nebo i když jsme byli přišli do Macedonie, žádného odpočinutí nemělo tělo naše, ale ve všem ssouženi jsme byli; zevnitř boje, vnitř strachy.
6 but He who is comforting the cast-down—God—He comforted us in the coming of Titus;
Ale ten, kterýž těší ponížené, potěšil nás, Bůh, skrze příchod Titův.
7 and not only in his coming, but also in the comfort with which he was comforted over you, declaring to us your longing desire, your lamentation, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced the more,
A netoliko příchodem jeho, ale také i potěšením tím, kteréž on měl z vás, vypravovav nám o vaší veliké žádosti, o vašem kvílení, a vaší ke mně horlivé milosti, tak že jsem se velmi zradoval.
8 because even if I made you sorry in the letter, I do not regret—if even I regretted—for I perceive that the letter, even if for an hour, made you sorry.
A ačkoli zarmoutil jsem vás listem, nelituji toho, ač jsem byl litoval. Nebo vidím, že ten list, ačkoli na čas, zarmoutil vás.
9 I now rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that you were made sorry to conversion, for you were made sorry toward God, that you might receive damage from us in nothing;
Nyní raduji se, ne že jste zarmouceni byli, ale že jste se ku pokání zarmoutili. Zarmoutili jste se zajisté podlé Boha, tak že jste k žádné škodě nepřišli skrze nás.
10 for sorrow toward God works conversion to salvation without regret, and the sorrow of the world works death,
Nebo zámutek, kterýž jest podlé Boha, ten pokání k spasení působí, jehož nikdy líto nebývá, ale zámutek světa smrt způsobuje.
11 for behold, this same thing—your being made sorry toward God—how much diligence it works in you! But defense, but displeasure, but fear, but longing desire, but zeal, but revenge; in everything you approved yourselves to be pure in the matter.
Ano hle, to samo, že jste podlé Boha zarmouceni byli, jakou v vás způsobilo snažnost, nýbrž omluvu, nýbrž zažhnutí hněvu, nýbrž bázeň, nýbrž žádost vroucí, nýbrž horlivost, anobrž pomstu? Všelijak prokázali jste to, že jste nevinni v té věci.
12 If, then, I also wrote to you—not for his cause who did wrong, nor for his cause who suffered wrong, but for our diligence in your behalf being revealed to you before God—
A ač psal jsem vám, však ne pro toho, kterýž tu nepravost spáchal, ani pro toho, komuž se křivda stala, ale aby vám zjevena byla pilnost naše o vás před oblíčejem Božím.
13 because of this we have been comforted in your comfort, and more abundantly the more we rejoiced in the joy of Titus, that his spirit has been refreshed from you all;
Protož potěšeniť jsme z potěšení vašeho. Ale mnohem hojněji zradovali jsme se z radosti Titovy, že poočerstven jest duch jeho ode všech vás,
14 because if I have boasted anything to him in your behalf, I was not put to shame; but as we spoke to you all things in truth, so also our boasting before Titus became truth,
A že chlubil-li jsem se v čem vámi před ním, nebyl jsem zahanben, ale jakož všecko mluvili jsme vám v pravdě, tak i chlouba naše, kteráž byla před Titem, pravá jest shledána.
15 and his yearnings are more abundantly toward you, remembering the obedience of you all, how you received him with fear and trembling;
Ano i srdce jeho k vám jest příchylnější, když rozpomíná se na poslušenství všech vás, kterak jste ho s bázní a s strachem přijali.
16 I rejoice, therefore, that in everything I have courage in you.
Protož raduji se, že ve všem mohu se vám dověřiti.
