2 Corinthians 5
1 For we have known that if the tent of our earthly house may be thrown down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands—perpetual—in the heavens, (aiōnios g166)
Biliyoruz ki, barındığımız bu dünyasal çadır yıkılırsa, göklerde Tanrı'nın bize sağladığı bir konut –elle yapılmamış, sonsuza dek kalacak bir evimiz– vardır. (aiōnios g166)
2 for also in this we groan, earnestly desiring to clothe ourselves with our dwelling that is from Heaven,
Şimdiyse göksel evimizi giyinmeyi özleyerek inliyoruz.
3 if so be that, having clothed ourselves, we will not be found naked,
Onu giyinirsek çıplak kalmayız.
4 for we also who are in the tent groan, being burdened, seeing we do not wish to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves, that the mortal may be swallowed up of life.
Dünyasal çadırda yaşayan bizler ağır bir yük altında inliyoruz. Asıl istediğimiz soyunmak değil, giyinmektir. Öyle ki, ölümlü olan, yaşam tarafından yutulsun.
5 And He who worked us to this very thing [is] God, who also gave to us the deposit of the Spirit;
Bizleri tam bu amaç için hazırlamış ve güvence olarak bize Ruh'u vermiş olan Tanrı'dır.
6 having courage, then, at all times, and knowing that being at home in the body, we are away from home from the LORD—
Bu nedenle her zaman cesaretimiz vardır. Şunu biliyoruz ki, bu bedende yaşadıkça Rab'den uzaktayız.
7 for we walk through faith, not through sight—
Gözle görülene değil, imana dayanarak yaşarız.
8 we have courage, and are well pleased, rather, to be away from the home of the body, and to be at home with the LORD.
Cesaretimiz vardır diyorum ve bedenden uzakta, Rab'bin yanında olmayı yeğleriz.
9 We are also ambitious for this reason, whether at home or away from home, to be well pleasing to Him,
Bunun için, ister bedende yaşayalım ister bedenden uzak olalım, amacımız Rab'bi hoşnut etmektir.
10 for it is necessary for all of us to have appeared before the judgment seat of the Christ, that each one may receive the things [done] through the body, in reference to the things that he did, whether good or evil;
Çünkü bedende yaşarken gerek iyi gerek kötü, yaptıklarımızın karşılığını almak için hepimiz Mesih'in yargı kürsüsü önüne çıkmak zorundayız.
11 having known, therefore, the fear of the LORD, we persuade men, and we are revealed to God, and I also hope to have been revealed in your consciences;
Rab'den korkmanın ne demek olduğunu bildiğimizden insanları ikna etmeye çalışıyoruz. Ne olduğumuzu Tanrı biliyor; umarım siz de vicdanınızda biliyorsunuz.
12 for we do not again recommend ourselves to you, but we are giving occasion to you of glorifying in our behalf, that you may have [something] in reference to those glorifying in face and not in heart;
Kendimizi yine size tavsiye etmeye çalışmıyoruz. Ama yürekle değil, dış görünüşle övünenleri yanıtlayabilmeniz için bizimle övünmenize fırsat veriyoruz.
13 for whether we were beside ourselves, [it was] to God; whether we be of sound mind, [it is] to you,
Eğer kendimizde değilsek, bu Tanrı içindir. Aklımız başımızdaysa, bu sizin içindir.
14 for the love of the Christ constrains us, having judged thus: that if one died for all, then the whole died,
Bizi zorlayan, Mesih'in sevgisidir. Yargımız şu: Biri herkes için öldü; öyleyse hepsi öldü.
15 and He died for all, that those living may no longer live to themselves, but to Him who died for them, and was raised again.
Evet, Mesih herkes için öldü. Öyle ki, yaşayanlar artık kendileri için değil, kendileri uğruna ölüp dirilen Mesih için yaşasınlar.
16 So that we, from now on, have known no one according to the flesh, and even if we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him [thus] no longer;
Bu nedenle, biz artık kimseyi insan ölçülerine göre tanımayız. Mesih'i bu ölçülere göre tanıdıksa da, artık öyle tanımıyoruz.
17 so that if anyone [is] in Christ—[he is] a new creature; the old things passed away, behold, all things have become new.
Bir kimse Mesih'teyse, yeni yaratıktır; eski şeyler geçmiş, her şey yeni olmuştur.
18 And all things [are] of God, who reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of the reconciliation,
Bunların hepsi Tanrı'dandır. Tanrı, Mesih aracılığıyla bizi kendisiyle barıştırdı ve bize barıştırma görevini verdi.
19 how that God was in Christ—reconciling the world to Himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses; and having put in us the word of the reconciliation,
Şöyle ki Tanrı, insanların suçlarını saymayarak dünyayı Mesih'te kendisiyle barıştırdı ve barıştırma sözünü bize emanet etti.
20 in behalf of Christ, then, we are ambassadors, as if God were calling through us, we implore, in behalf of Christ, “Be reconciled to God”;
Böylece, Tanrı aracılığımızla çağrıda bulunuyormuş gibi Mesih'in adına elçilik ediyor, O'nun adına yalvarıyoruz: Tanrı'yla barışın.
21 He made Him having not known sin [to be] sin in our behalf, that we may become the righteousness of God in Him.
Tanrı, günahı bilmeyen Mesih'i bizim için günah sunusu yaptı. Öyle ki, Mesih sayesinde Tanrı'nın doğruluğu olalım.
