2 Chronicles 36
1 And the people of the land take Jehoahaz son of Josiah and cause him to reign instead of his father in Jerusalem.
Entonces el pueblo del país tomó a Joacaz, hijo de Josías, y le proclamaron rey en Jerusalén, en lugar de su padre.
2 Jehoahaz [is] a son of twenty-three years in his reigning, and he has reigned three months in Jerusalem,
Joacaz tenía veinte y tres años cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó tres meses en Jerusalén.
3 and the king of Egypt turns him aside in Jerusalem, and fines the land one hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold;
El rey de Egipto le destituyó en Jerusalén, e impuso al país una contribución de cien talentos de plata y un talento de oro.
4 and the king of Egypt causes his brother Eliakim to reign over Judah and Jerusalem, and turns his name to Jehoiakim; and Necho has taken his brother Jehoahaz and brings him to Egypt.
El rey de Egipto puso por rey sobre Judá y Jerusalén a Eliaquim, hermano de (Joacaz), cambiándole el nombre por el de Joakim. Y a Joacaz, su hermano, le tomó Necao y le llevó a Egipto.
5 Jehoiakim [is] a son of twenty-five years in his reigning, and he has reigned eleven years in Jerusalem, and he does evil in the eyes of his God YHWH;
Joakim tenía veinte y cinco años cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén. Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, su Dios.
6 Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has come up against him, and binds him in bronze chains to take him away to Babylon.
Subió Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, contra él, y le ató con cadenas de bronce para conducirle a Babilonia.
7 And Nebuchadnezzar has brought from the vessels of the house of YHWH to Babylon, and puts them in his temple in Babylon.
Nabucodonosor llevó a Babilonia también vasos de la Casa de Yahvé, que depositó en su templo en Babilonia.
8 And the rest of the matters of Jehoiakim, and his abominations that he has done, and that which is found against him, behold, they are written on the scroll of the kings of Israel and Judah, and his son Jehoiachin reigns in his stead.
Los demás hechos de Joakim, las abominaciones que hizo, y todo lo que le sucedió, he aquí que esto está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá. En su lugar reinó su hijo Joaquín.
9 Jehoiachin [is] a son of eight years in his reigning, and he has reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem, and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH;
Joaquín tenía ocho años cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó tres meses y diez días en Jerusalén, haciendo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé.
10 and at the turn of the year King Nebuchadnezzar has sent and brings him to Babylon with the desirable vessels of the house of YHWH, and causes his brother Zedekiah to reign over Judah and Jerusalem.
A la vuelta del año mandó el rey Nabucodonosor que le llevasen a Babilonia, juntamente con los objetos más preciosos de la Casa de Yahvé; y en su lugar puso a Sedecías, hermano de (Joaquín), por rey sobre Judá y Jerusalén.
11 Zedekiah [is] a son of twenty-one years in his reigning, and he has reigned eleven years in Jerusalem;
Sedecías tenía veinte y un años cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén.
12 and he does evil in the eyes of his God YHWH, he has not been humbled before Jeremiah the prophet [speaking] from the mouth of YHWH;
Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, su Dios, y no se humilló ante el profeta Jeremías que le hablaba de parte de Yahvé.
13 and he has also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar who had caused him to swear by God, and he hardens his neck and strengthens his heart against turning back to YHWH, God of Israel.
También se rebeló contra el rey Nabucodonosor, el cual le había hecho jurar por Dios; y endureció su cerviz e hizo obstinado su corazón, en vez de convertirse a Yahvé, el Dios de Israel.
14 Also, all the heads of the priests and the people have multiplied to commit a trespass according to all the abominations of the nations, and they defile the house of YHWH that He has sanctified in Jerusalem.
También todos los príncipes de los sacerdotes y el pueblo se portaron muy impíamente, imitando todas las abominaciones de los gentiles y contaminando la Casa de Yahvé, que Él había santificado en Jerusalén.
15 And YHWH, God of their fathers, sends to them by the hand of His messengers—rising early and sending—for He has had pity on His people and on His habitation,
Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres, les envió muy pronto reiteradas amonestaciones por medio de sus mensajeros, porque tenía compasión de su pueblo y de su morada.
16 but they are mocking at the messengers of God, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, until the going up of the fury of YHWH against His people—until there is no healing.
Pero ellos burlándose de los mensajeros de Dios, despreciaron sus palabras y se mofaron de sus profetas, hasta que subió la ira de Yahvé contra su pueblo a tal punto que no hubo más remedio.
17 And He causes the king of the Chaldeans to go up against them, and he slays their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and has had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged—He has given the whole into his hand.
Por lo cual trajo (Dios) contra ellos al rey de los caldeos, que mató a espada a sus jóvenes en la Casa de su Santuario, sin perdonar a mancebo ni a doncella, a viejo ni a cabeza cana; a todos los entregó (Dios) en su mano.
18 And all the vessels of the house of God, the great and the small, and the treasures of the house of YHWH, and the treasures of the king and of his princes—he has brought the whole to Babylon.
Nabucodonosor lo llevó todo a Babilonia: todos los utensilios de la Casa de Dios, grandes y pequeños, los tesoros de la Casa de Yahvé, y los tesoros del rey y de sus príncipes.
19 And they burn the house of God, and break down the wall of Jerusalem, and they have burned all its palaces with fire, and all its desirable vessels—to destruction.
Incendiaron la Casa de Dios y derribaron las murallas de Jerusalén; pegaron fuego a todos sus palacios y destruyeron todo cuanto en ellos había de precioso.
20 And he removes those left of the sword to Babylon, and they are to him and to his sons for servants, until the reigning of the kingdom of Persia,
Y a los que escaparon de la espada, los llevaron cautivos a Babilonia, donde fueron esclavos de él y de sus hijos hasta la dominación del reino de los persas;
21 to fulfill the word of YHWH in the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land has enjoyed its Sabbaths; all the days of the desolation it kept Sabbath—to the fullness of seventy years.
para que se cumpliese la palabra de Yahvé pronunciada por boca de Jeremías; hasta que el país hubo gozado de sus sábados; pues descansó todos los días de su desolación, hasta que se cumplieron los setenta años.
22 And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of YHWH in the mouth of Jeremiah, YHWH has awoken the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causes an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,
El año primero de Ciro, rey de Persia, en cumplimiento de la palabra de Yahvé, pronunciada por boca de Jeremías, Yahvé movió el espíritu de Ciro, rey de Persia, el cual mandó publicar de viva voz, y también por escrito, en todo su reino, el siguiente edicto:
23 “Thus said Cyrus king of Persia: YHWH, God of the heavens, has given all kingdoms of the earth to me, and He has laid a charge on me to build a house for Him in Jerusalem which [is] in Judah; who is among you of all His people? His God YHWH [is] with him, and he goes up!”
Así dice Ciro, rey de Persia: “Yahvé, el Dios del cielo, me ha dado todos los reinos de la tierra; y me ha encargado de edificarle una casa en Jerusalén, que está en Judá. Todos los de entre vosotros que formen parte de su pueblo, sea Yahvé, su Dios, con ellos y suban (a Jerusalén).
