1 Timothy 3
1 The word [is] steadfast: If anyone longs for overseership, he desires a right work;
यो वचन विश्वासयोग्य छ: यदि कसैले अध्यक्ष हुने इच्छा गर्छ भने उसले असल कामको इच्छा गर्छ।
2 it is required, therefore, the overseer to be blameless, a husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, respectable, a friend of strangers, apt to teach,
अब अध्यक्षचाहिँ निर्दोष, एउटै पत्नीका पति, आत्मसंयमी, विवेकी, आदरणीय, पाहुनासत्कार गर्ने, सिकाउन सक्ने हुनुपर्छ।
3 not given to wine, not a striker, but gentle, not contentious, not a lover of money,
मद्यपान नगर्ने, झगडालु होइन, तर भद्र, शान्तिप्रिय, धनसम्पत्तिको लोभ नगर्ने हुनुपर्छ।
4 leading his own house well, having children in subjection with all dignity,
तिनी आफ्नो परिवार राम्ररी चलाउन सक्ने, र आफ्ना बालबच्चाहरूलाई ससम्मान अधीनमा राख्न सक्ने हुनुपर्छ।
5 (and if anyone has not known [how] to lead his own house, how will he take care of an assembly of God?)
यदि कसैले आफ्नै परिवार सम्हाल्न सक्दैन भने तिनले परमेश्वरको मण्डलीको रेखदेख कसरी गर्न सक्ला र?
6 not a new convert, lest having been puffed up he may fall to a judgment of the Devil;
तिनी भर्खर विश्वासमा आएको व्यक्ति हुनुहुँदैन; नत्रता तिनी घमण्डले फुलेर शैतानले पाउने झैँ न्यायमा पर्नेछन्।
7 and it is required of him also to have a good testimony from those outside, that he may not fall into reproach and a snare of the Devil.
तिनले बाहिरकाहरूका बीचमा पनि असल नाम पाएको हुनुपर्छ, नत्रता तिनी निन्दित हुनेछन्, र शैतानको पासोमा पर्नेछन्।
8 Servants, in like manner, dignified, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not given to shameful gain,
यसै गरी सेवकहरू पनि आदर पाउन योग्यका, दुईजिब्रे नहुने, मद्यपान नगर्ने, र अनुचित लाभ नखोज्ने हुनुपर्छ।
9 having the secret of the faith in a pure conscience,
तिनीहरूले विश्वासका गहिरा सत्यहरूलाई शुद्ध विवेकसित कायम राख्नैपर्छ।
10 and let these also first be proved, then let them minister, being unblameable.
पहिले तिनीहरूका जाँच हुनुपर्छ; यदि तिनीहरूका विरुद्धमा केही दोष पाइएन भने तिनीहरूले सेवक भएर सेवा गरून्।
11 Women, in like manner, dignified, not false accusers, vigilant, faithful in all things.
त्यसै गरी तिनीहरूका पत्नीहरू पनि आदर पाउन योग्यका, अरूका कुरा नकाट्ने, तर संयमी र हरेक कुरामा विश्वासयोग्य हुनुपर्छ।
12 Servants—let them be husbands of one wife, leading the children well, and their own houses,
सेवक एउटै पत्नीका पति; आफ्ना बालबच्चाहरू र परिवारको उचित रेखदेख गर्न सक्ने हुनुपर्छ।
13 for those who ministered well acquire a good step to themselves, and much boldness in faith that [is] in Christ Jesus.
जस-जसले राम्ररी सेवा गरेका छन्, तिनीहरूले उत्तम प्रतिष्ठा र ख्रीष्ट येशूमा भएका तिनीहरूका विश्वासमा महान् निश्चयता पाउनेछन्।
14 I write to you these things, hoping to come to you soon,
म तिमीकहाँ चाँडै आउने आशा राख्दै यी उपदेशहरू तिमीलाई लेखिरहेछु।
15 and if I delay, that you may know how it is required to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is an assembly of the living God—a pillar and foundation of the truth,
यदि म आउन ढिलो भएँ भने तापनि परमेश्वरको परिवार, जुन सत्यको जग र खाँबो अर्थात् जिउँदो परमेश्वरको मण्डली हो; त्यसमा मानिसहरूले कसरी चल्नुपर्छ भनी तिमीले जान्न सक।
16 and confessedly, great is the secret of piety: who was revealed in flesh, declared righteous in [the] Spirit, seen by messengers, preached among nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory!
विनाशङ्का यो भन्न सकिन्छ, भक्तिको रहस्य महान् छ: उहाँ मानिसको शरीरमा भएर देखा पर्नुभयो, पवित्र आत्मामा धर्मी ठहरिनुभयो, स्वर्गदूतहरूद्वारा देखिनुभयो, सबै मानिसहरूका बीचमा उहाँको प्रचार भयो, र संसारमा उहाँलाई विश्वास गरियो, महिमामा माथि लगिनुभयो।
