1 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, to the assembly of Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

૧ઈશ્વરપિતા તથા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તમાં થેસ્સાલોનિકાની મંડળી વિશ્વાસી સમુદાય ને પાઉલ, સિલ્વાનસ તથા તિમોથી લખે છે; તમને કૃપા તથા શાંતિ હો.

2 We always give thanks to God for you all, making mention of you in our prayers,

૨અમારી પ્રાર્થનાઓમાં તમારાં નામ કહીને, અમે સદા તમો સર્વને માટે ઈશ્વરની આભારસ્તુતિ કરીએ છીએ;

3 unceasingly remembering your work of faith, and the labor of the love, and the endurance of the hope, of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the presence of our God and Father,

૩તમારા વિશ્વાસનાં કામ, પ્રેમપૂર્વકની તમારી મહેનત તથા આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત પરની તમારી દ્રઢ આશાને કારણે તમારામાં ઉત્પન્ન થતી ધીરજને, આપણા ઈશ્વર તથા પિતાની આગળ, અમે હંમેશા યાદ કરીએ છીએ.

4 having known, beloved brothers, by God, your [divine] selection,

૪ભાઈઓ, અમે જાણીએ છીએ કે, ઈશ્વર તમારા પર પ્રેમ કરે છે અને તેણે તમને પસંદ કર્યા છે.

5 because our good news did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance, even as you have known of what sort we became among you for your sake,

૫કેમ કે અમારી સુવાર્તા કેવળ શબ્દમાં નહિ, પણ પરાક્રમમાં, પવિત્ર આત્મામાં તથા ઘણી ખાતરીપૂર્વક તમારી પાસે આવી; તેમ જ તમારે લીધે અમે તમારી મધ્યે કેવી રીતે રહ્યા હતા એ તમે જાણો છો.

6 and you became imitators of us and of the LORD, having received the word in much tribulation with joy of the Holy Spirit,

૬તમે અમને તથા પ્રભુને અનુસરનારા થયા કેમ કે ઘણી વિપત્તિઓ વેઠીને પવિત્ર આત્માનાં આનંદસહિત તમે પ્રભુની વાત સ્વીકારી.

7 so that you became patterns to all those believing in Macedonia and Achaia,

૭જેથી તમે મકદોનિયા તથા અખાયામાંના સર્વ વિશ્વાસીઓને નમૂનારૂપ થયા.

8 for from you has sounded forth the word of the LORD, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God went forth, so that we have no need to say anything,

૮કેમ કે કેવળ મકદોનિયા તથા અખાયામાં તમારાથી પ્રભુની વાતનો પ્રસાર થયો એટલું જ નહિ, પણ સર્વ સ્થળે ઈશ્વર પરનો તમારો વિશ્વાસ પ્રગટ થયો, એ બાબતે અમારે કશું કહેવાની જરૂર જણાતી નથી.

9 for they themselves declare concerning us what entrance we had to you, and how you turned to God from the idols, to serve a living and true God,

૯લોકો પોતે અમારા વિષે એ બધી વાતો પ્રગટ કરે છે કે, કેવી પરિસ્થિતિમાં અમે તમારી મધ્યે આવ્યા અને તમે જીવંત તથા ખરા ઈશ્વરની સેવા કરવાને

10 and to wait for His Son from the heavens, whom He raised out of the dead—Jesus, who is rescuing us from the anger that is coming.

૧૦તથા ઈશ્વરના પુત્ર, એટલે આવનાર કોપથી આપણને બચાવનાર ઈસુ, જેમને તેમણે મૂએલાંમાંથી સજીવન કર્યા, તેમની સ્વર્ગથી આવવાની રાહ જોવાને, કેવી રીતે મૂર્તિઓ તરફથી ઈશ્વર તરફ, તમે ફર્યા.
