1 Timothy 5
1 You may not rebuke an elder, but exhort [him] as a father, younger persons as brothers,
Nama dulloome tokko akka waan inni abbaa kee taʼeetti gorsi malee hin ifatin. Dargaggootas akka obbolootaatti ilaali;
2 aged women as mothers, younger ones as sisters—in all purity;
dubartoota dullooman akka haadhotiitti, dubartoota shamarran akka obboleettotaatti qulqullummaa guutuun ilaali.
3 honor widows who are really widows;
Haadhota hiyyeessaa kanneen dhugumaan rakkattoota taʼan kabaji.
4 and if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety to their own house, and to give back a repayment to the parents, for this is right and acceptable before God.
Garuu haati hiyyeessaa tokko yoo ijoollee yookaan akkoowwan qabaatte ijoolleen kunneen maatii isaanii gargaaruu fi warra isaaniitiif gatii deebisuudhaan amantii isaanii hojiin mulʼisuuf duraan dursanii barachuu qabu; kun Waaqa gammachiisaatii.
5 And she who is really a widow and desolate, has hoped on God, and remains in the supplications and in the prayers night and day,
Haati hiyyeessaa kan dhugumaan rakkattuu taatee kophaa ishee hafte abdii ishee Waaqa irra kaaʼattee halkanii guyyaa kadhannaa fi gargaarsa Waaqaa gaafachuu itti fufti.
6 but she given to luxury [while] living has died;
Haati hiyyeessaa kan jireenya gammachuutti of gattu garuu utuma jirtuu iyyuu duuteerti.
7 and charge these things, that they may be blameless;
Akka namni tokko iyyuu mudaa hin qabaanneef ajaja kana kenni.
8 and if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of the household, he has denied the faith, and he is worse than an unbeliever.
Namni firoota isaa keessumattuu miseensota maatii isaa warra isatti aannan hin gargaarre kam iyyuu amantii ganeera; inni nama hin amanne caalaattis hamaa dha.
9 A widow—do not let her be enrolled under sixty years of age, having been a wife of one husband,
Haati hiyyeessaa tokko yoo umuriin ishee waggaa jaatamaa ol taʼee akkasumas niitii dhirsa tokkichaa turte taate malee maqaan ishee galmee haadhota hiyyeessaa irratti hin galmeeffamin;
10 being testified to in good works: if she brought up children, if she entertained strangers, if she washed holy ones’ feet, if she relieved those in tribulation, if she followed after every good work;
akkasumas isheen hojii gaarii hojjechuudhaan jechuunis ijoollee guddisuudhaan, keessummaa simachuudhaan, miilla qulqullootaa dhiquudhaan, warra rakkatan gargaaruudhaan, karaa hundumaanis hojii gaarii hojjechuu keessatti of kennuudhaan kan beekamte taʼuu qabdi.
11 and be refusing younger widows, for when they may revel against the Christ, they wish to marry,
Haadhota hiyyeessaa kanneen shamarran taʼan garuu hin galmeessin. Isaan yommuu hawwiin foonii Kiristoos irraa gargar isaan baasutti deebiʼanii heerumuu barbaaduutii.
12 having judgment, because they cast away the first faith,
Kanaanis isaan waan kakuu isaanii kan jalqabaa cabsaniif murtii ofitti fidu.
13 and also at the same time, they learn [to be] idle, going around the houses; and not only idle, but also tattlers and busybodies, speaking things they should not;
Kana malees manaa gara manaatti labanii dhibaaʼummaa baratu. Dhibaaʼummaa qofa utuu hin taʼin waan dubbachuun isaaniif hin malle dubbachuudhaan nama hamatu; dhimma namaa keessas galu.
14 I intend, therefore, younger ones to marry, to bear children, to be mistress of the house, to give no occasion to the opposer of reviling;
Kanaafuu haadhonni hiyyeessaa kanneen ijoollummaa qaban akka carraa maqaa nu balleessuu diinaaf hin kennineef ani akka isaan heeruman, akka ijoollee daʼanii fi akka mana isaanii bulfatan nan gorsa.
15 for some already turned aside after Satan.
Namoonni tokko tokko Seexana duukaa buʼuuf jedhanii duraanuu karaa irraa goraniiru.
16 If any believing man or believing woman has widows, let them relieve them, and do not let the assembly be burdened, that it may relieve those [who are] really widows.
Dubartiin amantu kam iyyuu yoo haadhota hiyyeessaa maatii ishee keessaa qabaatte, akka waldaan kiristaanaa haadhota hiyyeessaa kanneen dhugumaan rakkattoota taʼan gargaartuuf isheen isaan haa gargaartuu malee akka waldaa kiristaanaatti baʼaa taʼan hin godhin.
17 Let them, the well-leading elders, be counted worthy of double honor, especially those laboring in word and teaching,
Jaarsoliin sirriitti waldaa kiristaanaa bulchan keessumattuu warri hojiin isaanii lallabuu fi barsiisuu taʼe ulfina dachaa argachuu qabu.
18 for the Writing says, “You will not muzzle an ox treading out,” and, “Worthy [is] the workman of his reward.”
Katabbiin Qulqulluun, “Qotiyyoo midhaan siribsiisuutti jiru afaan hin hidhin;” akkasumas, “Hojjetaaf mindaa isaa argachuun ni mala” jedhaatii.
19 Do not receive an accusation against an elder, except on two or three witnesses.
Yoo dhuga baatota lamaan yookaan sadiin mirkaneeffame malee himata jaarsa tokko mormuun dhiʼeeffamu kam iyyuu hin fudhatin.
20 Reprove those sinning before all, that the others may also have fear;
Akka warri kaan sodaataniif namoota cubbuu hojjetan fuula namoota hundaa duratti itti dheekkami.
21 I fully testify, before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the chosen messengers, that you may keep these things, without prejudging, doing nothing by partiality.
Ani akka ati waan tokko iyyuu loogiidhaan hin goonee fi akka wal caalchisuu malee ajajawwan kanneen eegduuf fuula Waaqaatii fi fuula Kiristoos Yesuus duratti, fuula ergamoota filatamanii durattis sin gorsa.
22 Be quickly laying hands on no one, nor be having fellowship with [the] sins of others; be keeping yourself pure;
Eenyu irra iyyuu harka kaaʼuuf hin ariifatin; cubbuu nama biraa keessatti hin hirmaatin. Qulqullummaadhaanis of eeggadhu.
23 no longer be drinking water, but be using a little wine, because of your stomach and of your frequent sicknesses;
Sababii garaa keetiitii fi dhukkuba ammumaa amma sitti kaʼu sanaatiif daadhii wayinii xinnoo ishee dhugi malee bishaan qofa hin dhugin.
24 the sins of certain men are evident beforehand, leading before to judgment, but some also they follow after;
Cubbuun namoota tokko tokkoo duraan dursee ifatti mulʼata; isaan dura darbees lafa murtii gaʼa; cubbuun warra kaanii garuu duuba irratti beekama.
25 in like manner the right works are also evident beforehand, and those that are otherwise are not able to be hid.
Hojiin gaariinis akkasuma ifatti mulʼata; kan ifatti hin mulʼannes dhokfamee hafuu hin dandaʼu.
