2 Chronicles 27
1 Jotham [is] a son of twenty-five years in his reigning, and he has reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Jerushah daughter of Zadok.
UJothamu wayeleminyaka engamatshumi amabili lanhlanu ubudala eqalisa ukubusa, njalo wabusa eJerusalema okweminyaka elitshumi lesithupha. Ibizo likanina lalinguJerusha indodakazi kaZadokhi.
2 And he does that which is right in the eyes of YHWH, according to all that his father Uzziah did; only, he has not come into the temple of YHWH; and again the people are doing corruptly.
Wenza okulungileyo phambi kukaThixo njengalokhu okwenziwa nguyise u-Uziya kodwa yena kasangenanga ethempelini likaThixo njengoyise. Lanxa kunjalo, abantu baqhubeka besenza okubi.
3 He has built the Upper Gate of the house of YHWH, and in the wall of Ophel he has built abundantly;
UJothamu wakha wavuselela iSango langaPhezulu lethempeli likaThixo wenza njalo umsebenzi omkhulu emdulini ngapha ngaseqaqeni lwe-Ofeli.
4 and he has built cities in the hill-country of Judah, and he has built palaces and towers in the forests.
Wakha amadolobho emaqaqeni aseJuda lemiphotshongo ezindaweni ezenileyo.
5 And he has fought with the king of the sons of Ammon, and prevails over them, and the sons of Ammon give to him in that year one hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand cors of wheat, and ten thousand of barley; the sons of Ammon have returned this to him both in the second year and in the third.
UJothamu wahlasela inkosi yama-Amoni wawanqoba. Ngalowomnyaka ama-Amoni athela kuye ngamathalenta esiliva alikhulu, lezilinganiso zezilimo zengqoloyi ezizinkulungwane ezilitshumi lezinkulungwane ezilitshumi zebhali. Ama-Amoni amlethela inani elifananayo ngomnyaka wesibili langomnyaka wesithathu.
6 And Jotham strengthens himself, for he has prepared his ways before his God YHWH.
UJothamu waba lamandla amakhulu ngoba waqina kuThixo uNkulunkulu wakhe.
7 And the rest of the matters of Jotham, and all his battles, and his ways, behold, they are written on the scroll of the kings of Israel and Judah.
Ezinye izehlakalo embusweni kaJothamu, kanye lezimpi azilwayo lokunye ayekwenza, kulotshiwe egwalweni lwembali yamakhosi ako-Israyeli lakoJuda.
8 He was a son of twenty-five years in his reigning, and he has reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem;
Waba yinkosi eleminyaka engamatshumi amabili lanhlanu, njalo wabusa okweminyaka elitshumi lesithupha eJerusalema.
9 and Jotham lies with his fathers, and they bury him in the City of David, and his son Ahaz reigns in his stead.
UJothamu waphumula labokhokho bakhe, wangcwatshwa eMzini kaDavida. U-Ahazi indodana yakhe wathatha isikhundla waba yinkosi.
