2 Chronicles 10
1 And Rehoboam goes to Shechem, for all of Israel has come [to] Shechem to cause him to reign.
౧రెహబాముకు పట్టాభిషేకం చేయడానికి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులంతా షెకెముకు చేరుకున్నారు. రెహబాము షెకెముకు వెళ్ళాడు.
2 And it comes to pass, at Jeroboam son of Nebat—who [is] in Egypt because he has fled from the face of Solomon the king—hearing, that Jeroboam turns back out of Egypt;
౨సొలొమోను రాజు దగ్గర నుండి పారిపోయి ఐగుప్తులో నివసిస్తున్న నెబాతు కొడుకు యరొబాము అది విని ఐగుప్తు నుండి తిరిగి వచ్చాడు.
3 and they send and call for him, and Jeroboam comes in, and all of Israel, and they speak to Rehoboam, saying,
౩ప్రజలు అతణ్ణి పిలిపించగా యరొబాము, ఇశ్రాయేలువారు కలిసి వచ్చి రెహబాముతో “నీ తండ్రి మా కాడిని బరువుగా చేశాడు.
4 “Your father made our yoke sharp, and now, make light [some] of the sharp service of your father, and [some] of his heavy yoke that he put on us, and we serve you.”
౪నీ తండ్రి నియమించిన కఠిన దాస్యాన్ని, అతడు మా మీద ఉంచిన బరువైన కాడిని నువ్వు ఇప్పుడు తేలికగా చేస్తే మేము నిన్ను సేవిస్తాము” అని మనవి చేశారు.
5 And he says to them, “Yet three days—then return to me”; and the people go.
౫అందుకు అతడు “మీరు మూడు రోజుల తరవాత నా దగ్గరికి రండి” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు. కాబట్టి ప్రజలు వెళ్లిపోయారు.
6 And King Rehoboam consults with the aged men who have been standing before his father Solomon in his being alive, saying, “How are you counseling to answer this people?”
౬అప్పుడు రెహబాము రాజు తన తండ్రి సొలొమోను జీవించి ఉండగా అతని ముందు నిలిచి సేవ చేసిన పెద్దలను పిలిపించి “ఈ ప్రజలకు నన్నేమి జవాబు చెప్పమంటారు? మీ సలహా ఏమిటి?” అని వారిని అడిగాడు.
7 And they speak to him, saying, “If you become good to this people, and have been pleased with them, and spoken to them good words, then they have been servants to you [for] all the days.”
౭అందుకు వారు “నువ్వు ఈ ప్రజల పట్ల దయాదాక్షిణ్యాలు చూపి వారితో మృదువుగా మాట్లాడితే వారు ఎప్పటికీ నీకు దాసులుగా ఉంటారు” అని అతనితో చెప్పారు.
8 And he forsakes the counsel of the aged men that they counseled him, and consults with the boys who have grown up with him, those standing before him,
౮అయితే అతడు ఆ పెద్దలు తనకు చెప్పిన ఆలోచన తోసిపుచ్చి, తనతో పెరిగి తన దగ్గర ఉన్న యువకులతో ఆలోచన చేశాడు.
9 and he says to them, “What are you counseling, and we answer this people that have spoken to me, saying, Make light [some] of the yoke that your father put on us?”
౯అతడు “‘నీ తండ్రి మామీద ఉంచిన కాడిని తేలిక చెయ్యి’ అని నన్నడిగిన ఈ ప్రజలకి నేనేం జవాబు చెప్పాలని మీరు ఆలోచిస్తారో చెప్పండి” అని వారిని అడిగాడు.
10 And the boys who have grown up with him speak with him, saying, “Thus you say to the people who have spoken to you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy, and you, make light [some] of our yoke; thus you say to them, My little finger is thicker than the loins of my father;
౧౦అతనితో కూడా పెరిగిన ఆ యువకులు అతనితో ఇలా అన్నారు “‘నీ తండ్రి మా కాడిని బరువు చేశాడు, నువ్వు దాన్ని తేలిక చెయ్యి’ అని నిన్ను అడిగిన ఈ ప్రజలతో నువ్వేమి చెప్పాలంటే, ‘నా చిటికెన వ్రేలు నా తండ్రి నడుము కంటే బరువు.
