2 Chronicles 8
1 And it comes to pass at the end of twenty years that Solomon has built the house of YHWH and his own house.
Al cabo de veinte años, cuando Salomón hubo acabado de edificar la Casa de Yahvé y su propia casa,
2 As for the cities that Huram has given to Solomon, Solomon has built them, and he causes the sons of Israel to dwell there.
reconstruyó las ciudades que Huram le había dado, y estableció allí a los hijos de Israel.
3 And Solomon goes to Hamath-Zobah, and lays hold on it;
Salomón marchó contra Hamat-Sobá, y se apoderó de ella;
4 and he builds Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the cities of store that he has built in Hamath.
edificó a Tadmor en el desierto, y todas las ciudades de abastecimientos que construyó en Hamat;
5 And he builds Beth-Horon the upper, and Beth-Horon the lower—cities of defense, with walls, double gates, and bar—
edificó a Bethorón la alta, y a Bethorón la baja, ciudades fortificadas, que tenían murallas, puertas y barras,
6 and Ba‘alath, and all the cities of store that Solomon had, and all the cities of the chariot, and the cities of the horsemen, and all the desire of Solomon that he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
y a Baalat, con todas las ciudades de abastecimientos que le pertenecían, y todas las ciudades de los carros y las ciudades de la caballería, y todo lo que le gustó edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano y en todo el país de su dominio.
7 All the people who are left of the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who are not of Israel—
A toda la gente que había quedado de los heteos, los amorreos, los fereceos, los heveos y los jebuseos, que no eran israelitas;
8 of their sons who have been left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel did not consume—Solomon lifts up a tribute to this day.
(es decir), a sus hijos, que después de ellos habían quedado en el país y a quienes los israelitas no habían exterminado, los destinó Salomón para prestación personal, hasta el día de hoy.
9 And Solomon has made none of the sons of Israel servants for his work, but they [are] men of war, and heads of his captains, and heads of his charioteers, and of his horsemen;
No empleó Salomón a ninguno de los hijos de Israel como esclavo para sus obras, sino que ellos eran hombres de guerra, jefes y oficiales, comandantes de sus carros y de su caballería.
10 and these [are] heads of the officers whom King Solomon has, two hundred and fifty who are rulers among the people.
Los jefes de las guarniciones que tenía Salomón eran doscientos cincuenta. Ellos gobernaban a la gente.
11 And Solomon has brought up the daughter of Pharaoh from the City of David to the house that he built for her, for he said, “My wife does not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, for they are holy to whom the Ark of YHWH has come.”
Salomón trasladó a la hija del Faraón de la ciudad de David a la casa que para ella había edificado; pues se decía: “No ha de habitar mi mujer en la casa de David, rey de Israel; porque sagrados son aquellos (lugares) adonde ha entrado el Arca de Yahvé.”
12 Then Solomon has caused burnt-offerings to ascend to YHWH on the altar of YHWH that he built before the porch,
Entonces ofreció Salomón holocaustos a Yahvé sobre el altar de Yahvé que había erigido delante del pórtico,
13 even by the matter of a day in its day, to cause to ascend according to the command of Moses, on Sabbaths, and on new moons, and on appointed times, three times in a year—in the Celebration of Unleavened Things, and in the Celebration of Weeks, and in the Celebration of Shelters.
ofreciendo lo que para cada día había prescrito Moisés, para los sábados, los novilunios y las fiestas, tres veces al año: en la fiesta de los Ázimos, en la fiesta de las Semanas y en la fiesta de los Tabernáculos.
14 And he establishes, according to the ordinance of his father David, the divisions of the priests over their service, and of the Levites over their charges, to praise and to minister before the priests, according to the matter of a day in its day, and the gatekeepers in their divisions at every gate, for so [is] the command of David the man of God.
Estableció también las clases de los sacerdotes en sus ministerios, conforme al reglamento de su padre David, y a los levitas en su cargo de cantar y servir bajo vigilancia de los sacerdotes, según el rito de cada día; y a los porteros con arreglo a sus clases, en cada puerta; porque así lo había mandado David, varón de Dios.
15 And they have not turned aside [from] the command of the king concerning the priests and the Levites, in reference to any matter, and to the treasures.
Y no se apartaron en nada del mandamiento del rey respecto a los sacerdotes y los levitas, ni tampoco en lo relativo a los tesoros.
16 And all the work of Solomon is prepared until the day of the foundation of the house of YHWH, and until its completion; the house of YHWH is perfect.
Toda la obra de Salomón se hallaba bien preparada, desde el día en que se echaron los cimientos de la Casa de Yahvé hasta su terminación. Así fue acabada la Casa de Yahvé.
17 Then Solomon has gone to Ezion-Geber, and to Elath, on the border of the sea, in the land of Edom;
Entonces Salomón fue a Esionguéber y a Elat, a orillas del Mar en el país de Edom,
18 and Huram sends to him, by the hand of his servants, ships and servants knowing the sea, and they go with servants of Solomon to Ophir, and take four hundred and fifty talents of gold from there, and bring it to King Solomon.
y Huram envió, por mano de sus siervos, navíos cuyos marineros eran conocedores del mar. Fueron estos con los siervos de Salomón a Ofir, de donde trajeron cuatrocientos cincuenta talentos de oro, que entregaron al rey Salomón.
