< 1 Samuel 31 >
1 And the Philistines are fighting against Israel, and the men of Israel flee from the face of the Philistines, and fall wounded in Mount Gilboa,
Alò Filisten yo t ap goumen kont Israël e mesye Israël yo te kouri devan Filisten yo, e yo te tonbe mouri sou Mòn Guilboa.
2 and the Philistines follow Saul and his sons, and the Philistines strike Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
Filisten yo te rive sou Saül avèk fis li yo. Konsa, yo te touye Jonathan avèk Abinadab, ak Malkishua, fis a Saül yo.
3 And the battle is hard against Saul, and the archers find him—men with bow—and he is greatly pained by the archers;
Batay la te vire rèd kont Saül. Ekip tire flèch ak banza yo te rive sou li; epi li te gravman blese pa ekip banza yo.
4 and Saul says to the bearer of his weapons, “Draw your sword, and pierce me with it, lest they come—these uncircumcised—and have pierced me, and rolled themselves on me”; and the bearer of his weapons has not been willing, for he is greatly afraid, and Saul takes the sword, and falls on it.
Konsa, Saül te di a pòtè zam li an: “Rale nepe ou pou frennen m avè l; otreman, Filisten ensikonsi sila yo va vin frennen m nèt e fè spò avè m.” Men pòtè zam nan te refize, paske li te pè anpil. Pou sa Saül te pran nepe li e te tonbe sou li.
5 And the bearer of his weapons sees that Saul [is] dead, and he falls—he also—on his sword, and dies with him;
Lè pòtè zam nan te wè ke Saül te mouri avèk twa fis li yo, li tou te tonbe sou nepe li pou te mouri avèk li.
6 and Saul dies, and three of his sons, and the bearer of his weapons, also all his men, together on that day.
Konsa Saül te mouri avèk twa fis li yo, pòtè zam li an, ak tout mesye pa l yo ansanm nan jou sa a.
7 And they see—the men of Israel, who [are] beyond the valley, and who [are] beyond the Jordan—that the men of Israel have fled, and that Saul and his sons have died, and they forsake the cities and flee, and Philistines come in, and dwell in them.
8 And it comes to pass on the next day, that the Philistines come to strip the wounded, and they find Saul and his three sons fallen on Mount Gilboa,
Li te vin rive nan pwochen jou a, lè Filisten yo te vini pou depouye mò yo, ke yo te twouve Saül avèk twa fis li yo tonbe sou Mòn Guilboa.
9 and they cut off his head, and strip off his weapons, and send [them] into the land of the surrounding Philistines, to proclaim tidings [in] the house of their idols, and [among] the people;
Yo te koupe tèt li e te retire zam li yo pou te voye yo toupatou nan peyi Filisten yo, pou pote bòn nouvèl la rive lakay zidòl pa yo ak pèp yo a.
10 and they place his weapons [in] the house of Ashtaroth, and they have fixed his body on the wall of Beth-Shan.
Yo te mete zam li yo nan tanp Astarté yo e yo te tache kadav li nan miray kote Beth-Schan nan.
11 And they hear regarding it—the inhabitants of Jabesh-Gilead—that which the Philistines have done to Saul,
Alò, lè moun ki te rete Jabès yo te tande sa ke Filisten yo te fè a Saül,
12 and all the men of valor arise, and go all the night, and take the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, from the wall of Beth-Shan, and come to Jabesh, and burn them there,
tout mesye vanyan yo te leve mache tout nwit lan pou te pran kò Saül la avèk kò a fis pa li yo soti nan miray Beth-Schan lan. Lè yo te rive Jabès yo te brile yo la.
13 and they take their bones, and bury [them] under the tamarisk in Jabesh, and fast seven days.
Yo te pran zo yo e te antere yo anba pye tamaren Jabès la e yo te fè jèn pandan sèt jou.
