2 Chronicles 16
1 In the thirty-sixth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha king of Israel has come up against Judah, and builds Ramah, so as not to permit any going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.
En el trigésimo sexto año del gobierno de Asa, Baasa, rey de Israel, subió contra Judá, construyendo Ramá para que nadie pudiera salir o entrar a Asa, rey de Judá.
2 And Asa brings out silver and gold from the treasures of the house of YHWH and of the house of the king, and sends [them] to Ben-Hadad king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,
Entonces Asa tomó plata y oro de las tiendas de la casa del Señor y de la casa del rey, y envió a Ben- Adad, rey de Siria, a Damasco, diciendo:
3 “A covenant [is] between me and you, and between my father and your father, behold, I have sent silver and gold to you; go, break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he goes up from off me.”
Sea un acuerdo entre tú y yo como hubo entre mi padre y tu padre: mira, te he enviado plata y oro; Ve y pon fin a tu acuerdo con Baasa, rey de Israel, para que pueda dejar de atacarme.
4 And Ben-Hadad listens to King Asa, and sends the heads of the forces that he has to cities of Israel, and they strike Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Maim, and all the stores, cities of Naphtali.
E hizo Ben-adad como dijo el rey Asa, y envió a los capitanes de sus ejércitos contra las ciudades de Israel, atacando a Ijon y Dan y Abel-maim, y todas las ciudades que servían de almacén a Neftalí.
5 And it comes to pass, at Baasha’s hearing, that he ceases from building Ramah, and lets his work rest;
Entonces, al oírlo, Baasa detuvo la construcción de Ramá suspendiendo su trabajo.
6 and Asa the king has taken all Judah, and they carry away the stones of Ramah and its wood that Baasha has built [with], and he builds Geba and Mizpah with them.
Entonces el rey Asa, con todo Judá, quitó las piedras y la madera con las que Baasa estaba construyendo a Ramá, y las usó para construir a Geba y Mizpa.
7 And at that time Hanani the seer has come to Asa king of Judah and says to him, “Because of your leaning on the king of Aram, and you have not leaned on your God YHWH, therefore the force of the king of Aram has escaped from your hand.
En aquel momento, Hanani, él profeta, se acercó a Asa, rey de Judá, y le dijo: Porque has puesto tu fe en el rey de Siria y no en el Señor tu Dios, el ejército del rey de Siria. se ha escapado de tus manos.
8 Did the Cushim and the Lubim not become a very great force for multitude, for chariot, and for horsemen? And in your leaning on YHWH He gave them into your hand,
¿No eran los etíopes y los libios un ejército muy grande, con carruajes de guerra y jinetes más de lo que podrían estar contados? pero como tu fe estaba en el Señor, él los entregó en tus manos.
9 for YHWH—His eyes go to and fro in all the earth, to show Himself strong [for] a people whose heart [is] perfect toward Him; you have been foolish concerning this, because from now on there are wars with you.”
Porque los ojos del Señor van, a través de toda la tierra, permite que se vea que él es el fuerte apoyo de aquellos cuyos corazones le son fieles. En esto has hecho tontamente, porque a partir de ahora tendrás guerras.
10 And Asa is angry at the seer, and puts him [in] the house of stocks, for [he is] in a rage with him for this; and Asa oppresses [some] of the people at that time.
Entonces Asa se enojó con el profeta y lo puso en la cárcel, ardiendo de ira contra él a causa de esto. Y al mismo tiempo, Asa era cruel con algunas de las personas.
11 And behold, the matters of Asa, the first and the last, behold, they are written on the scroll of the kings of Judah and Israel.
Ahora, los hechos de Asa, desde principio a fin, están registrados en el libro de los reyes de Judá e Israel.
12 And Asa is diseased—in the thirty-ninth year of his reign—in his feet, until his disease is excessive; and also in his disease he has not sought YHWH, but among physicians.
En el año treinta y nueve de su gobierno, Asa tenía una enfermedad muy grave de los pies; pero no acudió al Señor en busca de ayuda para su enfermedad, sino a médicos.
13 And Asa lies with his fathers, and dies in the forty-first year of his reign,
Entonces Asa fue a descansar con sus padres, y la muerte le vino en el año cuarenta y uno de su gobierno.
14 and they bury him in [one of] his graves that he had prepared for himself in the City of David, and they cause him to lie on a bed that [one] has filled [with] spices, and various kinds of mixtures, with perfumed work; and they burn a very great burning for him.
Y lo enterraron el lugar que se había hecho para él mismo en la ciudad de David, en una cama llena de perfumes dulces de todo tipo de especias, hechos por el arte del perfumista, e hicieron una gran hoguera en su honor.
