2 Chronicles 1

1 And Solomon son of David strengthens himself over his kingdom, and his God YHWH [is] with him, and makes him exceedingly great.

Y Salomón, hijo de David, fue confirmado en su reino, y Jehová su Dios fue con él, y le magnificó grandemente.

2 And Solomon says to all Israel, to heads of the thousands, and of the hundreds, and to the ones judging, and to every honorable one of all Israel, heads of the fathers,

Y mandó Salomón a todo Israel, tribunos, centuriones, y jueces, y a todos los príncipes de todo Israel, cabezas de familias.

3 and they go—Solomon, and all the assembly with him—to the high place that [is] in Gibeon, for God’s Tent of Meeting has been there, that Moses, servant of YHWH, made in the wilderness,

Y fue Salomón, y con él toda la congregación al alto que estaba en Gabaón; porque allí estaba el tabernáculo del testimonio de Dios, que había hecho Moisés siervo de Jehová en el desierto.

4 but David had the Ark of God brought up from Kirjath-Jearim to the [place] David had prepared for it, for he stretched out a tent for it in Jerusalem;

Y David había traído el arca de Dios de Cariat-jarim al lugar que él le había aparejado; porque él le había tendido una tienda en Jerusalem.

5 and the altar of bronze that Bezaleel son of Uri, son of Hur made, he put before the Dwelling Place of YHWH; and Solomon and the assembly seek Him [there].

Asimismo el altar de metal que había hecho Beseleel, hijo de Urí, hijo de Jur, estaba allí delante del tabernáculo de Jehová, al cual Salomón y la congregación iban a consultar.

6 And Solomon goes up there, on the altar of bronze, before YHWH, that [is] at the Tent of Meeting, and causes one thousand burnt-offerings to ascend on it.

Y subió Salomón allá delante de Jehová al altar de metal, que estaba en el tabernáculo del testimonio, y sacrificó sobre él mil holocaustos.

7 In that night God has appeared to Solomon and says to him, “Ask—what do I give to you?”

Y aquella noche apareció Dios a Salomón, y díjole: Demanda lo que quisieres que yo te dé.

8 And Solomon says to God, “You have done great kindness with my father David, and have caused me to reign in his stead.

Y Salomón dijo a Dios: Tú has hecho con David mi padre grande misericordia, y a mí me has puesto por rey en lugar suyo.

9 Now, O YHWH God, Your word with my father David is steadfast, for You have caused me to reign over a people [as] numerous as the dust of the earth;

Sea pues ahora firme, oh Jehová Dios, tu palabra con David mi padre: porque tú me has puesto por rey sobre mucho pueblo, como el polvo de la tierra.

10 now, give wisdom and knowledge to me, and I go out before this people, and I come in, for who judges this—Your great people?”

Dáme pues ahora sabiduría y ciencia, para que pueda salir y entrar delante de este pueblo: porque ¿quién podrá juzgar este tu pueblo tan grande?

11 And God says to Solomon, “Because that this has been with your heart, and you have not asked for riches, wealth, and honor, and the life of those hating you, and also have not asked for many days, and ask for wisdom and knowledge for yourself, so that you judge My people over which I have caused you to reign—

Y dijo Dios a Salomón: Por cuanto esto fue en tu corazón, que no pediste riquezas, hacienda, o gloria, ni la muerte de los que te quieren mal, ni pediste muchos días de vida; mas pediste para ti sabiduría y ciencia, para juzgar mi pueblo, sobre el cual te he puesto por rey:

12 the wisdom and the knowledge is given to you, and riches and wealth and honor I [also] give to you, that there has not been so to the kings who [are] before you, and after you it is not so.”

Sabiduría y ciencia te es dada, y también te daré riquezas, hacienda, y gloria, cuanto nunca hubo en los reyes que han sido antes de ti, ni después de ti habrá tal.

13 And Solomon comes in to Jerusalem [from] the high place that [is] in Gibeon, from before the Tent of Meeting, and reigns over Israel,

Y volvió Salomón del alto que estaba en Gabaón de delante del tabernáculo del testimonio a Jerusalem: y reinó sobre Israel.

14 and Solomon gathers chariots and horsemen, and he has one thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he places them in the cities of the chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem.

Y juntó Salomón carros y gente de a caballo, y tuvo mil y cuatrocientos carros, y doce mil caballeros, los cuales puso en las ciudades de los carros, y con el rey en Jerusalem.

15 And the king makes the silver and the gold in Jerusalem as stones, and the cedars he made as sycamores that [are] in the low country, for abundance.

Y puso el rey plata y oro en Jerusalem como piedras, y cedros como cabrahígos que nacen en los campos en abundancia.

16 And the source of the horses that [are] for Solomon [is] from Egypt and from Keva; merchants of the king take [them] from Keva at a price,

Y sacaban caballos y lienzos finos de Egipto para Salomón: porque la compañía de los mercaderes del rey compraban caballos y lienzos.

17 and they come up, and bring out a chariot from Egypt for six hundred pieces of silver, and a horse for one hundred and fifty, and so for all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Aram—they bring [them] out by their hand.

Y subían, y sacaban de Egipto un carro por seiscientas piezas de plata, y un caballo por ciento y cincuenta: y así los sacaban todos los reyes de los Jetteos, y los reyes de Siria por mano de ellos.
