1 Timothy 3
1 The word [is] steadfast: If anyone longs for overseership, he desires a right work;
யதி³ கஸ்²சித்³ அத்⁴யக்ஷபத³ம் ஆகாங்க்ஷதே தர்ஹி ஸ உத்தமம்’ கர்ம்ம லிப்ஸத இதி ஸத்யம்’|
2 it is required, therefore, the overseer to be blameless, a husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, respectable, a friend of strangers, apt to teach,
அதோ(அ)த்⁴யக்ஷேணாநிந்தி³தேநைகஸ்யா யோஷிதோ ப⁴ர்த்ரா பரிமிதபோ⁴கே³ந ஸம்’யதமநஸா ஸப்⁴யேநாதிதி²ஸேவகேந ஸி²க்ஷணே நிபுணேந
3 not given to wine, not a striker, but gentle, not contentious, not a lover of money,
ந மத்³யபேந ந ப்ரஹாரகேண கிந்து ம்ரு’து³பா⁴வேந நிர்வ்விவாதே³ந நிர்லோபே⁴ந
4 leading his own house well, having children in subjection with all dignity,
ஸ்வபரிவாராணாம் உத்தமஸா²ஸகேந பூர்ணவிநீதத்வாத்³ வஸ்²யாநாம்’ ஸந்தாநாநாம்’ நியந்த்ரா ச ப⁴விதவ்யம்’|
5 (and if anyone has not known [how] to lead his own house, how will he take care of an assembly of God?)
யத ஆத்மபரிவாராந் ஸா²ஸிதும்’ யோ ந ஸ²க்நோதி தேநேஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸமிதேஸ்தத்த்வாவதா⁴ரணம்’ கத²ம்’ காரிஷ்யதே?
6 not a new convert, lest having been puffed up he may fall to a judgment of the Devil;
அபரம்’ ஸ க³ர்வ்விதோ பூ⁴த்வா யத் ஸ²யதாந இவ த³ண்ட³யோக்³யோ ந ப⁴வேத் தத³ர்த²ம்’ தேந நவஸி²ஷ்யேண ந ப⁴விதவ்யம்’|
7 and it is required of him also to have a good testimony from those outside, that he may not fall into reproach and a snare of the Devil.
யச்ச நிந்தா³யாம்’ ஸ²யதாநஸ்ய ஜாலே ச ந பதேத் தத³ர்த²ம்’ தேந ப³ஹி: ஸ்த²லோகாநாமபி மத்⁴யே ஸுக்²யாதியுக்தேந ப⁴விதவ்யம்’|
8 Servants, in like manner, dignified, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not given to shameful gain,
தத்³வத் பரிசாரகைரபி விநீதை ர்த்³விவித⁴வாக்யரஹிதை ர்ப³ஹுமத்³யபாநே (அ)நாஸக்தை ர்நிர்லோபை⁴ஸ்²ச ப⁴விதவ்யம்’,
9 having the secret of the faith in a pure conscience,
நிர்ம்மலஸம்’வேதே³ந ச விஸ்²வாஸஸ்ய நிகூ³ட⁴வாக்யம்’ தா⁴திவ்யஞ்ச|
10 and let these also first be proved, then let them minister, being unblameable.
அக்³ரே தேஷாம்’ பரீக்ஷா க்ரியதாம்’ தத: பரம் அநிந்தி³தா பூ⁴த்வா தே பரிசர்ய்யாம்’ குர்வ்வந்து|
11 Women, in like manner, dignified, not false accusers, vigilant, faithful in all things.
அபரம்’ யோஷித்³பி⁴ரபி விநீதாபி⁴ரநபவாதி³காபி⁴: ஸதர்காபி⁴: ஸர்வ்வத்ர விஸ்²வாஸ்யாபி⁴ஸ்²ச ப⁴விதவ்யம்’|
12 Servants—let them be husbands of one wife, leading the children well, and their own houses,
பரிசாரகா ஏகைகயோஷிதோ ப⁴ர்த்தாரோ ப⁴வேயு: , நிஜஸந்தாநாநாம்’ பரிஜநாநாஞ்ச ஸுஸா²ஸநம்’ குர்ய்யுஸ்²ச|
13 for those who ministered well acquire a good step to themselves, and much boldness in faith that [is] in Christ Jesus.
யத: ஸா பரிசர்ய்யா யை ர்ப⁴த்³ரரூபேண ஸாத்⁴யதே தே ஸ்²ரேஷ்ட²பத³ம்’ ப்ராப்நுவந்தி க்²ரீஷ்டே யீஸௌ² விஸ்²வாஸேந மஹோத்ஸுகா ப⁴வந்தி ச|
14 I write to you these things, hoping to come to you soon,
த்வாம்’ ப்ரத்யேதத்பத்ரலேக²நஸமயே ஸீ²க்⁴ரம்’ த்வத்ஸமீபக³மநஸ்ய ப்ரத்யாஸா² மம வித்³யதே|
15 and if I delay, that you may know how it is required to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is an assembly of the living God—a pillar and foundation of the truth,
யதி³ வா விலம்பே³ய தர்ஹீஸ்²வரஸ்ய க்³ரு’ஹே (அ)ர்த²த: ஸத்யத⁴ர்ம்மஸ்ய ஸ்தம்ப⁴பி⁴த்திமூலஸ்வரூபாயாம் அமரேஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸமிதௌ த்வயா கீத்³ரு’ஸ² ஆசார: கர்த்தவ்யஸ்தத் ஜ்ஞாதும்’ ஸ²க்ஷ்யதே|
16 and confessedly, great is the secret of piety: who was revealed in flesh, declared righteous in [the] Spirit, seen by messengers, preached among nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory!
அபரம்’ யஸ்ய மஹத்த்வம்’ ஸர்வ்வஸ்வீக்ரு’தம் ஈஸ்²வரப⁴க்தேஸ்தத் நிகூ³ட⁴வாக்யமித³ம் ஈஸ்²வரோ மாநவதே³ஹே ப்ரகாஸி²த ஆத்மநா ஸபுண்யீக்ரு’தோ தூ³தை: ஸந்த்³ரு’ஷ்ட: ஸர்வ்வஜாதீயாநாம்’ நிகடே கோ⁴ஷிதோ ஜக³தோ விஸ்²வாஸபாத்ரீபூ⁴தஸ்தேஜ: ப்ராப்தயே ஸ்வர்க³ம்’ நீதஸ்²சேதி|
