1 Samuel 3

1 And the youth Samuel is serving YHWH before Eli, and the word of YHWH has been precious in those days—there is no vision breaking forth.

Und der junge Samuel tat Dienst dem Jehovah vor Eli; und das Wort Jehovahs ward kostbar in jenen Tagen; kein Gesichte ward verbreitet.

2 And it comes to pass, at that time, that Eli is lying down in his place, and his eyes have begun [to be] faded—he is not able to see.

Und es geschah an selbigem Tage, daß Eli lag an seinem Orte, und seine Augen fingen an, trübe zu werden, so daß er nicht sehen konnte.

3 And the lamp of God is not yet extinguished, and Samuel is lying down in the temple of YHWH, where the Ark of God [is],

Und die Lampe Gottes war noch nicht erloschen, und Samuel lag im Tempel Jehovahs, wo die Lade Gottes war.

4 and YHWH calls to Samuel, and he says, “Here I [am].”

Und Jehovah rief dem Samuel, und er sprach: Siehe, hier bin ich;

5 And he runs to Eli and says, “Here I [am], for you have called for me”; and he says, “I did not call; turn back, lie down”; and he goes and lies down.

Und lief zu Eli und sprach: Siehe, hier bin ich! Denn du hast mich gerufen. Er aber sprach: Ich habe nicht gerufen, gehe zurück, lege dich. Und er ging und legte sich.

6 And YHWH adds to call Samuel again, and Samuel rises and goes to Eli, and says, “Here I [am], for you have called for me”; and he says, “I have not called, my son, turn back, lie down.”

Und Jehovah rief noch abermals: Samuel! Und Samuel stand auf und ging zu Eli und sprach: Siehe, hier bin ich, denn du hast mich gerufen. Er aber sprach: Ich habe nicht gerufen, mein Sohn, geh zurück und lege dich.

7 And Samuel has not yet known YHWH, and the word of YHWH is not yet revealed to him.

Und Samuel hatte Jehovah noch nicht gekannt, und Jehovahs Wort war ihm noch nicht geoffenbart.

8 And YHWH adds to call Samuel the third time, and he rises and goes to Eli, and says, “Here I [am], for you have called for me”; and Eli understands that YHWH is calling to the youth.

Und Jehovah rief wiederum: Samuel! Zum dritten Mal. Und er stand auf und ging zu Eli und sprach: Siehe, hier bin ich, denn du hast mich gerufen. Und Eli verstand, daß Jehovah dem Jungen rief;

9 And Eli says to Samuel, “Go, lie down, and it has been, if He calls to you, that you have said, Speak, YHWH, for Your servant is hearing”; and Samuel goes and lies down in his place.

Und Eli sprach zu Samuel: Gehe, lege dich, und soll sein, wenn Er dir ruft, so sprich: Rede, Jehovah, denn dein Knecht hört. Und Samuel ging hin und legte sich an seinen Ort.

10 And YHWH comes, and stations Himself, and calls as time by time, “Samuel, Samuel”; and Samuel says, “Speak, for Your servant is hearing.”

Und Jehovah kam und stellte Sich hin und rief, diesmal wie das vorige Mal: Samuel! Samuel! Und Samuel sprach: Rede, denn Dein Knecht hört.

11 And YHWH says to Samuel, “Behold, I am doing a thing in Israel, at which the two ears of everyone hearing it tingle.

Und Jehovah sprach zu Samuel: Siehe, Ich tue ein Ding in Israel, daß jedem, der es hört, die beiden Ohren gellen.

12 In that day I establish to Eli all that I have spoken to his house, beginning and completing;

An selbigem Tage lasse Ich über Eli erstehen alles, was Ich über sein Haus geredet habe, anfangend und vollendend.

13 and I have declared to him that I am judging his house for all time, for the iniquity which he has known, for his sons are making themselves vile, and he has not restrained them,

Und habe ihm angesagt, daß Ich sein Haus will richten ewiglich ob der Missetat, weil er wußte, daß seine Söhne den Fluch über sich brachten, und er ihnen nicht wehrte.

14 and therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli: the iniquity of the house of Eli is not atoned for, by sacrifice, and by offering—for all time.”

Und darum habe Ich geschworen Elis Hause, daß nicht gesühnt soll werden die Missetat von Elis Haus durch Schlachtopfer und Speiseopfer bis in die Ewigkeit.

15 And Samuel lies until the morning, and opens the doors of the house of YHWH, and Samuel is afraid of declaring the vision to Eli.

Und Samuel lag bis zum Morgen und öffnete die Türen am Hause Jehovahs. Und Samuel fürchtete sich, Eli die Erscheinung anzusagen.

16 And Eli calls Samuel and says, “Samuel, my son”; and he says, “Here I [am].”

Und Eli rief dem Samuel und sprach: Samuel, mein Sohn! Und er sprach: Siehe, hier bin ich.

17 And he says, “What [is] the word which He has spoken to you? Please do not hide it from me; so God does to you, and so does He add, if you hide from me a word of all the words that He has spoken to you.”

Und er sprach: Was ist das Wort, das Er zu dir geredet hat, verhehle es doch nicht vor mir? So tue dir Gott, und also fahre Er fort, wenn du mir verhehlst ein Wort von allem Worte, das Er zu dir geredet hat.

18 And Samuel declares to him the whole of the words, and has not hid from him; and he says, “It [is] YHWH; that which is good in His eyes He does.”

Und Samuel sagte ihm alle die Worte an und verhehlte sie ihm nicht. Und er sprach: Jehovah ist es, Er tue, was gut in Seinen Augen ist.

19 And Samuel grows up, and YHWH has been with him, and has not let any of his words fall to the earth;

Und Samuel wurde groß, und Jehovah war mit ihm, und er ließ keines Seiner Worte zur Erde fallen.

20 and all Israel knows, from Dan even to Beer-Sheba, that Samuel is established for a prophet to YHWH.

Und ganz Israel von Dan bis Beerscheba wußte, daß Samuel bewährt war als der Prophet Jehovahs.

21 And YHWH adds to appear in Shiloh, for YHWH has been revealed to Samuel, in Shiloh, by the word of YHWH.

Und Jehovah fuhr fort zu erscheinen in Schiloh; denn Jehovah offenbarte Sich dem Samuel in Schiloh durch Jehovahs Wort. Und Samuels Wort erging an ganz Israel.
