< 2 Chronicles 10 >

1 And Rehoboam goes to Shechem, for all of Israel has come [to] Shechem to cause him to reign.
Le nimb’e Sekeme añe t’i Rekoboame; aa naho nivotrake e Sekeme ao iaby t’Israele hanao aze mpanjaka,
2 And it comes to pass, at Jeroboam son of Nebat—who [is] in Egypt because he has fled from the face of Solomon the king—hearing, that Jeroboam turns back out of Egypt;
naho jinanji’ Iarovame ana’ i Nebate—ie e Mitsraime añe ami’ty niorata’e tsy hiatrefa’e i Selomò mpanjakay fe nimpoly boake Mitsraime t’Iarovame,
3 and they send and call for him, and Jeroboam comes in, and all of Israel, and they speak to Rehoboam, saying,
ie nampisangitrife’ iereo—le nimb’eo t’Iarovame naho Israele iaby nisaontsy amy Rekoboame ami’ty hoe:
4 “Your father made our yoke sharp, and now, make light [some] of the sharp service of your father, and [some] of his heavy yoke that he put on us, and we serve you.”
Nanoen-drae’o gañe o joka’aio, aa le hamaivaño o fitoroñañe nasampen-drae’o ama’aio naho i joka’e nampijinie’e anaiy vaho hitoroñe azo zahay.
5 And he says to them, “Yet three days—then return to me”; and the people go.
Le hoe re am’ iereo: Mimpolia mb’amako naho modo ty telo andro. Aa le nienga ondatio.
6 And King Rehoboam consults with the aged men who have been standing before his father Solomon in his being alive, saying, “How are you counseling to answer this people?”
Le nisafiry amo androanavy nijohañe añatrefa’ i Selomò rae’e t’ie niveloñeo t’i Rekoboame ami’ty hoe: Ino ty hanoroa’ areo ahy havaleko ondaty retoañe?
7 And they speak to him, saying, “If you become good to this people, and have been pleased with them, and spoken to them good words, then they have been servants to you [for] all the days.”
Le nisaontsia’ iareo ty hoe: Naho tretreze’o ondaty retoa naho hampifalè’o vaho isaontsia’o volan-tsoa, le ho mpitoro’o nainai’e.
8 And he forsakes the counsel of the aged men that they counseled him, and consults with the boys who have grown up with him, those standing before him,
Fe napo’e i fañereta’ o androanavioy, le nitsò-pañahi’ o ajalahy nindre nibeizeñe ama’e mpijohañe añatrefa’eo.
9 and he says to them, “What are you counseling, and we answer this people that have spoken to me, saying, Make light [some] of the yoke that your father put on us?”
Le hoe re am’ iereo: Ino ty hatoro’ areo ahy, hamalean-tika ondaty nanao amako ty hoe: Hamaivaño i joka nampijinien-drae’o anaiy?
10 And the boys who have grown up with him speak with him, saying, “Thus you say to the people who have spoken to you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy, and you, make light [some] of our yoke; thus you say to them, My little finger is thicker than the loins of my father;
Le hoe ty saontsi’ o ajalahy nindre nibey ama’eo: Ty hoe ty hatao’o am’ondaty nanao ama’o: Nampavesaren-drae’o o joka’aio, aa le hamaivaño ama’ay, Ty hoe ty hanoa’o: Boda’e te aman-tohan-draeko ty anakikiko.
11 and now, my father laid a heavy yoke on you, and I add to your yoke; my father disciplined you with whips, and I—with scorpions.”
Aa kanao nampilogologoen-draeko joka mavesatse, le ho tompeako o joka’ areoo; nilafaen-draeko am-pifiake, fa izaho ka ty handilo an-kalafiañe.
12 And Jeroboam comes in, and all the people, to Rehoboam on the third day, as the king spoke, saying, “Return to me on the third day.”
Aa le nimb’amy Rekoboame mb’eo amy andro fahateloy t’Iarovame naho ondaty iabio, amy nafe’ i mpanjakaiy ami’ty hoe: Mimpolia mb’etoa ami’ty andro fahatelo.
13 And the king answers them sharply, and King Rehoboam forsakes the counsel of the aged men,
Fe nanoiñe an-tsotrake i mpanjakay; nifarie’ i mpanjakay ty fanoroa’ i androanavy rey,
14 and speaks to them according to the counsel of the boys, saying, “My father made your yoke heavy, and I add to it; my father disciplined you with whips, and I—with scorpions.”
vaho i entañe natoro’ i ajalahy reiy ty nanoe’e, ami’ty hoe; Nampijinie’e joka mavesatse, fe ho tompeako; nilafaen-draeko am-pifiake fa izaho ka an-kalafiañe.
15 And the king has not listened to the people, for the revolution has been from God, for the sake of YHWH’s establishing His word that He spoke by the hand of Abijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat.
Aa le tsy hinao’ i mpanjakay ondatio, amy t’ie fampivalihan’ Añahare, hampijadoña’ Iehovà i tsara nitsarae’e am-pità’ i Akiià nte-Silone am’ Iarovame ana’ i Nebatey.
16 And all Israel have seen that the king has not listened to them, and the people send back [word to] the king, saying, “What portion do we have in David? Indeed, there is no inheritance in a son of Jesse; [go], each to your tents, O Israel! Now see your house, O David!” And all [in] Israel go to their tents.
Aa ie nioni’ Israele iaby te tsy nañaoñe iareo i mpanjakay, le hoe ty natoi’ ondatio i mpanjakay: Ino ty anjara’ay amy Davide? Toe tsy aman-dova amy ana’ Iisaiy zahay; songa mb’an-kiboho’e mb’eo, ry Israele; le ambeno i anjomba’oy henane zao ry Davide, vaho hene nienga mb’ an-kiboho’e mb’eo t’Israele.
17 As for the sons of Israel who are dwelling in the cities of Judah—Rehoboam reigns over them.
Fe o ana’ Israele nimoneñe an-drova’ Iehodao, mbe nifehe’ i Rekoboame.
18 And King Rehoboam sends Hadoram, who [is] over the tribute, and the sons of Israel cast stones at him, and he dies; and King Rehoboam has strengthened himself to go up into a chariot to flee to Jerusalem;
Nirahe’ i Rekoboame amy zao t’i Hadorame mpifehe i habay; f’ie rinetsa’ o ana’ Israeleo vato, le nihomake. Aa le nihitrihitry mb’amy sarete’ey mb’eo t’i Rekoboame mpanjaka, niherereake mb’e Ierosalaime añe.
19 and Israel transgresses against the house of David to this day.
Aa le niola amy anjomba’ i Davidey t’Israele ampara’ te henane.
