< 1 Thessalonians 1 >
1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, to the assembly of Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Ko Paula, mo Silivenusi, mo Timote, ki he siasi ʻoe kakai Tesalonika ʻoku ʻi he ʻOtua ko e Tamai mo e ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi: Ke ʻiate kimoutolu, ʻae ʻaloʻofa, mo e melino mei he ʻOtua ko ʻetau Tamai, mo e ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi.
2 We always give thanks to God for you all, making mention of you in our prayers,
ʻOku mau fakafetaʻi maʻuaipē ki he ʻOtua koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu kotoa pē, ʻo takua ʻakimoutolu ʻi heʻemau ngaahi lotu;
3 unceasingly remembering your work of faith, and the labor of the love, and the endurance of the hope, of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the presence of our God and Father,
ʻO manatu maʻuaipē ki hoʻomou ngaue ʻi he tui, mo e faʻa fai ʻi he ʻofa, mo e faʻa kātaki ʻi he ʻamanaki lelei, ʻi hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi, ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua ko ʻetau Tamai;
4 having known, beloved brothers, by God, your [divine] selection,
ʻI heʻemau ʻilo, ʻe kāinga ʻofeina, homou fili ʻe he ʻOtua.
5 because our good news did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance, even as you have known of what sort we became among you for your sake,
He naʻe ʻikai hoko ʻemau ongoongolelei kiate kimoutolu ʻi he lea pe, ka ʻi he mālohi foki, pea ʻi he Laumālie Māʻoniʻoni, pea mo e fakamoʻoni lahi; ʻo hangē ʻoku mou ʻilo ʻae anga naʻa mau fai ʻiate kimoutolu koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu.
6 and you became imitators of us and of the LORD, having received the word in much tribulation with joy of the Holy Spirit,
Pea naʻa mou faʻifaʻitaki kiate kimautolu, pea mo e ʻEiki, he nemou maʻu ʻae folofola ʻi he mamahi lahi, mo e fiefia ʻi he Laumālie Māʻoniʻoni:
7 so that you became patterns to all those believing in Macedonia and Achaia,
Pea ne mou hoko ai ko e kau fakaʻilonga ki he kakai tui kotoa pē ʻi Masitōnia mo ʻAkeia.
8 for from you has sounded forth the word of the LORD, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God went forth, so that we have no need to say anything,
He naʻe ongoongo atu meiate kimoutolu ʻae folofola ʻae ʻEiki, ʻo ʻikai ki Masitōnia pe mo ʻAkeia, ka ko hoʻomou tui ki he ʻOtua kuo mafola atu ki he potu kotoa pē foki; ko ia ʻoku ʻikai siʻi ʻaonga ke mau lea ki ai.
9 for they themselves declare concerning us what entrance we had to you, and how you turned to God from the idols, to serve a living and true God,
He ʻoku fakahā ʻekinautolu pe hono anga ʻo ʻemau hoko atu kiate kimoutolu, pea mo hoʻomou tafoki ki he ʻOtua mei he ngaahi tamapua, ke tauhi ʻae ʻOtua moʻui mo moʻoni;
10 and to wait for His Son from the heavens, whom He raised out of the dead—Jesus, who is rescuing us from the anger that is coming.
Pea ke tatali ki hono ʻAlo mei he langi, ʻaia naʻa ne fokotuʻu hake mei he mate, ko Sisu ʻaia ʻoku ne fakamoʻui ʻakitautolu mei he houhau ʻe haʻu.
