2 Chronicles 33
1 Manasseh is a son of twelve years in his reigning, and he has reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem;
মনঃশি 12 বছর বয়সে রাজা হলেন, এবং জেরুশালেমে তিনি পঞ্চান্ন বছর রাজত্ব করলেন।
2 and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, like the abominations of the nations that YHWH dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,
ইস্রায়েলীদের সামনে থেকে সদাপ্রভু যে জাতিদের দূর করে দিলেন, তাদের ঘৃণ্য প্রথা অনুসরণ করে তিনি সদাপ্রভুর দৃষ্টিতে যা যা মন্দ, তাই করলেন।
3 and he turns and builds the high places that his father Hezekiah has broken down, and raises altars for Ba‘alim, and makes Asherim, and bows himself to all the host of the heavens, and serves them.
তাঁর বাবা হিষ্কিয় প্রতিমাপূজার যে উঁচু স্থানগুলি ভূমিসাৎ করলেন, তিনি সেগুলিই আবার নতুন করে গড়ে তুলেছিলেন; এছাড়াও তিনি বায়াল-দেবতাদের উদ্দেশে বেদি গেঁথে তুলেছিলেন এবং আশেরার খুঁটিও তৈরি করেছিলেন। তিনি আকাশের রাশি রাশি তারার কাছে মাথা নত করতেন এবং সেগুলির পূজার্চনা করতেন।
4 And he has built altars in the house of YHWH of which YHWH had said, “My Name is in Jerusalem for all time.”
তিনি সদাপ্রভুর সেই মন্দিরে কয়েকটি বেদি তৈরি করলেন, যেটির বিষয়ে সদাপ্রভু বললেন, “আমার নাম জেরুশালেমে চিরকাল বজায় থাকবে।”
5 And he builds altars for all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of YHWH.
সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরের উভয় প্রাঙ্গণে তিনি আকাশের সব তারকাদলের জন্য কয়েকটি বেদি তৈরি করে দিলেন।
6 And he has caused his sons to pass over through fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, and observed clouds and used enchantments and witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and a wizard; he has multiplied to do evil in the eyes of YHWH, to provoke him to anger.
বিন-হিন্নোমের উপত্যকায় তিনি তাঁর সন্তানদের আগুনে উৎসর্গ করতেন, দৈববিচার ও ডাকিনীবিদ্যার চর্চা করতেন, শুভ-অশুভ চিহ্নের খোঁজ চালাতেন, এবং প্রেতমাধ্যম ও গুনিনদের সাথেও শলাপরামর্শ করতেন। সদাপ্রভুর দৃষ্টিতে প্রচুর অন্যায় করে তিনি তাঁর ক্রোধ জাগিয়ে তুলেছিলেন।
7 And he places the carved image of the idol that he made in the house of God, of which God said to David, and to his son Solomon, “In this house, and in Jerusalem that I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I put My Name for all time,
একটি মূর্তি তৈরি করে, তিনি সেটি নিয়ে গিয়ে ঈশ্বরের সেই মন্দিরে রেখেছিলেন, যেটির বিষয়ে ঈশ্বর দাউদ ও তাঁর ছেলে শলোমনকে বলে দিলেন, “এই মন্দিরে ও যে জেরুশালেমকে আমি ইস্রায়েলের সব বংশের মধ্যে থেকে আলাদা করে মনোনীত করেছি, সেখানেই আমি চিরকাল আমার নাম বজায় রাখব।
8 and I do not add to turn aside the foot of Israel from off the ground that I appointed to your fathers, only, if they watch to do all that I have commanded them—to all the Law, and the statutes, and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.”
শুধু যদি ইস্রায়েলীরা একটু সতর্ক হয়ে সেই নিয়ম, বিধান ও নির্দেশগুলি মেনে চলে, যেগুলি পালন করার আদেশ মোশির মাধ্যমে আমি তাদের দিয়েছিলাম, তবে আমি আর কখনোই সেই দেশের বাইরে ইস্রায়েলীদের পা বাড়াতে দেব না, যে দেশটি আমি তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের দিয়েছিলাম।”
9 And Manasseh causes Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, to do evil above the nations that YHWH destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.
