1 Samuel 5
1 And the Philistines have taken the Ark of God, and bring it in from Eben-Ezer to Ashdod,
यति बेला पलिश्तीहरूले परमेश्वरको सन्दुक कब्जा गरेका, र तिनीहरूले त्यो एबेन-एजेरबाट अश्दोदमा ल्याएका थिए ।
2 and the Philistines take the Ark of God and bring it into the house of Dagon, and set it near Dagon.
पलिश्तीहरूले परमेश्वरको सन्दुक लगे, दागोनको मन्दिरमा त्यो ल्याए र दागोनको नजिकै राखे ।
3 And the Ashdodites rise early on the next day, and behold, Dagon is fallen on its face to the earth, before the Ark of YHWH; and they take Dagon, and put it back in its place.
जब अश्दोदका मानिसहरू अर्को दिन बिहान सबेरै उठे, हेर, दागोन त परमप्रभुको सन्दुकको सामु घोप्टो परेर ढलेको थियो । त्यसैले तिनीहरूले दागोनलाई उठाए र त्यसलाई आफ्नै स्थानमा खडा गरे ।
4 And they rise early in the morning on the next day, and behold, Dagon is fallen on its face to the earth, before the Ark of YHWH, and the head of Dagon, and the two palms of its hands are cut off at the threshold, only Dagon’s [body] has been left of him;
तर जब तिनीहरू अर्को बिहान सबेरै उठे, हेर, दागोन परमप्रभुको सन्दुकको सामु घोप्टो परेर ढलेको थियो । दागोनको शिर र दुवै हातहरू टुक्रिएर ढोकामा अलपत्र थियो । दागोनको जिउ मात्र बाँकी रहेको थियो ।
5 therefore the priests of Dagon, and all those coming into the house of Dagon, do not tread on the threshold of Dagon, in Ashdod, until this day.
यसैकारण आज पनि दागोनको भवनमा आउने दागोनका पुजारीहरू र कसैले पनि अश्दोदको दागोनको ढोकामा टेक्दैनन् ।
6 And the hand of YHWH is heavy on the Ashdodites, and He makes them desolate, and strikes them with lumps, Ashdod and its borders.
अश्दोदका मानिसहरूमाथि परमप्रभुको हात भारी भयो । उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई विनाश पार्नुभयो, अनि अश्दोद र त्यसको वरिपरि क्षेत्रहरूमा गिर्खाको रूढीले प्रहार गर्नुभयो ।
7 And the men of Ashdod see that [it is] so, and have said, “The Ark of the God of Israel does not abide with us, for His hand has been hard on us, and on our god Dagon.”
जे भइरहेको थियो त्यो कुरा जब अश्दोदका मानिसहरूले थाहा पाए, तब तिनीहरूले भने, “इस्राएलका परमेश्वरको सन्दुक हामीसँग रहनु हुँदैन, किनभने हामी र हाम्रो देवता दागोनको विरुद्धमा उहाँको हात भारी भएको छ ।”
8 And they send and gather all the princes of the Philistines to them, and say, “What do we do to the Ark of the God of Israel?” And they say, “Let the Ark of the God of Israel be brought around to Gath”; and they bring around the Ark of the God of Israel;
त्यसैले तिनीहरूले बोलाउन पठाए र पलिश्तीहरूका सबै शासकहरूलाई एकसाथ भेला गरे । तिनीहरूले उनीहरूलाई भने, “इस्राएलका परमेश्वरको सन्दुकलाई हामीले के गर्नुपर्छ?” तिनीहरूले जवाफ दिए, “इस्राएलका परमेश्वरको सन्दुकलाई गातमा नै ल्याइयोस् ।” त्यसैले तिनीहरूले इस्राएलका परमेश्वरको सन्दुकलाई बोकेर त्यहाँ ल्याए ।
9 and it comes to pass after they have brought it around, that the hand of YHWH is against the city—a very great destruction; and He strikes the men of the city, from small and to great; and lumps break forth on them.
तर तिनीहरूले त्यो वरिपरि ल्याएपछि, परमप्रभुको हात त्यो सहरको विरुद्धमा परेर ठुलो गोलमाल गोलमाल भयो । उहाँले सहरका साना र ठुला सबै मानिसहरूलाई प्रहार गर्नुभयो । अनि तिनीहरूमा गिर्खाको रूढी फैलियो ।
10 And they send the Ark of God to Ekron, and it comes to pass, at the coming in of the Ark of God to Ekron, that the Ekronites cry out, saying, “They have brought around the Ark of the God of Israel to us, to put us and our people to death.”
त्यसैले तिनीहरूले परमेश्वरको सन्दुकलाई एक्रोनमा पठाए । तर परमेश्वरको सन्दुक एक्रोनमा आउने बित्तिकै, एक्रोनीहरूले यसो भन्दै कराए, “तिनीहरूले हामी र हाम्रा मानिसहरूलाई मार्नलाई इस्राएलका परमेश्वरको सन्दुक हामीकहाँ ल्याएका छन् ।”
11 And they send and gather all the princes of the Philistines, and say, “Send the Ark of the God of Israel away, and it turns back to its place, and it does not put us and our people to death”; for there has been a deadly destruction throughout all the city, the hand of God has been very heavy there,
त्यसैले तिनीहरूले पलिश्तीहरूका सबै शासकहरूलाई बोलाए र भेला गरे । तिनीहरूले उनीहरूलाई भने, “इस्राएलका परमेश्वरको सन्दुकलाई पठाइदिनुहोस्, र यो आफ्नै ठाउँतिर फर्कोस्, ताकि त्यसले हामी र हाम्रा मानिसहरूलाई नमारोस् ।” किनकि सहरभरि भयङ्कर मृत्युको त्रास फैलिएको थियो । त्यहाँ परमेश्वरको हात धेरै भारी पर्यो ।
12 and the men who have not died have been struck with lumps, and the cry of the city goes up into the heavens.
नमरेका मानिसहरूमा गिर्खाको रूढी आइपर्यो र सहरको क्रन्दन आकाशसम्मै पुग्यो ।