11 and now, my father laid a heavy yoke on you, and I add to your yoke; my father disciplined you with whips, and I—with scorpions.”
౧౧నా తండ్రి బరువైన కాడి మీమీద మోపాడు గాని నేను మీ కాడిని మరింత బరువు చేస్తాను. నా తండ్రి చెర్నాకోలతో మిమ్మల్ని దండించాడు. నేనైతే మిమ్మల్ని కొరడాలతో దండిస్తాను’ అని చెప్పు.”
12 And Jeroboam comes in, and all the people, to Rehoboam on the third day, as the king spoke, saying, “Return to me on the third day.”
౧౨“మూడవ రోజున నా దగ్గరికి తిరిగి రండి” అని రాజు చెప్పిన ప్రకారం యరొబాము, ప్రజలు మూడో రోజున రెహబాము దగ్గరకి వచ్చారు.
13 And the king answers them sharply, and King Rehoboam forsakes the counsel of the aged men,
౧౩రెహబాము పెద్దలు చెప్పిన ఆలోచనను త్రోసిపుచ్చి, యువకులు చెప్పిన ప్రకారం వారితో కఠినంగా జవాబిచ్చాడు.
14 and speaks to them according to the counsel of the boys, saying, “My father made your yoke heavy, and I add to it; my father disciplined you with whips, and I—with scorpions.”
౧౪అతడు వారితో “నా తండ్రి మీ కాడిని బరువు చేశాడు, నేను దాన్ని మరింత బరువు చేస్తాను. నా తండ్రి మిమ్మల్ని చెర్నాకోలతో దండించాడు. నేనైతే మిమ్మల్ని కొరడాలతో దండిస్తాను” అని చెప్పాడు.
15 And the king has not listened to the people, for the revolution has been from God, for the sake of YHWH’s establishing His word that He spoke by the hand of Abijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat.
౧౫యెహోవా షిలోనీయుడైన అహీయా ద్వారా నెబాతు కొడుకు యరొబాముతో చెప్పిన తన మాటను స్థిరపరచేలా దేవుని నిర్ణయ ప్రకారం ప్రజలు చేసిన మనవి రాజు ఆలకించలేదు.
16 And all Israel have seen that the king has not listened to them, and the people send back [word to] the king, saying, “What portion do we have in David? Indeed, there is no inheritance in a son of Jesse; [go], each to your tents, O Israel! Now see your house, O David!” And all [in] Israel go to their tents.
౧౬రాజు తమ మనవి అంగీకరించక పోవడం చూసి ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలు, “దావీదులో మాకు భాగమెక్కడ ఉంది? యెష్షయి కుమారుడిలో మాకు వారసత్వం లేదు. ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలారా, మీ గుడారాలకి వెళ్ళిపోండి. దావీదూ, నీ సంతతి వారిని నువ్వే చూసుకో” అని రాజుతో చెప్పి ఎవరి గుడారానికి వారు వెళ్లిపోయారు.
17 As for the sons of Israel who are dwelling in the cities of Judah—Rehoboam reigns over them.
౧౭అయితే యూదా పట్టణాల్లో నివసించే ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిని రెహబాము పరిపాలించాడు.
18 And King Rehoboam sends Hadoram, who [is] over the tribute, and the sons of Israel cast stones at him, and he dies; and King Rehoboam has strengthened himself to go up into a chariot to flee to Jerusalem;
౧౮రెహబాము రాజు వెట్టి పనివారి మీద అధికారి అయిన హదోరాముని ఇశ్రాయేలు వారి దగ్గరకి పంపించాడు. కానీ వారు అతణ్ణి రాళ్లతో చావగొట్టారు. అప్పుడు రెహబాము రాజు త్వరగా తన రథం ఎక్కి యెరూషలేముకు పారిపోయాడు.
19 and Israel transgresses against the house of David to this day.
౧౯ఇశ్రాయేలు వారు దావీదు సంతతి వారి మీద తిరుగుబాటు చేసి ఇప్పటికీ వారికి లోబడకుండా ఉన్నారు.