কিন্তু মনঃশি এমনভাবে যিহূদাকে ও জেরুশালেমের লোকজনকে বিপথে পরিচালিত করলেন, যে তারা সেইসব জাতির চেয়েও বেশি অন্যায় করল, যে জাতিদের সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েলীদের সামনে ধ্বংস করে দিলেন।
10 And YHWH speaks to Manasseh and to his people, and they have not attended,
সদাপ্রভু মনঃশি ও তাঁর প্রজাদের সাথে কথা বলতেন, কিন্তু তারা সেকথায় মনোযোগ দিতেন না।
11 and YHWH brings in against them the heads of the host that the king of Asshur has, and they capture Manasseh among the thickets, and bind him with bronze chains, and cause him to go to Babylon.
তাই তাদের বিরুদ্ধে সদাপ্রভু আসিরিয়ার রাজার সেই সেনাপতিদের নিয়ে এলেন, যারা মনঃশিকে বন্দি করল, তাঁর নাকে বড়শি গেঁথে দিয়েছিল, ও ব্রোঞ্জের শিকলে বেঁধে তাঁকে ব্যাবিলনে নিয়ে গেল।
12 And when he is in distress he has appeased the face of his God YHWH, and is exceedingly humbled before the God of his fathers,
দুর্দশায় পড়ে তিনি তাঁর ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর কাছে অনুগ্রহ চেয়েছিলেন এবং তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বরের সামনে নিজেকে অত্যন্ত নত করলেন।
13 and prays to Him, and He accepts his plea, and hears his supplication, and brings him back to Jerusalem, to his kingdom, and Manasseh knows that He, YHWH, [is] God.
আর তিনি যখন তাঁর কাছে প্রার্থনা করলেন, তখন তাঁর মিনতি সদাপ্রভুর হৃদয় স্পর্শ করল ও তিনি তাঁর সনির্বন্ধ অনুরোধ শুনেছিলেন; তাই তিনি তাঁকে জেরুশালেমে ও তাঁর রাজ্যে ফিরিয়ে এনেছিলেন। তখন মনঃশি বুঝেছিলেন যে সদাপ্রভুই ঈশ্বর।
14 And after this he has built an outer wall for the City of David, on the west of Gihon, in the valley, and at the entering in at the Fish Gate, and it has gone around to the tower, and he makes it exceedingly high, and he puts heads of the force in all the cities of the bulwarks in Judah.
পরে একেবারে মৎস-দ্বারের প্রবেশদ্বার পর্যন্ত গিয়ে ও ওফল পাহাড় ঘিরে থাকা উপত্যকায় অবস্থিত গীহোন জলের উৎসের পশ্চিমদিকে, দাউদ-নগরের বাইরের দিকের প্রাচীরটি তিনি নতুন করে গড়ে দিলেন; তিনি আবার সেটি আরও উঁচু করে দিলেন। যিহূদার সব সুরক্ষিত নগরেও তিনি সামরিক সেনাপতি মোতায়েন করে দিলেন।
15 And he turns aside the gods of the stranger, and the idol, out of the house of YHWH, and all the altars that he had built on the mountain of the house of YHWH and in Jerusalem, and casts [them] to the outside of the city.
সদাপ্রভুর মন্দির থেকে তিনি বিজাতীয় দেবতাদের দূর করলেন এবং প্রতিমার মূর্তিগুলিও দূর করলেন, এছাড়াও মন্দির-পাহাড়ের উপর ও জেরুশালেমে তিনি যেসব বেদি তৈরি করলেন, সেগুলিও তিনি উপড়ে ফেলেছিলেন; এবং সেগুলি নগরের বাইরে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দিলেন।
16 And he builds the altar of YHWH, and sacrifices on it sacrifices of peace-offerings and thank-offering, and commands to Judah to serve YHWH, God of Israel;
পরে তিনি সদাপ্রভুর যজ্ঞবেদিটি স্বাভাবিক অবস্থায় ফিরিয়ে এনেছিলেন এবং সেটির উপরে মঙ্গলার্থক-নৈবেদ্য ও ধন্যবাদের বলি উৎসর্গ করলেন, ও যিহূদার লোকজনকেও বললেন, যেন তারা ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সেবা করে।
17 but still the people are sacrificing in high places, only—to their God YHWH.
