2 Corinthians 5
1 For we have known that if the tent of our earthly house may be thrown down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands—perpetual—in the heavens, (aiōnios g166)
Kwa maana twajua kama hema yetu ya dunia tunayoishi ikiharibiwa, tunalo jengo kutoka kwa Mungu, nyumba iliyo ya milele kule mbinguni, isiyojengwa kwa mikono ya wanadamu. (aiōnios g166)
2 for also in this we groan, earnestly desiring to clothe ourselves with our dwelling that is from Heaven,
Katika hema hii twalia kwa uchungu, tukitamani kuvikwa makao yetu ya mbinguni,
3 if so be that, having clothed ourselves, we will not be found naked,
kwa kuwa tukiisha kuvikwa hatutaonekana tena kuwa uchi.
4 for we also who are in the tent groan, being burdened, seeing we do not wish to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves, that the mortal may be swallowed up of life.
Kwa kuwa tukiwa bado katika hema hii twalia kwa uchungu na kulemewa, kwa sababu hatutaki kuvuliwa bali kuvikwa makao yetu ya mbinguni ili kwamba kile kipatikanacho na mauti kimezwe na uzima.
5 And He who worked us to this very thing [is] God, who also gave to us the deposit of the Spirit;
Basi Mungu ndiye alitufanya kwa ajili ya jambo lilo hilo naye ametupa Roho Mtakatifu kuwa amana, akituhakikishia ahadi ya kile kijacho.
6 having courage, then, at all times, and knowing that being at home in the body, we are away from home from the LORD—
Kwa hiyo siku zote tunalo tumaini, hata ingawa tunajua kwamba wakati tukiwa katika mwili huu, tuko mbali na Bwana,
7 for we walk through faith, not through sight—
kwa maana twaenenda kwa imani wala si kwa kuona.
8 we have courage, and are well pleased, rather, to be away from the home of the body, and to be at home with the LORD.
Naam, tunalo tumaini na ingekuwa bora zaidi kuuacha mwili huu na kwenda kukaa na Bwana.
9 We are also ambitious for this reason, whether at home or away from home, to be well pleasing to Him,
Kwa hiyo, kama tuko katika mwili huu au tuko mbali nao, lengo letu ni kumpendeza Bwana.
10 for it is necessary for all of us to have appeared before the judgment seat of the Christ, that each one may receive the things [done] through the body, in reference to the things that he did, whether good or evil;
Kwa kuwa sisi sote tutasimama mbele ya kiti cha hukumu cha Kristo, ili kila mmoja apate kulipwa kwa ajili ya yale ambayo yametendwa katika mwili wake, yakiwa mema au mabaya.
11 having known, therefore, the fear of the LORD, we persuade men, and we are revealed to God, and I also hope to have been revealed in your consciences;
Basi, kwa kuwa tunajua kumcha Bwana, tunajitahidi kuwavuta wengine. Lakini Mungu anatufahamu dhahiri, nami natumaini kwamba tu dhahiri katika dhamiri zenu pia.
12 for we do not again recommend ourselves to you, but we are giving occasion to you of glorifying in our behalf, that you may have [something] in reference to those glorifying in face and not in heart;
Sio kwamba tunajaribu kujistahilisha kwenu tena, lakini tunataka kuwapa nafasi ili mwone fahari juu yetu mweze kuwajibu hao wanaoona fahari juu ya mambo yanayoonekana badala ya mambo yaliyo moyoni.
13 for whether we were beside ourselves, [it was] to God; whether we be of sound mind, [it is] to you,
Kama tumerukwa na akili, ni kwa ajili ya Mungu; kama tuna akili timamu, ni kwa ajili yenu.
14 for the love of the Christ constrains us, having judged thus: that if one died for all, then the whole died,
Kwa kuwa upendo wa Kristo unatutia nguvu, kwa sababu tunasadiki kuwa mmoja alikufa kwa ajili ya wote, kwa hiyo wote walikufa.
15 and He died for all, that those living may no longer live to themselves, but to Him who died for them, and was raised again.
Naye alikufa kwa ajili ya watu wote, ili kwamba wote wanaoishi wasiishi tena kwa ajili ya nafsi zao wenyewe, bali kwa ajili yake yeye aliyekufa na kufufuliwa tena kwa ajili yao.
16 So that we, from now on, have known no one according to the flesh, and even if we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him [thus] no longer;
Hivyo tangu sasa hatumwangalii mtu yeyote kwa mtazamo wa kibinadamu. Ingawa wakati fulani tulimwangalia Kristo kwa namna ya kibinadamu, hatumwangalii tena hivyo.
17 so that if anyone [is] in Christ—[he is] a new creature; the old things passed away, behold, all things have become new.
Kwa hiyo kama mtu akiwa ndani ya Kristo, amekuwa kiumbe kipya; ya kale yamepita, tazama, yamekuwa mapya.
18 And all things [are] of God, who reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of the reconciliation,
Haya yote yanatokana na Mungu, ambaye ametupatanisha sisi na nafsi yake kwa njia ya Yesu Kristo na kutupata sisi huduma ya upatanisho:
19 how that God was in Christ—reconciling the world to Himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses; and having put in us the word of the reconciliation,
Kwamba Mungu alikuwa ndani ya Kristo akiupatanisha ulimwengu na nafsi yake mwenyewe, akiwa hawahesabii watu dhambi zao. Naye ametukabidhi sisi ujumbe huu wa upatanisho.
20 in behalf of Christ, then, we are ambassadors, as if God were calling through us, we implore, in behalf of Christ, “Be reconciled to God”;
Kwa hiyo sisi ni mabalozi wa Kristo, kana kwamba Mungu anawasihi kupitia kwa vinywa vyetu. Nasi twawaomba sana ninyi kwa niaba ya Kristo, mpatanishwe na Mungu.
21 He made Him having not known sin [to be] sin in our behalf, that we may become the righteousness of God in Him.
Kwa maana Mungu alimfanya yeye asiyekuwa na dhambi kuwa dhambi kwa ajili yetu, ili sisi tupate kufanywa haki ya Mungu kwake yeye.
