2 Chronicles 19
1 And Jehoshaphat king of Judah turns back to his house in peace, to Jerusalem,
E Josaphat, rei de Judá, voltou à sua casa em paz a Jerusalém.
2 and Jehu son of Hanani the seer goes out to his presence and says to King Jehoshaphat, “Do you love to give help to the wicked and to those hating YHWH? And for this, wrath [is] against you from before YHWH,
E Jehu, filho d'Hanani, o vidente, lhe saiu ao encontro, e disse ao rei Josaphat: Devias tu ajudar ao ímpio, e amar aqueles que ao Senhor aborrecem? por isso virá sobre ti grande ira de diante do Senhor.
3 but good things have been found with you, for you have put away the Asheroth out of the land, and have prepared your heart to seek God.”
Boas coisas contudo se acharam em ti; porque tiraste os bosques da terra, e preparaste o teu coração, para buscar a Deus.
4 And Jehoshaphat dwells in Jerusalem, and he turns back and goes out among the people from Beer-Sheba to the hill-country of Ephraim, and brings them back to YHWH, God of their fathers.
Habitou pois Josaphat em Jerusalém: e tornou a passar pelo povo desde Berseba até as montanhas de Ephraim, e fez com que tornassem ao Senhor Deus de seus pais.
5 And he establishes judges in the land, in all the fortified cities of Judah, for every city,
E estabeleceu juízes na terra, em todas as cidades fortes, de cidade em cidade.
6 and says to the ones judging, “See what you are doing—for you do not judge for man, but for YHWH, who [is] with you in the matter of judgment;
E disse aos juízes: Vede o que fazeis; porque não julgais da parte do homem, senão da parte do Senhor, e ele está convosco no negócio do juízo.
7 and now, let fear of YHWH be on you, observe and do, for there is not perverseness with our God YHWH, and favoring by appearance, and taking of a bribe.”
Agora pois, seja o temor do Senhor convosco: guardai-o, e fazei-o; porque não há no Senhor nosso Deus iniquidade nem aceitação de pessoas, nem aceitação de presentes.
8 And also in Jerusalem, Jehoshaphat has appointed of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the heads of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of YHWH, and for strife; and they return to Jerusalem,
E também estabeleceu Josaphat a alguns dos levitas e dos sacerdotes e dos chefes dos pais de Israel sobre o juízo do Senhor, e sobre as causas judiciais: e tornaram a Jerusalém.
9 and he lays a charge on them, saying, “Thus do you do in the fear of YHWH, in faithfulness, and with a perfect heart,
E deu-lhes ordem, dizendo: Assim fazei no temor do Senhor com fidelidade, e com coração inteiro.
10 and any strife that comes to you of your brothers who are dwelling in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and command, statutes, and judgments, then you have warned them and they do not become guilty before YHWH, and wrath has not been on you and on your brothers; thus do you do, and you are not guilty.
E em toda a diferença que vier a vós de vossos irmãos que habitam nas suas cidades, entre sangue e sangue, entre lei e mandamento, entre estatutos e juízos, e admoestai-os, que se não façam culpados para com o Senhor, e não venha grande ira sobre vós, e sobre vossos irmãos: fazei assim, e não vos fareis culpados
11 And behold, Amariah the head priest [is] over you for every matter of YHWH, and Zebadiah son of Ishmael, the leader of the house of Judah, [is] for every matter of the king, and the Levites [are] officers before you; be strong and do, and YHWH is with the good.”
E eis que Amarias, o sumo sacerdote, presidirá sobre vós em todo o negócio do Senhor; e Zebadias, filho d'Ishmael, príncipe da casa de Judá, em todo o negócio do rei; também os oficiais, os levitas, estão perante vós: esforçai-vos, pois, e fazei-o; e o Senhor será com os bons.
