1 Timothy 4
1 And the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons,
Mas o Espírito diz expressamente que nos últimos tempos alguns se afastarão da fé, dando atenção a espíritos enganadores, e a doutrinas de demônios,
2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, being seared in their own conscience,
por meio da hipocrisia de mentirosos, que têm a sua própria consciência cauterizada.
3 forbidding to marry—to abstain from meats that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those believing and acknowledging the truth,
Eles proibirão o casamento, e [mandarão] se abster dos alimentos que Deus criou para que sejam usados com gratidão pelos fiéis e pelos que conheceram a verdade.
4 because every creature of God [is] good, and nothing [is] to be rejected, with thanksgiving being received,
Pois toda criatura de Deus é boa, e não há nada a rejeitar, se for recebida com gratidão.
5 for it is sanctified through the word of God and intercession.
Porque ela é santificada pela palavra de Deus e [pela] oração.
6 Placing these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Jesus Christ, being nourished by the words of the faith, and of the good teaching, which you followed after,
Se informares essas coisas aos irmãos, serás um bom servidor de Cristo Jesus, alimentado com as palavras da fé e de boa doutrina que tens seguido.
7 but reject the profane and old women’s fables, and exercise yourself to piety,
Mas rejeita os mitos profanos e de velhas, e exercita-te na devoção divina.
8 for bodily exercise is to little profit, but piety is profitable to all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is coming;
Pois o exercício do corpo tem pouco proveito; mas a devoção divina é proveitosa para tudo, pois tem as promessas da vida atual e da futura.
9 the word [is] steadfast, and worthy of all acceptance;
[Esta] palavra é fiel, e digna de toda aceitação.
10 for this we both labor and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is Savior of all men—especially of those believing.
Pois para isto trabalhamos e lutamos, porque esperamos o Deus vivo, que é o Salvador de todos, especialmente dos crentes.
11 Charge these things, and teach;
Manda essas coisas, e ensina.
12 let no one despise your youth, but become a pattern of those believing in word, in behavior, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity;
Ninguém despreze a tua juventude, mas sê exemplo aos crentes, na palavra, no comportamento, no amor, na fé, e na pureza.
13 until I come, give heed to the reading, to the exhortation, to the teaching;
Persiste na leitura, na exortação e no ensino, até que eu venha.
14 do not be careless of the gift in you, that was given you through prophecy, with laying on of the hands of the eldership;
Não desprezes o dom que está em ti, que te foi dado por profecia, com a imposição das mãos dos presbíteros.
15 be careful of these things; be in these things, that your advancement may be evident in all things;
Medita nessas coisas, e nelas te ocupe, para que o teu progresso seja visível por todos.
16 take heed to yourself and to the teaching; remain in them, for doing this thing, you will save both yourself and those hearing you.
Tem cuidado de ti mesmo e da doutrina; persevera nessas coisas; porque, se fizeres isso, salvarás tanto a ti mesmo como aos que te ouvem.
