1 Timothy 4
1 And the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons,
Der Geist sagt aber ausdrücklich, daß in künftigen Zeiten etliche vom Glauben abfallen werden, die sich halten an trügerische Geister und Lehren der Dämonen,
2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, being seared in their own conscience,
auf das Vorspiegeln von Lügenrednern, die das Brandmal im Gewissen haben,
3 forbidding to marry—to abstain from meats that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those believing and acknowledging the truth,
die da verbieten zu heiraten, und Speisen zu genießen, die doch Gott geschaffen hat zum Genuß mit Danksagung, für die Gläubigen, welche die Wahrheit erkannt haben.
4 because every creature of God [is] good, and nothing [is] to be rejected, with thanksgiving being received,
Denn alles Geschöpf Gottes ist gut und nichts verwerflich, was mit Danksagung empfangen wird;
5 for it is sanctified through the word of God and intercession.
denn es wird geheiligt durch Wort Gottes und Gebet.
6 Placing these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Jesus Christ, being nourished by the words of the faith, and of the good teaching, which you followed after,
Wenn du das den Brüdern vorstellst, wirst du ein rechter Gehilfe Christus Jesus' sein, dich nährend an den Worten des Glaubens und der rechten Lehre, der du dich angeschlossen hast.
7 but reject the profane and old women’s fables, and exercise yourself to piety,
Die verwerflichen Altweiberfabeln aber weise ab. Dagegen übe dich für die Gottseligkeit.
8 for bodily exercise is to little profit, but piety is profitable to all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is coming;
Die Leibliche Uebung ist wenig nütze; die Gottseligkeit aber ist zu allen Dingen nütze, da sie die Verheißung des jetzigen und des zukünftigen Lebens hat.
9 the word [is] steadfast, and worthy of all acceptance;
Bewährt ist das Wort und aller Annahme wert;
10 for this we both labor and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is Savior of all men—especially of those believing.
denn dafür mühen wir uns und kämpfen wir, daß wir unsere Hoffnung gesetzt haben auf den lebendigen Gott, der da ist ein Heiland aller Menschen, zumeist der Gläubigen.
11 Charge these things, and teach;
Das sollst du befehlen und lehren.
12 let no one despise your youth, but become a pattern of those believing in word, in behavior, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity;
Niemand soll deine Jugend gering achten, vielmehr sei du ein Vorbild der Gläubigen, im Wort, im Wandel, in Liebe, im Glauben, in Keuschheit.
13 until I come, give heed to the reading, to the exhortation, to the teaching;
Bis ich komme, fahre fort mit dem Vorlesen, Ermahnen, Lehren.
14 do not be careless of the gift in you, that was given you through prophecy, with laying on of the hands of the eldership;
Achte die Gabe in dir nicht geringe, die dir gegeben ward durch Weissagung mit Handauflegung des Presbyteriums.
15 be careful of these things; be in these things, that your advancement may be evident in all things;
Darum sorge, darin lebe, auf daß du vor aller Augen leuchtende Fortschritte machest.
16 take heed to yourself and to the teaching; remain in them, for doing this thing, you will save both yourself and those hearing you.
Achte auf dich und die Lehre, laß nicht davon: thust du das, so wirst du dich retten, und die welche dich hören.