প্রজারা অবশ্য তখনও পূজার্চনার উঁচু উঁচু স্থানগুলিতেই নৈবেদ্য উৎসর্গ করে যাচ্ছিল, তবে শুধুমাত্র তাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশেই তারা তা করছিল।
18 And the rest of the matters of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the matters of the seers, those speaking to him in the Name of YHWH, God of Israel, behold, they are [on the scroll of] the matters of the kings of Israel;
মনঃশির রাজত্বকালের অন্যান্য সব ঘটনা, এবং তাঁর ঈশ্বরের কাছে করা তাঁর প্রার্থনা ও ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর নামে তাঁর কাছে বলা দর্শকদের সব কথা ইস্রায়েলের রাজাদের ইতিহাস-গ্রন্থে লেখা আছে।
19 and his prayer, and his plea, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places in which he had built high places, and established the Asherim and the carved images before his being humbled, behold, they are written beside the matters of Hozai.
তাঁর প্রার্থনা ও তাঁর মিনতি কীভাবে ঈশ্বরের হৃদয় স্পর্শ করল, এছাড়াও তাঁর সব পাপ ও অবিশ্বস্ততা, এবং নিজেকে নত করার আগে যেখানে যেখানে তিনি পূজার্চনার উঁচু উঁচু স্থান তৈরি করলেন এবং আশেরার খুঁটি ও প্রতিমার মূর্তি খাড়া করলেন—সেসবই দর্শকদের পুস্তকে লেখা আছে।
20 And Manasseh lies with his fathers, and they bury him in his own house, and his son Amon reigns in his stead.
মনঃশি তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সাথে চিরনিদ্রায় শায়িত হলেন এবং তাঁকে তাঁর প্রাসাদেই কবর দেওয়া হল। তাঁর ছেলে আমোন রাজারূপে তাঁর স্থলাভিষিক্ত হলেন।
21 Amon [is] a son of twenty-two years in his reigning, and he has reigned two years in Jerusalem,
আমোন বাইশ বছর বয়সে রাজা হলেন, এবং জেরুশালেমে তিনি দুই বছর রাজত্ব করলেন।
22 and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, as his father Manasseh did, and Amon has sacrificed to all the carved images that his father Manasseh had made, and serves them,
তাঁর বাবা মনঃশির মতো তিনিও সদাপ্রভুর দৃষ্টিতে যা যা মন্দ, তাই করলেন। আমোন, মনঃশির তৈরি করা সব প্রতিমার পুজো করতেন ও সেগুলির কাছে নৈবেদ্যও উৎসর্গ করতেন।
23 and has not been humbled before YHWH, like the humbling of his father Manasseh, for Amon himself has multiplied guilt.
কিন্তু তাঁর বাবা মনঃশি যেভাবে নিজেকে সদাপ্রভুর কাছে নত করলেন, তিনি কিন্তু তা করেননি; আমোন তাঁর অপরাধ বাড়িয়েই গেলেন।
24 And his servants conspire against him and put him to death in his own house,
আমোনের কর্মকর্তারা তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করে তাঁর রাজপ্রাসাদেই তাঁকে হত্যা করল।
25 and the people of the land strike all those conspiring against King Amon, and the people of the land cause his son Josiah to reign in his stead.
তখন দেশের প্রজারা সেইসব লোককে হত্যা করল, যারা রাজা আমোনের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্রে লিপ্ত হল, এবং তারা তাঁর স্থানে তাঁর ছেলে যোশিয়কে রাজা করল।
