< 1 Thessalonians 4 >

1 As to the rest, then, brothers, we request, and call on you in the Lord Jesus, as you received from us how it is necessary for you to walk and to please God, that you may abound the more,
2 for you have known what commands we gave you through the Lord Jesus;
Mcuhmthehnake naküt cun Bawi Jesuha Ana üng ning jah pet ti cun nami ksingki.
3 for this is the will of God—your sanctification: that you abstain from the whoredom,
Am dawkyakia hnunglanak hawihceh lü nami ngcingcaih vai Pamhnam naw ngja hlüki.
4 that each of you know to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,
Kpami naküt naw ihawkba a nghnumi üng ngcingcaih lü leisawng phyakia a awmihpüi vai ja,
5 not in the affection of desire, as also the nations that were not knowing God,
Pamhnam am ksingki khyang kseea mäiha käh hüipawm kawlaih vai cun ksing ua.
6 that no one goes beyond and defrauds his brother in the matter, because the LORD [is] an avenger of all these, as we also spoke to you before and testified,
U naw pi a Khritjanpüi limma mhleimhlak lü käh eiaw se. Ahlana ka ning jah mtheh päng, acukba mkhyenak pawhki cun Bawipa naw mkhuimkha law khai ti lü asayüa ning jah mtheh veng.
7 for God did not call us to uncleanness, but in sanctification.
Pamhnam naw mi mtuihmleh khaia a jah khü am ni, ngcingcaih khaia a jah khü ni.
8 He, therefore, who is despising, does not despise man, but God, who also gave His Holy Spirit to us.
Acunakyase, ahina mtheinak mahkia khyang cun naw khyang mahki am ni. A Ngmüimkhya Ngcim ning jah pekia Pamhnam mahki ni.
9 And concerning the brotherly love, you have no need of [my] writing to you, for you yourselves are God-taught to love one another,
Nami püi mhläkphyanaka mawng ning jah yuk law vai am hlü. Ihawkba mat ja mat mhläkphyanak vai cun Pamhnam naw ning jah mthei pängki ni.
10 for you do it also to all the brothers who [are] in all Macedonia; and we call on you, brothers, to abound still more,
Acun däk am ni, Maketawnih khawa veki benaea veia pi acukba nami biki. Acunakyase, ka benae aw, nami bi law dämdäm vaia ning jah nghui na veng.
11 and to study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,
Ahlana ka ning jah mtheh pänga kba, dimyekia xünsei vaia mtunei lü, nami khut ngaih na lü, nami kut am khüikhawm ua.
12 that you may walk properly to those outside, and may have lack of nothing.
Acukba nami ve üng, am jumeikie naw ning jah leisawng acun he. Nami hlükaw a ve üng pi khyang kce he am jah ümpa na uki.
13 And I do not wish you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, that you may not sorrow, as also the rest who have no hope,
Ka benae aw, thi pängki he a mawng ngthungtak nami ksing vai ngja hlü veng. Acunüng va, äpeinak am takia kba am nami thüisei pukse khai.
14 for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also God will bring with Him those asleep through Jesus,
Jesuh cun thi lü tho beki tia kami jumki. Acuna kba ni Jesuh jumei lü thiki naküt cun Pamhnam naw Jesuh am atänga jah mtho be khaia pi mi jumki.
15 for we say this to you in the word of the LORD, that we who are living—who remain over to the coming of the LORD—may not precede those asleep,
Atuh kami ning jah mtheimthang hin Bawipaa mtheimthangnak ni. Bawipa law bea mhnüp vei xüng lü mi veki mimi hin thi pängki he a maa am mi pha.
16 because the LORD Himself, with a shout, with the voice of a chief-messenger, and with the trumpet of God, will come down from Heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first;
Ngthupetnak üng ngpyang law khai, khankhawngsä ngvaia kthai ve law khai, Pamhnama pung kthai ng’yüng law lü khankhaw üngka naw Bawipa amät kyum law be khai. Acunüng, Khritaw jumei lü thikie cun tho be ma khaie.
17 then we who are living, who are remaining over, will be snatched up together with them in [the] clouds to meet the LORD in [the] air, and so we will always be with the LORD;
Acun käna, acuna kcün üng mi xüngki mimi pi, amimi am atänga khawngmei am jah mkhäm law be se, khana mi Bawipa am mi ngkhyum khaie. Acunüng, Bawipa am atänga angsäia mi ve law khai.
18 so, then, comfort one another with these words.
Acunakyase, ahina ngthu am mat naw mat mhlawhmcah ua.
